amazonblue said...: Earth day was started in 1970 by a US Senator utilizing the grassroot student movement to increase awareness and foster appreciation for the environment.

At that time there were no governmental agencies overseeing the status of the environment. The EPA was created by Richard Nixon shortly after the first earth day. Subsequent legislation such as The Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act quickly followed.

Earth day has grown into a global event and has gained popularity with the increasing concern of climate change.

I love you and know that although you may change climate as you will we HUMANs are causing severe effects and if the ignorant people who commented would look at how if we embraced a green movement this would add jobs and increase better air to breathe in and help keep enviroments going for our animal friends instead of believing in a conspiracy theory or taking blame off their shoulders and saying its all 'natural' (which is a load of shit) if these people stopped saying all that crap, it would indeed be a beautiful Earth Day.
