Game Of Thrones. I need to talk to someone about last night's episode. Wow.

Oberyn Martell really was the Inigo Montoya of Westeros. I'm gonna miss that beautiful bastard.
I dont think we should do spoilers here.
That's why you should never start celebrating at the 10-yard line. Or something.
I love how Pedro Pascal portrayed Oberyn - he was clearly set up to be a fan favorite character. I love the direction that Sansa is headed; becoming a shrewd "player" of the Game. In the books it is more obvious that she is smart and uses her coy girlishness as an armor; however in the show she came across as meek/weak. The Wall sort of bores me. I hope the entire next week's episode does not focus on it. Also, as always my heart aches for Lord Friendzone.
So.... anyone want to high jack this and talk Kings vs Rangers or The Fall of the House of Wirtz with me?
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm afraid to watch. :( So, my beloved Red Viper slaughters The Mountain and Tyrion is set free, right?
There's gonna be spoilers - we're talking about last night's episode.
I've read the books and knew what was going to happen. I'm not a fan of violence and left the room when it started. I SERIOUSLY hoped the writers would stay true to their word that some of the book events would change, but nope, those lying liars stuck to the story and took out my beautiful Pedro Pascal. :(
If they don't stick with the story from here out and that a*hole stays alive, we may have a problem.
@SevenofEleven what a*hole?
Rangers in 6
It was definitely cringe-inducing. I will be devastated if Tyrion dies, but am looking forward to seeing Sansa become a power player.
Reek gave me nightmares last night. They epic eyeball smash I can do. "Re-Re-they call me Reek" freaks me out.
Don't want spoilers? Go away.
I feel bad for the non book readers..I was prepared for the sads but I got several texts last night from friends who only watch the show, they were pissed.
Seven- I agree, if it doesn't go down like the books, its gonna be bad news bears. I knew they were going to kill him off but this means Sand Snakes next year! Huzzah!
Haven't watched it yet, but I knew what was coming due to the books. I'm planning on having company again tonight to watch it with me just so I can watch their reaction, just like I did with The Red Wedding.
God the popping of the Prince's head... too much! I was all like ooooh yeah during the fight when he got him down and then my ooooh yeah turned into an ear piercing shriek and I couldn't even go to sleep right away. Ugh.
Oh and it's about time Sansa got with the program. Being a naive little princess wasn't doing her any good. Is the Hound going to bring Arya inside the Veil? THEY ARE SO CLOSE!
I may not be able to watch any more "Game of Thrones" for awhile. There's only so much one can take.
I had to stop watching, "The Walking Dead" after Season 4 for awhile. I couldn't even get 10 minutes into episode 6. How could such a good show with such a great premise end up sucking so badly? I'm only going back for the two hotties. I hope this doesn't happen to GOT.
I know with GOT, the fault lies largely with GRRM, but when a creator starts offing and needlessly torturing favorite characters without relief in order to justify pulling another wayward plotline out of their ass (that is not creative at all, btw), then the ability for viewers/readers to care about the overall story becomes seriously diminished.
If GRRM is going to kill someone off, how about the blonde twit with the dragons? Her storyline is incredibly boring and kind of panders to the "Great White Hope" myth. Give the dragons to someone less annoying. /rantover
It was eye-popping.
@Hammer_Girl, that's Joffrey evil right there! I did it with the Red Wedding, too. {evil grin}
@Virginia, I won't spoil it for you but let's just say "just desserts". :D
@Ray, I know! My SO hasn't read the books and he gets all "WTH?!". I told him that even though Stephen King (amongst many others) said "kill your darlings", GRR Martin has honed the phrase to a fine point.
@Kristin, he's such a freak! I told someone he's worse than Joffrey and they scoffed like no one is worse than Joffrey. Oh, you just wait.
no I love the Khaleesi
that is just madness^^^^^
Tyrion can't die! What happens in the book? I seriously don't think they could replace him. He's a dwarf with star quality. That's unique and adds so much to the story. At least the mountain is dead and I hope Arya and Sansa meet soon but I bet that'll be in the finale. Not sure how that can be dragged out but it would make for a great finale!
Haven't seen it yet, but knew it was coming. Like the Red Wedding, if you've read the books, you know Oberyn dies but putting it on film makes it feel more "real" if that makes sense. But yes excited for the sand snakes next season!!
My son read all the books and tells me that there are more surprises to come!
I've read all the books. All I will say is that Tyrion and another character who got the business end of the royal boot this week will meet. But, sadly, Arya and Sansa will not. So far.
Ramsay is the worst. He is evil. So much worse than Joffrey.
Is it very true to the books?
I KNOW. That's all I could think about when he was prancing around.
You killed my father
Prepare to die! ;)
I had nightmares too! I was like nooo don't say your name you're gonna get in trou...oops too late for him!
I was PISSED OFF at the end. To me it looked they were BOTH dead. Wouldn't that be a "hung jury"?
FUCK Tywin!
No, they're going left with a lot of stuff. Like what Varys did with the guy who cut off his junk. They're giving answers that weren't in the book like who killed Joffrey & Jon Aryn.
That's what hubby said, it's a tie!
Two incredibly shocking and disappointing things:
1: Apparently, George RR Martin has gone on the record that he was deliberately emulating Inigo Montoya in that scene in the books. Yes, that's right, he deliberately gutted the drama of his own scene by making it a "Movie Parody" moment.
2: That isn't the real accent of the actor who played The Viper. No, the producers of the show, when they hired him, actually went out of their way to tell him, "Whatever you do, make sure you always sound as much as possible like Mandy Patinkin in The Princess Bride. We know this is a fantasy world, and there's no such thing as Spain in it, but sound as much as you can like a comedy-movie Spaniard, because later on in the season, we need your voice to undermine your death scene by making it a huge joke like the "movie montage" scene in The Sweetest Thing!"
Tasty move, geniuses!
I totally turned away at the eye gouging scene..Too much!
Now I've read spoilers and I'm sad...Bummer..Love that little imp!
Glad Sansa smartened up though.
@Sherry, don't be bummed. If they stick to the story, the god of tits and wine isn't going to the great castle in the sky anytime soon. :)
Too many people here who either didn't watch the episode yet or who haven't read the books. *shrugs* SPOILER....Tyrion doesn't die...and while they made it look like the Mountain died alongside Oberyn...he doesn't, although he is poisoned(Oberyn isn't called the red viper for nothing!)and mortally wounded. A nice slow death for that bastard!
@Bunni -- the books do say who killed Joffrey & Jon Aryn. HOWEVER, in the books, Sansa's identity remains a secret.
@Tenisha and speculation is that the Mountain doesn't die at all and returns later in a similar capacity.... I wont ruin it for show watchers.
FYI: Pedro Pascal does not have an accent, even though he was born in Chile. I don't know what actors they are looking at for the rest of Oberyn Martell's family, but they are scouting Spain as a location for season 5.
I thought Pedro Pascal was very good in the role and I am sorry to see him go. The fight was just as bad in the books, so no, it was not surprising to me as to what happened.
Outside of the Mountain, Red Viper, and Tyrion-the rest of the episode sucked. Sophie Turner was really good in her scenes, but if the Lannisters are looking for Sansa, why in the world would Littlefinger have her say who she really is? And would Littlefinger openly declare his "I hate Tywin Lannister" feelings to Vale Lords that he's not sure he can trust? I thought the scene between Khaleesi and Jorah would have been more emotional.
And the hound saying who he is and who Arya is to the guards at the Vale was dumb especially since in the Red Wedding episode he disguised himself as a merchant and Arya as his daughter and attempted to get in that way, in retrospect-obviously a good idea-or they never would have gotten out of there alive. But considering that the notable Starks are dead, why would he and Arya reveal their true identities?
Th black chick's tits were very nice, and her ass appeared quite edible. Especially after being dipped in the fresh water of the creek.
If we go an entire season w/o Khaleesi's tits, I will be highly disappointed. Rope us in w/ all this sex and nudity, then yank the rug out from under our feet? F-U HBO. 90% of the nudity this season has been no name ancillary characters. A whore here or there, WTF!? Get that Wildling redhead flaunting the fire crotch. Have that Tyrell broad catch some dick while she waits for King Tommen to get old enough.
P.S. If they don't give us some parting shots of Sookie's tits and ass during the last season of True Blood, I might just cancel HBO.
Zombie Mountain ...
@Count, I hate to break your poor Jerktastic heart, but....
Daenerys Nudity: Emilia Clarke Won't Allow Any More Khaleesi Naked Scenes In 'Game Of Thrones' Season 4
Who's dead and who's not? Surprises to come in the near future (last episode, probably).
I liked the scene with the Lannister brothers reminiscing. The only people on this show who actually seem to like each other and aren't just conversing in order to further an agenda. They should have a spin-off.
Why doesn't GRRM tweet?
Because he's already killed 140 characters.
I wondered why he was showboating when he should have got on with it. Shouldn't Tyrion technically win since he did die in the end? Also, what is Arya going to do now that her aunt is dead?
Virginia, i agree with much of what u said. I too am bored by the wall. All i keep saying is " who built the wall?", and hubby keeps saying "be quiet and watch the show!@ lol.
@Count, the Opster feels the same way. The dearth of breasts and naked women is turning him off the show.
Yes gator and wig, that whole reek thing is a mindf*cker. That actor deserves an emmy, big time.
It followed the book beautifully….
Mad, are referring to Daniyers???!!!!!! O love her and hope she wins. Altho Tyrion and sansa wld be awesome as king and queen as well.
For all of you who havent read the books, go to wickipedia and read the synopsis of the BOOKS. Still a coupla hours, lol
@virginia I have zero plans to read the books but I just want you to know that at least one person is curious about what happens in the books. Nobody knows when the show writers will stray so I don't feel it matters. I'm just curious
Did Benioff and other writer dude ever say what the game plan is once the show catches up with the books? It's getting really close, no?
@7: Well I hope she is ready for a negative internet campaign.
I'm with you sandybrook, rangers in 6. NYC will finally put an end to this NYC vs LA nonsense and declare itself the superior city.
OMG....the visual totally caught me by surprise, (worse than I've seen on the Walking Dead), I couldn't sleep! I think what's here name is pg with Jon Snow's baby, and I love how Sansa's chararacter is coming along and Arya's laugh at the end was so funny.
Did that would be awesome if the redhead IS pregnant with John Snow's baby.
Sherry, trust me, it wld not be awesome.
I love what a wonderful little psycho Arya is becoming...whomever writes the scenes with her and the Mountain needs a stand alone Emmy...
I love this show! This is one of the shows that I wish would never go on hiatus. Last year, I saved up a couple of episodes to watch all at once because they're always over too soon for me. I am dying to read the books but will not start until GRRM finishes the series. I'm afraid I'll get almost all the way through and he will die and leave me hanging.
How can the redhead be pregnant by Snow, when all he did was munch her box?
Not awesome at all, nope
As soon as Clegane re-awoke I covered my eyes and didn't look up until te credits. Thanks God I didn't!
I see what you did there
Yes! They both died so no decision!
You diligent show watchers and book readers may be able to shoot down this theory, but I've always maintained that Jon Snow is the product of Robert Baratheon (too lazy to look up the spelling) and Ned's sister.
I can't find the exact Season 1 quote from Ned, but I feel like he hedged his blood relationship with Snow when asked. That's make Jon the Baratheon heir because - you know - incest babies.
Probably wrong, but then again I also believe Beyoncé had a pillow baby.
I was watching thinking of that bike cycling guy a few weeks back who started celebrating and then realized the finish line was still a ways off! !!
I'm glad I don't read the books. I like not knowing and I don't go to spoiler sites either. I want to be surprised
Oh and I am loving the Sansa / uncle lover thing going on. Love her transition
That's what I thought 2!! Acquitted on a technicality. Tyrion has to be pardoned.
One can only hope
I thought Ned's sister and Prince Rhaegar, but he got burned by some fire in season 1 or 2 saving some dude at The Wall from an undead guy, so if he is, he aint no True Dragon, like the Khaleesi. Especially w/ that dark hair.
Ned's sister didn't like the drunken, carousing Baratheon, so I doubt she would have boned him unless she had to, like after marriage. BUT, if Snow was known to be a Targaryen, he would have been killed like all the others, Ned's nephew or not, so there would be a reason for Ned to protect him by claiming Jon as his own. Ned had to much honor to be boning whores.
These are just my thoughts. I never read one of the books.
Did you see where he tweeted to Kimye that he didn't understand why he didn't get an invite to the wedding because "He's great at weddings"
Highlarious
Obvious red wedding reference and purple wedding death scene
The Sundance channel has a show called the writers room and they did a got edition. Kinda interesting check it out
I thought maybe ned's sister and circy's husband the king that died that didn't father Joffre and the lot.
That would make him the true heir right?
