This B-/B+ list actor is one of those actors who you could name every movie he has ever been in, but would not be able to remember his name. He has been in several huge hits and has done both television and movies, although movies have given him his fame. It was a movie that also gave our married with kid(s) actor an insight into who he really is when he had a torrid affair with a male co-star who is always A list. Our actor told everything to his wife and she has been supportive and understands that they won't be able to get divorced because his family would never understand. She has her own career and the kid(s) and wants our actor to be happy. He has become pretty open in public and at parties and clubs but would never actually come out to the world.

I think it's nice the wife is supportive, but it sucks if she WANTS to be divorced and can't because of his career and family. On the other hand, if she loves him and he's her best friend or whatever and she's okay with how things are, more the power to them.
Sad that people can't just be who they are though.
Tom Hardy isn't married and I doubt after his run as Bane that people have trouble remembering his name.

What about John Cho? He was in Star Trek, Harold & Kumar, the American Pie movies, etc. as well as lots of tv. His wife is an actress and they have a kid.
i would hope if this guy's B list, i'd know his name if i saw it, at least. it might be easier to figure out the A lister and go from there based on casts.

I thought about John C. Reilly or Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the closeted actors.... I don't know if either of them has kids or is married, but that's where my mind went.
Tom Hardy isn't married to that Charlotte chick. And his child is with a different woman I believe. Plus, he kinda outed himself then backtracked. But if it was him I wouldn't want to divorce him either for purely selfish and lustful reasons.

This is my last JCR post - I really think he's a great actor and would not care one iota, but if I remember correctly his family is Roman Catholic.

I'm sticking with John Cho - I think for a lot of people he's "that one Asian guy who is in everything" and he was born in South Korea, which is still behind the US in terms of accepting homosexuality, so it would make sense that it specifically mentions that his family would never understand.
My first thought was John C Reilly too. Which the only reason I know his name now, is because for so long I kept seeing him in movies and thinking he has been in everything and I can't remember his name, lol.
What about Cillian Murphy? He's married with kids and been in many big films but most people probably only know his face, not his name.
I like the John Cho guess. I had no idea what his name was, but @Cathy's description alone brought his image to my mind. I think that's about right.
Yeah I thought Tom Hardy spoke pretty freely about bisexuality some time after Inception, I mean it's not like that was a quiet movie and no one would pay attention to the publicity.

Oh, Topper, I think you're safe. I'm pretty sure The Bacon is a permanent A at this point. He's not just a prolific & huge star, he's also got forever status in popular culture.

If it's true, I think it's Hugo Weaving (Matrix trilogy, LoTR trilogy, Transformers trilogy [as Megatron's voice]) and he probably had an affair with Sir Ian McKellan during the LoTR shootings. I'd think that knighthood confers "always A list."
Whoever it is, I think it's great - he was honest with his wife, she's fine with it because she loves him, and at least as of now has no reason to divorce her best friend.

Badguesser---PSH is A-list at this point. He's really on top right now. He's about to get another Oscar nom, and maybe another win.
That's an interesting guess, Mel. I've didn't see the 2nd two LOTR (*ducks*), an any Matrixes (*ducks*), or any Transformers, but a terrific guess for a gay/bi star who is the definition of A-list.
Any room Ian McKellen walks into just becomes A-list. He's the most interesting GAY man in the world.

I think that Enty often says "married" even if it's a case where they've never actually married to help disguise the blind a bit. And after 28 years together, splitting would be just like a divorce, especially with the kids involved.

Whomever it is though, I am glad the wife is understanding enough when he was honest with her. It's just too bad that in this day it is still almost impossible for some people to be out and proud due to either family disapproval or career concerns. Though if it is John Cho, I could only think that coming out wouldn't affect his career much.

I would kinda love if it were Hugo Weaving. I love him, our snake is even named after him because I couldn't believe my Love (who is a huge fan of the LOTR and Matrix movies, as well as Transformers and V for Vendetta) couldn't place him! I'd especially love if the fling was with the Legend himself, Ian Mackellan.

re Hugo Weaving - he did do at least some TV in Australia many years ago.
My first thought for B-list who's been in a ton of huge movies was Jeff Goldblum - not that I think he's married, has kids, or is gay - but just someone of that caliber in terms of having been in a ton of hugely successful flicks (Jurrasic Park, Independence Day, etc.) and also one TV (L&O: Criminal Intent) - so I'm more inclined to go with John C. reilly or William H. macy than John Cho - I mean, is Cho even B-list?
Another thought - totally top of my head as I'm typing this - no clue if he's married or has kids - but Gary Sinise? He's been in a ton of huge movies, on TV, and is also (IIRC) a Republican/Conservative, which could have something to do with the staying closeted part, too...
