Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

Okay, neon cacti...i'm out

Anonymous said...

Best part of that song was that it's now over.

Unknown said...

This is a letdown after Kendrick. I like her merry go round song though.

p.s. How did Kendrick lose to Macklemore? I just don't get it.

pps. I'm in love with that man.

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

Good night, all!

JSierra said...

Karen huzzah fellow Kendrick fan! I've been following him and Danny Brown for years, it makes me so happy to see them finally get recognized for their music. They don't fuck with any of this new rap "boooty booty booty" shit and I love that.

Anonymous said...

@Orvilla - don't be a piker! The best is yet to come!

JSierra said...

Steampunk you shut your whore mouth about Texas :p

Steampunk Jazz said...

Why do they keep mentioning acts that we still haven't seen? This last half hour is going to be packed!!!

Unknown said...

@JSierra I have to admit I'm late to the party, I've known about him for a little over a year but man oh man what a year it has been! He is clearly the best thing to come out of the rap world since I don't know when basically. He's incredible consistent.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Night or villa, sweet dreams, better morning...
Blogger is holding comments so I hope I catch you

TalksTooMuch said...

Hshit! Who was with Imagine Dragons?? If that was Kendrick Lamar, I take back all the boring talk, that was FANTASTIC!

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

I'm still here. I'm trying, buddies.

Unknown said...

Am I right in saying that there's still an hour and a half left? When are Daft Punk coming on?! This is so loooong. /rant over

Anonymous said...

Julia sure is getting around a lot these days!

Gorgeous dress - she looks great.

TalksTooMuch said...

Julia Roberts?? Rilly? Who knew she had boobs?? NO MORE MCCARTNEY!!

Unknown said...

Why is Julia introducing my Paul? Go away.

Anonymous said...

@Karen - according to my TV schedule, it finishes at 5pm ... so an hour to go.

Kristin Wigs said...

THERE'S ANOTHER HOUR OF THIS???

I'm out like a fat kid in dodge ball. Night kids.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Lol jsierrahey no doubt texas Would blush for that act in front of these blue state slickers.
Contain your people and there wouldn't be trouble... ;-)

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

my boyfriend is swearing that Paul McCartney is going to die in 2 years or go into hiding!

Anonymous said...

See, I was wrong again - here he is, performing with the only other remaining Beetle (or, should that be performing with the only remaining Beetle, given it's Faul, not Paul).

Kimba said...

Finally - Ringo and Paul.....excited!

JSierra said...

Wasn't expecting Julia to be there...

Golly gee, the Beatles weren't that great y'all! They are just an older, more alive OneDirection.

Anonymous said...

@Orvilla - your boyfriend is 50 years too late with that prediction - 'real Paul' died back in '60-something

Unknown said...

Is that Johnny Depp on the screen or am I having one of my dreams?

Kimba said...

That's okay Stepford, can't always be right.....waiting for exciting....

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

@kristin haha

Steampunk Jazz said...

Ok Kristin, don't make me grab your glass….. Just hang in and...
Aw fuck it , I'm going for a smoke...

JSierra said...

Steampunk I'll give you a pass just for today because you made me laugh.

Step The real Paul does not approve of this performance.

Anonymous said...

Oh dear ... Nancy is singing along but doesn't appear to know all the words :-/

Haha - look at Yoko ...

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

@stepforded good one! i will tell him that.

Anonymous said...

Yoko'll probably sue, saying he stole the lyrics from some catalogue John owned or something ...

Unknown said...

Look at Ono grooving to this shitty song! She's beloved here in Iceland.

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

@Jsierra nice

Anonymous said...

@JSierra - he's probably rolling in his grave over what Faul did to his hair ...

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

seriously, love you guys but deuces!

Unknown said...

The Camel did not approve.

p.s. If I think Jay Z is hot, does that mean I have a camel fetish?

Anonymous said...

Another one for our boy, @Derek Harvey! <3 Pharrell <3

Anonymous said...

Come on Lorde, Lordy, Lordeeee ...

Anonymous said...

Bruno!!!!!

@Renoblondeee - are you jumping up and down? :-)

Unknown said...

That's his consolation for not getting an AOT nod!

Steampunk Jazz said...

I haven't liked Paul since the Beatles broke up.

Anonymous said...

So is the lovely Jessica Bruno's other half? Nice tribute to his Mum there ... love Bruno :-)

JSierra said...

I like how they have all these other people singing the nominated songs. It gives us a break from the same shit we always hear and gives these actually talented people exposure.

Anonymous said...

Oh piss off, stupid Twitter woman!

Unknown said...

I need to start watching NCIS again. I miss Pauley Perrette's crazy.

Steampunk Jazz said...

So that would be 40 years?
: D

Unknown said...

METALLICA!

Anonymous said...

I agree JSierra, but it would be nice if they had their names captioned along the bottom of the clips or something - I mean, who are these emerging superstars?

missbunny said...

Jared Leto!

Beth said...

I'm late to the party...kind of lame tonight, am I right?

Anonymous said...

These Mortein fly ads are so annoying ... they must've scrambled to get the cool advertisers to pay for a slot during this telecast

Steampunk Jazz said...

O have visions of them dragging ho! Onstage like a WW1 vet..

Kimba said...

Hey Beth, it's not bad, we're better! Grab a glass

Steampunk Jazz said...

Yes beth,very lame

Anonymous said...

Hi Beth! No, it's been quite good ... there've been a couple of fantastic collaborations; I'm sure there will be more in the next 45 minutes ...

Anonymous said...

The Isley Brothers! I love their music ...

Steampunk Jazz said...

All I need is for Kris and Waylon to fuck up and my night will be complete...waste that is

Unknown said...

Please tell me it's time for Daft Punk.

Anonymous said...

Hey, Jeremy, 1994 called and want their leather jacket back ...

Unknown said...

This is not Daft Punk.

Anonymous said...

Oh FFS ... Willie Nelson??!!!

Time to feed the cats their dinner, methinks

Steampunk Jazz said...

Love this song!

TalksTooMuch said...

It's our Kris, ladies!

Unknown said...

Love me some Willie though. Have him and Snoop ever gotten together for a little relaxation I wonder?

Anonymous said...

Kris Kristofferson looks to be in pain ... crikey, this is just awful.

Hopefully these next two will rev things up ... not looking great though.

Where are all the gangsta rappers???

Anonymous said...

There's TTM! I thought you'd gone to bed too!

Kimba said...

Kris.....yikes, they've all lost their voices! Welcome backs TTM!

Anonymous said...

LOL!!!! Willie and Snoop - gosh, imagine them getting together for a collaboration of the music sort ... that would be a must-watch.

The audience are lapping these two up.

Kimba said...

Willie and Snoop have collaborated together, a few times, he's the original Dude! Cowboys!

Anonymous said...

Oh, wait - I know this song!

Katy Perry does too ... she looks happy ... is that Bradley Cooper standing behind Ringo Starr (checking his phone)?

Steampunk Jazz said...

Hate to say it but this is the Texas whup ass that I was raised on. Jsierra this is my Texas!

Anonymous said...

Blake has a sexy voice and a look to match ...

Oh look, Tricia and Macklemore like this song ...

Unknown said...

I will always be attracted to Sean Lennon. Met him last year in Reykjavík. He's just hot, can't explain it.

Unknown said...

@Kimba Seriously? I need to look that shit up!

Steampunk Jazz said...

Not too bad. Shelton did better than I thought. Kris man...you needed to do more shots :-D

Unknown said...

I think we all know this is going to Taylor.

Anonymous said...

Taylor isn't really 'country' though, is she?

Kelly said...

@step yes mam I am!

Unknown said...

Woooooohooooo!

Steampunk Jazz said...

TTM!

Anonymous said...

Oooooh - Taylor looked pissed before she realised the camera was on her ... great win for the Catt Sadler lookalike!

Unknown said...

Taylor is not winning AOT! Love this

Anonymous said...

PHARRRELLLLL!!!!

JSierra said...

Ahhh Steam now I get what you were saying earlier, I agree!! Nothing beats some good ole Texas country or Southern Gothic. I hate country, unless it's Texas or southern gothic.

Speaking of good country, we need a new Civil Wars album, please!

NPH! Is it safe to assume we are onto the musical portion of the awards?

Steampunk Jazz said...

Here we go!

Anonymous said...

Where is @Derek Harvey ...

Ooooh, Stevie Wonder too! Whooop!!!! Whoooop!!!!

*And up goes the volume*

Steampunk Jazz said...

Lololol jsierra

TalksTooMuch said...

Oooh, Pharrell's going through the change, voice keeps cracking

Kimba said...

BESTSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I bet a certain radio host here who I cannot stand is feeling stupid now, having commented a while back that she interviewed Pharrell and he was "stupid, didn't seem to know how to answer questions and probably wasn't destined for a long-standing career in the music industry". HA!!!!

The Grammys need to sell these collaborations on iTunes!

TalksTooMuch said...

I thought RoboCop, but it's reallly more like FanFic Analog style, isn't it?

Anonymous said...

It's so cool seeing the other musical superstars bopping away to the performances :-)

Kimba said...

See Yoko connecting????? It's a PARRRRTTYYY!

Anonymous said...

Renoblondeee, look at Bruno go ... dancing away! :-)

Steven Tyler is just so cool - he dances away to everyone and sometimes sings, too. He'd be an awesome party guest.

Steampunk Jazz said...

This song is so Earth Wind and Fire kicked up to me...

JSierra said...

One of two things is happening here:
1. Everyone is super fucked up, so everyone here must drink! Sorry guys it's a rule.
2. Everyone is getting paid by how enthusiastically they dance during this performance. Dance monkey, dance!

Unknown said...

This was everything I've been waiting for. Thank you France for doing one thing right and giving me Daft Punk.

Anonymous said...

Maybe they changed the collaborations ... because Lorde definitely said she'd be performing with David Bowie

Steampunk Jazz said...

That performance saved my night. Good jam!

Kimba said...

That performance reminded me when, a few Grammy's ago, Jay Z did the New York anthem, his performance built and built until everyone was vibeing and you could feel the electricity through the TV, this was something like that, everyone was GROOVING drunk or not, that was the BOMB.

Anonymous said...

Song of the Year up next, says my source. Watch out for Joel Little, for Lorde.

Anonymous said...

Lorde and Taylor Swift hugged after Lorde won her Grammy, apparently #Besties

Kristin Wigs said...

I turn on Housewives Nightie Knockout for 30 minutes and you guys are saying something actually happened at the Grammys?

Anonymous said...

There are so few of us left here, I can here the echoes ...

Drinks are on me! :-)

Sherry said...

Am.I too late to join the party?

Steampunk Jazz said...

Get it Carole! You go girl! Nice harmony with whosit

JSierra said...

That wasn't who I was expecting Cindy to announce.

Drink up bitches, because Cindy sounded a little wastey.

I hate Sarah's music with a passion unparalleled, but I really love her as a person. I also really like this version of Brave, the original one can disappear forever.

Anonymous said...

Here we go ...

Dum-de-dum-de-dum ... drum roll ...

Unknown said...

There were people on a forum I'm on actually saying that Taylor Swift is the next Carole King. I like Taylor's songs but no. No no no no no.

Anonymous said...

@Sherry

Come on in! :-)

JSierra said...

Omg girl crush solidified!! Sarah I love you! Just please stop making horrible music, you are really talented!

Unknown said...

I really want Pink to take this but i'll settle with Bruno/Lorde. Anyone but Katy really.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Hey sherry, we are hanging on but this last hour has been the best so you're in good time

Anonymous said...

And the Grammy goes to ...

Oh gosh, I love Macklemore and Bruno ...

But it goes to:

JOEL AND LORDE!!!!

Wooohoooooooo! xxxxxxxx

Kristin Wigs said...

Apparently not, Sherry? It was pretty boring the first 87 hours but apparently it's picking up?

Congrats @Step on the Lorde win!

JSierra said...

Hey Sherry!

Good call Step

Anonymous said...

Please let Joel speak ...

Yay! Good on ya Joel :-)

Anonymous said...

I think Ella is trying to sound British - she doesn't normally sound like that :-/

Kristin Wigs said...

Lorde is very Gaby Hoffman, non?

Unknown said...

So is Mary Lambert not singing with Macklemore? We get Madonna and Queen Latifah? Is she gonna get married to her girlfriend on stage? So many questions

JSierra said...

Agreed this last hour has been waaaay better than the first.

Lorde may say some stupid stuff in interviews but I am really impressed/refreshed by her excitement and genuine happiness at the awards tonight. She is extremely talented and deserves it.

Shout out to Marlena in the Chevy commercial right now!!

Anonymous said...

One more nomination for Lorde to come ...

I don't feel bad that Bruno and Macklemore didn't win because they've won soooo many other awards and their popularity is likely to remain, whereas Lorde's might fade ... especially as she relies on Joel to co-write her songs - she's not like Taylor Swift who is self-sufficient.

Anonymous said...

@Karen - the last time they performed this song, they had Jennifer Hudson do the vocals with Mary ... they might do something similar agin this time

Unknown said...

@Stepforded I really hope so, I love her voice.

Anonymous said...

I think people interpret Ella ("Lorde") as being uppity based on what they hear and see in the media and her image; the reality though, is she's very humble, down to earth and kind of ordinary. I always laugh when people guess the blinds about drugged-out tweens being her ... the reality could not be further than that.

Sherry said...

I'm living the Grammy's through you all since I'm on the road and all the posts are making the phone move very slowly. Sounds like I should kick the roommate away from the show for Downton Abbey. I will have a few drinks to catch up with everyone!

Kimba said...

Sads times....

Anonymous said...

Jared, please sing that next time ... it would add to your hotness :-)

Steampunk Jazz said...

Leto!!!!

Anonymous said...

Okay, time for the volume to go down ... right down low ... Metallica!

Kimba said...

And that was it for Lou Reed? Cool Metallica...

JSierra said...

I wish Jared was performing, 30 seconds to mars is a really talented and moving band, I don't care what the haters say. They sure as hell are better than Metalligag.

Unknown said...

The last time Metallica performed at the grammys Lorde wasn't even born.

TalksTooMuch said...

I fucking love Metallica

Steampunk Jazz said...

Wow

Anonymous said...

This dude looks far too clean cut to be a heavy rocker!

JSierra said...

Thank god I am not the only Metallica hater here. I honestly do not know how they have any fans.

JSierra said...

Damn TTM. I used to like you. Not any more.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Think they could turn up the Singers mike so we can hear the Song?!

Kimba said...

TTM is from Canada, you have to love Metalica or you'll get beat up, I converted years ago......rock on!

Anonymous said...

Taylor Swift has just Tweeted a very cute picture of her and Lorde

Unknown said...

I like some of their songs. My older brothers were huuuuuge Metallica fans and I grew up listening to them. Ditto for the boys at my school, every school dance was basically a Metallica concert.

Anonymous said...

LOL @ Kimba ... gosh, this is hurting my ears ... and I'm a self-confessed turn-it-up-loud-house-music-fanatic!

Steampunk Jazz said...

Damn if they didn't wake up the room!!!

TalksTooMuch said...

However, all the smirking is making it lose a little gravitas...

Anonymous said...

IS Steven's fly undone?

Count Jerkula said...

I like Metallica, but that was crap. Is Hetfield's voice shot, so they put his mic level so low you couldn't hear him sing?

Steampunk Jazz said...

Smokey looked like he had been hit with a fish! Completely non plusses :-D

Steampunk Jazz said...

Smokey looked like he had been hit with a fish! Completely non plusses :-D

Anonymous said...

Here we go ... here we go ... here we go ...

And the winner of record of the year goes to:

Pharrell and Daft Punk!

Woooohoooo!!!!!

Steampunk Jazz said...

Count! Nice of you to drop by :-D

Anonymous said...

Sorry for sounding smug and annoying about Lorde's wins tonight ... just really needing to celebrate a win after losing the America's Cup (yachting) last year! :-)

Unknown said...

Daft Punk!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Our Prime Minister will probably declare a public holiday - "Lorde Day" - and insist on her parading through the biggest cities on a float with her Grammy Awards - in celebration :-)

TalksTooMuch said...

JSierra, I am going to forgive you for hating me for Metallica, and imma gonna tell you why: you are too young to know what they were back in the day. Plus, I live in Canada AND Alberta, they wouldn't let me in unless I did some air guitar to One. That's right, I pulled the age card.

count: voice was totally shot!

Anonymous said...

@Karen - have you stopped jumping up and down and celebrating yet? :-)

They were awesome and SO deserved to win! :-)

JSierra said...

Step naahhhh you have the right to gloat! When a foreigner wins it is a real accomplishment versus a lot of Americans where it is all money and influence. Mostly money and influence, there are some who sneak by without their souls being sold or stolen. Don't shoot me!

Steampunk Jazz said...

The fact that they are going to make a lot of money on the album sales iS what keeps this thing going in overtime. Can't sell what wasn't heard, I guess

Unknown said...

@Stepforded I'm trying to handle myself with grace until album of the year is announced. I' probably break the floor if that one goes my way. ;)

Kimba said...

Steampunk, I thought the same of Smokey, super stunned! I loved how Steve Tyler did the shout/sing out, touching, but again Smokey was like "whaaat, that's my song..., huh, are we singing?"

How were the Ks Count?

Anonymous said...

@Sierra - :-) I couldn't help but notice on Swift's Twitter feed that there are already those replying to her photo, saying Lorde is the devil and what-not ... siiiiiigh ...

Anonymous said...

Cool - Super Fun Night is on tonight ... love Rebel Wilson! :-)

JSierra said...

TTM the words you speak are true. I was brought into being at the very end of the Metallica hayday so I will never understand the appeal. As for it being a Canadian requirement, we are stuck with JayZ and Beyonce. They play Holy Grail on the rock and alternative stations. All hope is lost.

Kristin Wigs said...

You have every right to be proud, @Step! We've been cheering for ya!

TalksTooMuch said...

Queen Latifah looks fantastic!

Anonymous said...

Get your dancing shoes ready, folks!!!! Here they come!

:-)

ninotchka said...

So this thing runs over?

I just tuned in and am currently being tortured by Beyonce Knowles.

Oh here's her gangster husband. At least he's better than she is, I can't believe she even has a career singing like that.

Oh no wait, there's Madonna. I guess I can believe Beyonce's got a career.

Anonymous said...

@Karen, I thought that was the Album of the Year?

Wow - Mary's voice!!!! Beautiful ...

JSierra said...

Soooo where is everyone being married?? Huh?! You disappoint me, informants!

You go Mary!!

TalksTooMuch said...

Macklemore uses his hands the same way my four-year-old does. Voluptuous hottie singing backup needs her mike turned up

JSierra said...

So Blurred Lines gets a standing O and the only people standing during Same Love are those onstage? MMMhmm I see you Grammys. I see you.

TalksTooMuch said...

It's like visiting my Grade 9 dance in a time warp, with that string tie and hair

JSierra said...

Ahhh shit!!!!! I may cry.

Steampunk Jazz said...

That backup singers is in a flattering gown . she looks beautiful

ninotchka said...

Just look at the audience, JS, it's... um... very pale.

Anonymous said...

... But they didn't say their vowels!

Madge looks rough ... really rough ... why's she acting elderly?

TalksTooMuch said...

They're all crying! Maybe me a little tiny bit

JSierra said...

And Madonna. It's perfect. Damn onion cutting ninjas.

Kimba said...

Yeah Gays! Lucky bitches having the Madge sing to you.

Anonymous said...

Hahahahaha - Madge can't sing as well as Mary! So there you go ...

TalksTooMuch said...

Remember when Madonna's music was fun?

Anonymous said...

Some of those audience members did not look impressed (not Katy Perry - she looked ecstatic)

ninotchka said...

What is with all the stupid hats?

JSierra said...

Nino maybe it's just the lightening? Doubt it...

Kristin Wigs said...

I was on another channel. What's with the crying?

Anonymous said...

Oh, Album of the Year IS still to come ... wrong again ...

Darn TV guide said this was meant to finish at 5pm; now it says 5:30pm ... #ThingsToDo

TalksTooMuch said...

John Mayer just pooped his pants when Katy Perry caught that bouquet so happily

ninotchka said...

Sort of, TTM, but she was always a cunt among cunts. Material Girl was a loooooong time ago. Bitch still can't sing worth a damn.

TalksTooMuch said...

That was so touching

Kelly said...

Oh good Lord that was sweet!

Steampunk Jazz said...

@ ninotchka, going on 3 1/2 hours :-\

JSierra said...

Okay, I'm gonna take a smoke break. Be back in 30 for the end!!

Unknown said...

Oh my. My eyes may have peed a little.

@Stepforded, no that was records of the year which I think is the same thing as song of the year. I'm don't understand myself. I think song of the year is for the songwriter and record of the year is for the producer/mixer.

TalksTooMuch said...

Well, she never COULD sing, as a singer she was a great dancer, but her music used to be fun at least. It was kind of excruciating when she was butchering the part there with the hook singer who actually CAN sing

ninotchka said...

Yeah, that's it JS. Light-en-ing. ;p

Oh here's that Lorde chick Step was talking about. She seems a bit different. Good.

Kristin Wigs said...

Steampunk, help a sista out! I went into excruciating detail on Golden Globe dresses for you! What. Just. Happened.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Madonna sounded shaky and thin. I think this is the first time we've heard her sing in 20 years...:-D

TalksTooMuch said...

30 minutes? What are you smoking, a hookah?
