Shape Editor Backs Down - Says LeAnn Is Great
Apparently the Shape Magazine editor, Valerie Latona, has no spine. When LeAnn Rimes started tweeting on Friday about how Valerie apologized to the readers for putting LeAnn on the cover, while at the same time Valerie was hosting a party this week for LeAnn celebrating her cover, Valerie broke down. Valerie said her words to the readers were taken out of context and that she was thrilled to have LeAnn on the cover for the third time and that LeAnn is compelling and blah blah blah. She also said that only 40 readers complained and that millions of readers loved that LeAnn was on the cover.
Wow, I don't know what kind of threats Valerie got, but this is LeAnn Rimes we are talking about here. I don't understand why Valerie is sticking up for her so much. Like there are not a million other celebrities you could place on the cover with the same cut and paste exercise or how to lose weight in 10 days stories that accompany them. Now Valerie just looks like a waffling idiot who LeAnn managed to toss around like a rag doll.

She was a punk for apologizing the first time. She never should have apologized in the first place and should have stood by her decision to have Leann on the cover. I could give a damn what Leann did with Eddie, thats between them and their ex-spouses. Everyone needs to move the fuck on and get the fuck over it.
You know, it's been my experience that I have never had to apologize for keeping my mouth shut.
I hate people who talk out of both sides of their mouth. Just pick a side and stand by it. When you waffle like this you look like an asshole and lose any kind of credibility you might have had. Someone needs to put that dumb bitch in her place.

I feel like some sort of affair-apologist, but I still don't understand the outrage over these two. Leanne is like C-list at best. And Eddie... does he even rate as F-list? Yeah, yeah, they lied when originally confronted about the affair. But seriously, who the hell cares what these two are doing?
As to the Shape editor, I went back and re-read her original "apology". It was half-hearted at best and only sent to the (apparently 40-odd) people that complained. She did what any publicist did - if you read what she wrote, she never actually apologized for putting Leanne on the cover. Only apologized that they were offended.

I personally thought LeAnn looked terrible on the cover. Her body was squarish and she was obviously pulling in her gut. She doesn't have a body (or a life - married a gay guy, then had a public affair with a married one ) that I aspire to at all.
I could give two shits less. In fact, that's actually two shits too many... I could care less.

I think it's funny that Angelina Jolie doesn't get the same kind of flack for stealing a woman's husband taht LeAnn Rimes does. I suppose it all depends on your level of fame and influence. It's hypocritical. And too eerily puritanical for this day and age.
The reason you can't compare this affair with Angelina & Brad's is because LeAnn and Eddie were BOTH married when this happened. And Eddie has young kids involved. It seems their spouses were completely blindsided by the affair, as opposed to Jen since they have both admitted there were issues before Angelina came into the picture.
It any case, celebrity or not, it's just bad taste. These two completely flaunted their affair and now relationship and don't seem remorseful over the loss of their marriages at all. LeAnn could have easily left Dean once the feelings for Eddie started. I think she was just hanging on to him in case Eddie wouldn't have ended up leaving his wife for LeAnn.
Ugh, I'm kind of annoyed that anyone even gives her attention.
Okay, Garth and Trisha don't get the grief the LeAnn does...

Garth was married, had young kids, Trisha was married. Both Garth & Trisha are bigger than LeAnn & Eddie are. (Sorry, LeAnn, I do like you).
And Garth and Trisha were grown. LeAnn seemed (seems) very naive...

I'm with you, mymyselfandi. Why people continue to paint Angie as the devil has never made sense to me.
What is compelling is that this couple's back story has garnered so much attention for so long. All from making Lifetime's Northern Lights. :)
Hopefully Valerie learned a valuable lesson from this mess.
