Blind Item #3

What almost A list actor who has made his fame on a very hit show in which he has now left, but also does movies when he is not battling his demons was spotted at a bar this past week with his kids. The actor was getting drunk on rum and cokes while his two kids fussed. The actor stayed for two hours drinking and told the staff his kids loved going everywhere with him. Finally they convinced him he should move on and he had a car service come pick him up. He did tip about $500.

First time poster...and maybe a bad guess but, Charlie Sheen?

Brea McCain said...

Hi Unknown. I was thinking Charlie too.

Rebecca Black said...

I'm just glad he had a car service pick him up instead of driving himself.
Far too many of these fools insist on driving drunk.

Opie said...

How old are Keifers kids? Sounds like him a good tipper too.

Charlie Sheen was not "almost A" list when he was on Two and a Half Men. He was A or A+. And, apart from a cameo here and there (Scary Movie 5), he's still mostly TV, not film.

Alicia said...

Did Charlie make his fame on Men though? I, along with many others, grew up with Sheen being a straight up movie star. That being said.. I have no idea still ..

MrWolf said...

It sounds like something Charlie would do, but I think Sheen's full on A list, if not A+ in the TV world. Plus I don't think he made his fame in TV, he had a pretty solid movie career and big family ties before 2 and a half men.

I think this might be Hugh Lawrie? Didn't House fold recently and hasn't he previously had drinking issues?

B said...

Steve Carell?

msgirl said...

Charlie did not make his name on Men. Kiefer doesn't have young kids who would fuss. It also sounds like the show is still going on. For some reason I'm thinking Grey's?

Eric Dane?

ekb4409 said...

I read this as McSteamy.

Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Platoon, Wall Street, Young Guns, Major League +, Hot Shots! +, The Three Musketeers, Being John Malkovich, Scary Movie 3+, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps...

timebob said...

i'm on the Eric Dane train also. I think they had kids thinking it would cure their drug and drinking demons but no dice.

Unknown said...

So stupid question since I have popped my posting cherry...how do I change the unknown name to something else?

supapimp said...

I think you need to update your blogger profile. Good luck

Unknown said...

That sounds like so much work...thanks tho!

What about Patrick Dempsey?

I don't think this is Hugh Laurie, his children are grown up, so not of an age to be fussing. I believe the reason his wife stayed in England when he was filming House was that the youngest kid was sitting exams, so that would make the youngest 16 at least. Also, not heard anything about him being a dipso - anyone got anything on that?

BlindItemMe said...

I may be way off but I interpreted the blind that the kids were older and therefore were fussing over him or did I read that completely wrong? I'd hate to think it's keifer but I'm sure enty's mentioned demons when referencing him, but would you say he found his fame on 24? Argh I just don't know with this one

nancer said...

i don't read this as grown 'kids'. i read it as fussy children. they got bored while daddy drank and became fussy.

portlandjewel said...

I'm thinking you guys are right about this being Charlie Sheen... It doesn't say the show ended only that he's not on it anymore...

kvr said...

I see this as Eric Dane too. He has been to rehab with famous demons-remember the hot tub crack smoking? He got almost A list status from Grey's-which he recently left, and has two kids.

Charlie Sheen left Men quite a while ago so I wouldn't say he 'now left', he is or at least has been A/A+ not almost A, and he was famous way before 2 and 1/2 Men.

I'm a long time (6 years) lurker and only occasionally post. So, Hello!

Lot's of possibilities on this one.

How about this question:

What son of an A+ actor and singer, who'd had a his own top 30 hits and won a Golden Globe for best new actor, was killed in an F-4 Phantom II along with his weapons officer?

Colleen said...

McSteamy was the first and only person I thought of for this. Makes sense given his history (the part we know about) and his kids would be what - 2 and 4?

BreeB714 said...

this is not Sheen.. he DOES NOT drive, 100% chauffeur all the time..

AnnWithoutAnE said...

Sean Bean? He's got 3 kids, but that doesn't mean they all went along. Two are with one lady and one with another. Plus, "battling his demons"...

Roman Holiday said...

@ George Turner, do you have the answer?

Nancy said...

Sean Bean's oldest two daughters are in their 20's and the youngest one is a teenager, so this is not him. I am on the Eric Dane train here too.

brittiany said...

I don't know! Please tell.

George Turner said...

@Roman Holiday,

Dean Paul Martin, Dean Martin's son. He also played in the juniors at Wimbledon and married Dorothy Hammill. He was a captain in the Calif. Air NG and crashed during a snowstorm. :(

Check his wiki. Quite interesting.

eric dane?

Lee Tanner said...

This sounds like Eric Dane, but I can only think of 2 movies he was in--open water 2 and that Christina Aguilara/Cher movie.

Not sure Sheen is allowed to see his kids unsupervised.

misspoppypants said...

Lucas also or was it Goonies? Wasnt he in one if them?

ElRod said...

Since when was Eric Dane almost "A" list... he is B-/C at best... I doubt this is him...

If it was a "bar" then little children wouldn't be allowed. I can see them being in their teens and the bar allowing the celeb to get away with it but not wee little ones.

It says bar not restaurant.

john b. said...

Charlie Sheen was not in Apocalypse Now, but his dad was.

tracynator said...

Dean Martin Jr., aka Dino..he was married to Dorothy Hamill at one time. :p

Jamie 2 said...

So he got drunk (in front of what sound like adult kids), he ordered a car service and didn't drive, and he tipped the waiters $500.

I don't see anything wrong with this.

PookieTwo said...

I second the Matthew Fox guess. He has two children but I'm unsure what ages they would be.

meredith said...

I immediately thought of Eric Dane.

surfer said...

I too thought of Dino Martin. Good question, George Turner!

califblondy said...

There's a blurred line between bars/restaurants like Chili's or Applebee's, maybe he was in a place like that?

BlindItemMe said...

Oh of course, yep completely misread that blind, Thanks @nancer. :)

Robin the Mad Photographer said...

Leaving aside the issue of why an almost A-lister would be at Chili's or Applebee's--I know, I sound like a snob, but I get the distinct impression that most celebrities of that rank wouldn't be caught dead in a chain restaurant, unless it's something like In-and-Out after the Oscars (hello, Hilary Swank!)--I've known a number of bars where younger (read: pre-teen) children were allowed in, since it was obvious that they were with their parents and not going to be served alcohol (a Shirley Temple, sure!); usually these were more pub-type bars as opposed to the kind of bar where slamming down drinks was the only attraction. I'm guessing the kids were perhaps elementary school age, which is old enough to not be running screaming around the joint, but young enough to get bored and fidgety if they were stuck w/their drunk dad in a place w/no other options for amusement. (Then again, I suspect most of us would get antsy in that situation...) Kiefer's definitely A-list for TV, as is Charlie Sheen; I don't think Eric Dane was ever coming up on A-list--B-list, sure. It sounds as if the show is still running even though the actor has left, so that's another strike against Kiefer, since 24 is off the air, and this person is known for drinking/drugging/other kinds of misbehavior. I have the sneaky feeling we haven't come across the correct answer to this one...

Monica said...

Sorry but getting drunk in front of your kids - unless they are adults themselves - is never ok. And ignoring them is worse, sheesh. "Fussed" makes me think they're under 5. If they were older they would have complained, don't you think?

This "dad" is a fucking jerk.

Moonmaid said...

More kids with future issues. Sad. Why do drunks procreate?

Selock said...

Well, Some of us procreate with drunks unknowingly! :} (but at least a few if us know better than to let them have this kind of free reign over the kids...)

V said...

For whatever reason, I'm thinking Steve Carrell, as much as it pains me to say it.

@Moonmaid, there are a lot of people out there that shouldn't pro-create. Just part of the cycle of life...

E Gee Be said...

Oh V why did you think of him? That makes me sad....

V said...

I know :(

Honestly, I'm more in the Eric Dane train, but I don't think he was ever almost A-list...

Eve said...

What about Jason Bateman?

Gotta HaveIt said...

The clues absolutely fit Steve Carell. He has two children, one 11 and one 8yrs. Made his fame on The Office and now does movies.

ms_jacqui said...

Oh I really hope it's not Steve... Does he have a history of battling his demons? I have never heard of that from him before.

BitterBlondin said...

Poor kids - whoever they are. There was a blind a week ago about a celeb mom who did the same thing and everyone thought it was Brooke Mueller.

hackgnar said...

Who convinced him to leave? His kids or the staff? I read it as the kids being teens or adults and the dad wanting to make it appear the kids still think he's cool somewhat.. basically a functionally drunk dad.

All young kids love to be with their parents no matter where they are..

Jolene Jolene said...

8 and 11 year olds don't fuss. This is so not Steve Carell.

poovey-tunt said...

Hey, I spent more time in bars before I was ten years old than I have in the entire thirty plus years since then. My dad totally would take us (me and my younger sister) to bars when Mom was busy running errands or whatever and he was in charge of us. He'd have a beer or two, we'd have orange pop and mess around with the jukebox or whatever, then head home, usually. It wasn't exactly riotous fun but it wasn't terrible, either. Dad wasn't the type to get fall down drunk ever, though. That would have changed matters. Very functional alcoholic, my dad.

And I rarely touch alcohol personally (avoided it entirely until my early thirties,) have never knocked over any convenience stores, don't kick puppies, kittens, or small children, and even manage to be moderately well-adjusted (if somewhat immature) on most days of the week.

gr8p said...

Mr Sheen for the win.

CK76 said...

Who drinks rum & cokes, that should help narrow down the guesses....

Anna said...

Rum? That would be a pirate. Johnny Depp.
