It's Official - No More Sarah Palin
Sunday night was the final night for the Sarah Palin reality show on TLC. Oh sure, there will be a bunch of cobbled together specials and whatever else the network can do to get a few more ratings out of the show, but the actual weekly thing is over. I love how TLC says that it was always going to be a one year thing. Uh huh. Please. They would have loved as many years as they could have got. Instead, it looks like Sarah will probably run for President. If that whole thing does not work out though, I am pretty sure TLC would be happy to have her back.

Does she really think she has a chance at the Presidency? Wow. I would think there is a Constitutional Amendment banning anyone who has had contact with Kate Gosselin.

I'm pretty pissed off this morning. Turns out you can see Russian from her yard. Yep, the Russian Mountains are about a mile away. To further piss me off, it is common knowledge that in Wasilla, Teens and college students dance on the Russian side of Bering Strait Ice Sheet just to piss off Russian Soldiers.

Seriously, of all the potential "R" candidates, she is by far the last who should be condsidered. If not for the Kate G association, then for the reason that there are at least 100 other contenders with smarter heads on their shoulders.

I have heard Sarah Palin say the show would only be a one time deal for 6 episodes from the get go. Even before it first aired. She never had any plans on doing anything more with it.
I will definitely vote for her if she runs for President. The woman has guts!

well, she got a whole season to campaign on national TV with her little digs (like about michele obama's anti-obesity campaign) and instead of having to raise money for airtime, she got paid to do it!

Good Lord, can we get a couple of other brainless, bimbos to run for President too, in order to split up the idiot vote and confuse those people who'd just as well vote for a ham sandwich than a viable, intelligent, qualifiewd human being for President? Teh Stupid is killing America.
She hasn't got a prayer....soooooo stupid, however that said she is one sly mama....and knows how to squeeze as much $$$$$ as she can from any opportunity ...and that is why we will not see the last of her for a long while.
While she is very popular with her followers, it seems she is not very popular with the longtime, loyal Republican voters who participate in the primary process. She has very high negatives. Some will say that Bill Clinton was polling very low prior to the 92 Dem primary, which is true, but he did not have high negatives. High negatives can kill you in politics, especially when members of your own party are poised to call you a quitter every chance they get.
If Senator Marco Rubio starts to get the press as the real Tea Party leader (since he actually holds an office) then her political capital could drop enough to affect her fundraising and keep her out of the race. Unfortunately, the Republicans don't seem to have a 'personality' that can take her place, just a stable of typical middle aged white men. Pawlenty might be the best chance, but I don't know if he can come off as 'exciting' enough.

Um, let me introduce you to MN Rep Michelle Bachman. She is just like Palin, except she's also batshit crazy. And she's running for President.
I am not saying I think that her retoric had something to do with the shootings, but I thought it was so stupid how her staffer went out and said "oh, no, those were never bullseyes or targets at ALL" - and one simple look at Sarahs twitter or facebook feeds shows you how she calls them bullseyes and targets herself.
As for the show - only saw clips, but how well did it do in the ratings?
To go from having people like George Washington and ending up with someone like Sarah Palin. Now that is sad.
Jamie's Girl, Russia is probably 500 miles from Wasilla. Wasilla is near Anchorage, which is center-East in the state. If Wasilla teens were doing that to tease Russians, they would have to make a long & special trip to do so.

I have a question - if any other politician had a picture of the United States with targets on them representing politicians who voted for something he/she is against and one of those "targets" is assassinated, wouldn't that politician be shamed and thrown out of politics?

The hubbub that Sarah Palin stirs in people cracks my shit up.
First of all, the show was the highest rated show ever on TLC, so who could fault TLC or Sarah Palin for milking it for all it's worth.
And the fact that Sarah Palin used the word "target" in her campaign strategy does not mean she supports assassination attempts or violence. Words like that are used all the time in politics. I'm not saying it's right, but politics gets dirty - for BOTH parties. And, I'll take my free speech over political correctness any day, thank you very much.
As a New Jerseyian and an independent, I sincerely hope that Chris Christie runs for president, because he does not take anybody's bullshit. For selfish reasons, I hope he stays in New Jersey, but I would find it quite fascinating if he throws his hat into the presidential ring.

I think the idea of Sarah Palin is a lot more scary than the actual person... I mean, the person (Sarah Palin) is as dumb as a bag of rocks. She's not intimidating in the least because most people could run circles around her. However, the idea of Sarah Palin is incredibly scary. The fact that she has any political relevancy or stock whatsoever is terrifying because A) some people actually listen to her in earnest and B) someone much smarter is behind the scenes coordinating and perpetuating this ridiculousness. I am seriously afraid of what could happen if there are enough people out there to vote for this woman. Someone please convince me that this can't happen - I don't want to have to move out of America but I sure will if I have to!
All politics pushed to the side, I have to say I did enjoy her show. My chances of getting up to Alaska are pretty slim, so I did enjoy seeing the beauty of the state and all the adventures one can enjoy while there. It was about time someone did a show that featured America's Last Frontier.
And trust me people, you don't want Bachmann running for President. If it was a pick between her and Palin, I'd take Palin in a heartbeat. Watch Bachmann's interviews - she never answers a question!

@ KLM, I think as a whole, the U.S. tends to want their president to be in the middle on most issues. Extreme liberalism and extreme conservatism seem to cause problemos when it comes to presidents, in my humble opinion. So, in that regard, I would be shocked if Palin actually got the nomination for the Republican party. Of course, this is just my observation and could be totally wrong. But, please don't leave on account of politics! Politicans come and go.
@ Susan - thanks - it makes me feel a little better. I travel a bit and when W was still president, I always hid my American passport below my husband or my son's Dutch passports. When Obama became president, it was the first time I was proud to be an American again in a while!

The only reason this complete moron has any chance at the presidency is that people in the US with lower IQ's are popping out babies at a much faster rate than people in the US with high IQ's. Our country is being repopulated by the dumbest of the dumb and it shows.

For context for those who don't know anything about Michelle Bachmann, she's the one who said BP were wimps for setting aside money to pay for the victims of the oil spill.

Mooshki - Thanks for pointing out the gun sights, but again, this doesn't really cause me dismay. It is Sarah Palin's right to create that chart. I'm sure it's being used as a tactical metaphor and I just don't find that offensive. Callous and not my style, but not offensive.
I think our country would be a better place if people tried to accept and respect those with differing opinions - even those people who support Sarah Palin or the Tea Party. They are entitled to their opinion, and we should all respect that. And debating different points of view is what makes our nation great. We don't all have to agree.
I don't think it's just Sarah Palin's targets and crosshairs, but the whole atmosphere of hate, fear and intolerance that spews from the mouths of pundits and politicians in this country. Looking for that "Second Amendment Fix" is enough to incite a riot of the unstable, uneducated, mouth-frothing, gun-toting people looking for a fight... any fight. When did it become unpopular to elect people with strong leadership qualities and good ideas? Half of the newly elected Congress were voted in because the cheerleaders at the pep rally told them to.

It is certainly her right to say it and my right to state that I think her comments were disgraceful and hateful. I cannot stand Obama and didn't vote for him, but he was voted by the citizens of this country and stand by him as our president, like it or not. It is a shame that there are so many Americans ashamed of being American. We are the greatest country in the world. Mistakes? Sure. But still the very best country in the world and I thank God each day that I wasn't born in some other country, particularly countries where woman are so oppressed, like in some parts of the Middle East and Asia. I stand behind my comments to defend our country's honor to those who so willingly admit they are ashamed.
@Hannah-I like Palin because I think she is one of the toughest women I have seen in a long time. She is a conservative woman who isn't afraid to say it and that scares a lot of people. People love to blow her foibles out of propotion, but there are plenty of foibles out there committed by the likes of Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, etc... I mean there are many who have no problem with Clinton getting a piece on the side in the Oval Office from a young intern, but just can't stop talking about Sarah Palin stating she could see Alaska from her house (see never said that!) I agree with her policies. I think she is an amazing woman who overcomes every seeming insurmountable obstacle people throw in front of her. I see her evolving as a person, as a politician and as a potential candidate. Will I vote for her? That's a big if at this point. I need to say more come the primaries. But at this point, I have absolutely no reservations about her as President. It will be interesting to see just how many will be awestruck at her election if it does happen and what to do then? It will sure make for great reading!

To me, the definition of an idiot is those people who jumped the gun on blaming Sarah Palin for the tragedy before any of the facts were even in. Now it is plain knowledge that her map had NOTHING to do with what this psycho did. NOTHING!! Yet there are still lots of people who just want to let it go. It reminds me of the commercial with the two little kids trying to get a square peg into a round hole and the one boy's advice is "just keep hitting it!"

Hi Ice Angel - I having been thinking about your response to me for days now because for my life I'm not sure why (especially on an entertainment blog) someone's patriotism could erupt so voraciously and elicit such a response. However, I am actually fine with that aspect of your response to me. I do, however, want to mention that since you brought up how "disgraceful" I am for being ashamed of George W. Bush (and, during his tenure, hiding my American passport below my husbands or sons), I think it is pretty disgraceful for a stranger online to bring up someone's child and suggest that this child should leave the country (and move back to the Netherlands). If you want to bash me for not believing in the same things as you, go ahead - I could not care less what you think about me. But don't bring up my kid or suggest he should leave this country because of something I said. Period. That is the epitome of disgraceful.
