Today's Blind Items - For A Good Time Call

This actress continues to get more strange everyday. She used to be on the cusp of A list then started going all Sean Young on the world. She is still a B lister, but barely. She never works anymore. It all started with one celebrity boyfriend who would make her try a variety of drugs and then confess her sins. Yes, well he also calls himself God. Anyway, she says that when in one of the drug hazes, she saw back in time and saw herself being molested repeatedly by strangers while her parents looked on. Since that time, and the collapse of her hit show, she has gone from relationship to relationship without any permanency. She doesn't trust anyone and thinks everyone is always cheating on her. She finds guys to hook up with because she says she feels wanted and if she only sees them once or twice she doesn't have to worry about trust issues. One of her friends says our actress had 10 different guys over ten different nights who could not believe their luck in picking up and then having sex with her within a few hours. She never sees them again though. She only sees people more than once if she doesn't have sex with them.

Just letting Enty know it's finally happened -- some damn ad or something on this page flat-out will not let you get out and you have to shut down your entire computer. Not. Visiting. Again.

I thought of Marilyn Manson but I don't know who he's dated besides the blonde what's her face n I don't think she's done tv and the other burlesque dancer works. Does he have other exes? Who else calls themselves God? Weirdo.

I only read this site on my smaety pants phone. I've never actually seen it on my computer. No ads. No problems.

Was Bynes ever on the cusp of A list? I'd never heard of her before all of her legal problems.

hello,
i'm a long time lurker and very few times (2) commenter.
marylin manson was with rose mcgowan who was on charmed. but i don't think she was close to a-list.
i like the misha barton guess.

Catherine said...

Mischa Barton!

Cathy said...

I was thinking Mischa too, but she left The OC before it ended.

Lisa said...

Mischa Barton doesn't sound right based on the clue "since the collapse of her hit show." Mischa hasn't really done anything since The OC, and they killed her off of it a year before the show ended.

Pookie said...

those of you complaining about pop up ads--after months and months and months ad nauseum of gracious posters giving you excellent help, suggestions and pointing you to the best free ad blockers for every browsers, et al solutions--need to sh*t or get off the pot. #seriously

oooh...i'll take the mischa guess over amanda.

Karen said...

What hit shows have gone to crap?

Karen said...

@Pookie, I was able to download AdBlock at home, but I can't download programs or add-ins on my work computer. Luckily, I work at a place that has a strong ad-blocker, but not everyone does.

Still, I also get annoyed with all the "I hate the ads and I'm never coming back!!" comments. :)

Basil said...

This one is tough. Amanda B is obvious, but hit show? And no way was she cusp of A. Whomever this is, I feel bad for her.

SusanB said...

For some reason when I saw a celebrity referred to himself as "God" I thought of Gary Busey.

I wonder though if these repressed memories really happened or whether they were "suggested" to her. Either way, the poor girl needs help.

Mischa - with the celebrity boyfriend who calls himself "God" being that extreme douchebag Brandon "Greasy Bear" Davis

I agree with Amy. I used to visit this blog all the time, but recently have cut way back because EVERY SINGLE TIME I do, it either stalls my computer for ten minutes at a time or flat out requires a reboot. At this moment I probably have about 5 minutes to read the first page only (can't go to page 2 without shutting down). Seriously Enty, I like you but WTF!?!?!

Anothergrayhare said...

A little late but thanks to whoever (whomever?) suggested Adblocker for Firefox months ago. I put it on all our computers and it's wonderful! Even my email loads faster because I don't get the stupid ads from Rogers slowing it down.
And no idea on who calls themselves God.

Sugar said...

Do we really have another blind about Amanda Bynes or are we all just too lazy to think of someine else? Is Enty that lazy or unmotivated? Not that I have a good alternative guess, mind you. I bet it is Amanda.

Gypsy said...

Rose McGowen. Marilyn Manson. Her family was in a cult and this blind is partially recycled.

Eeekalicious said...

@B Wheeler Just my opinion, but it sounds as if your computer is at fault, not the website....Ads are part of life these days....

Darkmyst said...

I just don't think Amanda Bynes was ever close to A list

IDoTheRobot said...

Morgan Freeman has been hooking up with his step granddaughter if I recall correctly.

LC said...

I don't think it's Manson. Unless this was happening in the throws of his addiction (2000ish) he is a pretty normal person outside of his "character" he plays. I would be very surprised if he called or thought of himself as God.

crila16 said...

Misha Barton is considered a C list and at Amanda's best, was considered a B+, as I recall from Enty's past BV's. Amanda is NOT a B lister...and neither is Misha.

katsm0711 said...

OT I would rather have a "discussion/cat fight" defending my political views against the most extreme, fanatical opposite than talk about pop up ads which I don't see because I know how to work a computer.

hairydawg said...

Rose McGowan occurred to me immediately. She was very close to A after she broke up with Manson. She said on Howard Stern that she left Manson because of the drugs. The car accident and subsequent surgery hurt her ability to get roles.

Lucas said...

ToI am pretty over blinds like this. Seriously. The sordid tales of sex and drugs and molestation that just don't add up are getting old. I would come to this site without the blinds because I like the other commenters so much and enjoy Enty's disjointed ramblings about regular gossip. But most of the time this kind of blind is a) completely over the top; b) really, really judgemental and c) just wrong.

Okay, off my soap box now.

Silly Girl said...

I was thinking Mischa, too. The 'collapse' of 'her' hit show could be because she left, it ended the next year. Possible....

JSierra said...

@Amy I am so incredibly irritated with the amount of ads on the page! It messes up all the other web pages I have opened, there are video ads that lay annoying music that are impossible to locate and mute, and the page takes so long to load! It totally bungs up my computer and I am really tired of it.
Between the ads and the fact that Enty looks at the DailyMail and makes up his own little controversial stories from the articles there, I am about done with CDAN.
It's easier to just pop by the DM, page loads faster and I don't have to guess at who the blinds are because it is blatantly obvious.

Sorry for the rant. It has been building up for a while.

CraftyGirl said...

Mischa dated the lead singer of the Kooks for quite a while post-OC career...don't think it's her.

MacAttack said...

no idea who this is.

just to let people know, if you're computer needs rebooted because of some ads then you clearly have a virus or your computers fucked. it's not the ads fault, buy a decent anti-virus program and use ad blocker!

parissucksliterally said...

Amanda Bynes

right Pookie, people have been given suggestions time after time about getting rid of the ads.

I have Firefox and never see any ads at all.

Cassiopeia said...

Not Mischa.
How could she be B list or even close?

jane3113 said...

Do not think amanda bynes but she was almost a list. She had multiple films where she is the above the title, first credited star. That had to be a list. Very few actors can claim that.

Turkish Taffy said...

The phrase "going all Sean Young" made me think Rose McGowan immediately.

msgirl said...

I repeat: Ad Blocker! I use it on Safari. And my computer is ooooold.

I was wondering too if these were really repressed or more hallucinatory.

lc said...

Me too. On my phone there are never any ads. Never.

JSierra said...

Well I have never seen a comment about ad blocking software before this, so sorry for the complaining. That adblock+ rocks though, the page loaded so much faster and was so much easier to use.
Thanks everyone!

surfer said...

JSierra - unless you're fairly new here and haven't seen our suggestions, there are many of us who for months have been practically screaming about Firefox and AdBlock. As well, like someone just mentioned, you need to have a good anti-virus program and run weekly scans.

A good, free anti-virus program is AVG.

Alexis Bledel

BubbleKitten said...

Your typo/autocorrect is unintentionally hilarious

crila16 said...

Rose McGowan sounds like a great guess...but I noticed she just finished filming one movie and is currently filming 2 at the same time, with another movie in pre-production.

Alexis Bledel dated that guy from Heroes (same guy that Hayden dated). I heard he was very abusive to Alexis.

Okay for everyone who wants to insult those of us not savvy enough to manage to get Ad Blocker to load on the home computer or have a new enough computer to accept the extra memory needed to download it, please make yourself available to help out those less *intelligent* and less technologically fortunate than yourselves.
I tried like hell to follow the instructions from Ad Blocker as suggested and it would never load, it kept trying to change other things and I wasn't sure I wanted to take a chance on a serious fuck up to an old computer.

Guess we just won't join in on your reindeer games cuz we're not "cool" enough.

There's your fucking cat fight.

couriergrrrrl said...

I like katsm0711's guess of Marilyn Manson, with the actress being Rose McGowan. She was raised in "The Family" so it would make total sense that her parents watched as she was molested by strangers.

Mango said...

FWIW I use Firefox and Adblock so am not bothered by the ads but I recently spent the weekend with a friend and accessed CDaN on his pc and was APPALLED at the ads. It was like a three ring circus.

@ Sherry - Delete any old or unused programs on your PC when you have some time, run scandisk and defrag, update your virus definitions, then download Adblock. Life will be sweet. Or at least sweeter.

WUWT? said...

Sherry, YES. I feel SO OLD when people blithely say, oh, just load this and that and install this, reformat, and it'll be fine. I don't even know where to begin. Google it? Ok, if I downloaded everything I could google, I'd download unsafe stuff. How do I know what I'm getting is legit? I started to once and all the disclaimers made my head swim. Apparently, I am not smart enough/young enough for this. (But in the rest of my life, I'm not dumb. It's just all this "newfangled technology" (haha).

When people had the discussion about how to put "live links" into their comments, I felt like a dog reading quantum physics.

So...Is there anything I can attach to Internet Explorer (or enable/disable from the My Computer page) to help the situation? That's the browser I know how to use.

Sherry said...

WUWT?..I'm with you but seriously this crashed all the open pages on my work computer as well and I have a guru for it too. I just don't have the money right now to deal with the home computer that has oh, so many other issues to begin with. When I can adblock will be the order of the day.

Was McGowan on a hit show? She was in that same cult the Phoenixs were in, right? If so pedophilia w/ parents watching would probably fit.

To all those complaining how difficult it is to download a program, just go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/?from=getfirefox#desktop & click on the green box that says "Firefox Free Download".
When it opens, save it to your desktop. Then click on it & take the Typical Install option.
After it's installed click on "Tools" & then when it drops down, click on "Add-Ons" & search for "Adblock" & download & install Adblock Plus. When that's done, restart Firefox & no more ads!

ForSure said...

For the 47% of you who refuse to take personal responsibility for your computers... (just a joke)

If you are reading this site at work, consider that your employer is tracking your internet usage and the tracking software is slowing down the website. The last two places I worked at would have fired me for wasting work time on stuff like this, how lucky are you?

I digress. For your home computers, you might want to do the following:
1. Run some simple maintenance on your computer - disk clean up and then defragmentation. Both of these are included with Windows, google instructions for how to find and run them.

2. Update your adobe flash, your web browser, and your java if you have it. Google for instructions.

3. Install Google Chrome (free) and then add Adblock (free). Use Chrome just for viewing this website, and other gossip websites. Your computer will thank you.

ForSure said...

Sherry and WUWT, I sympathize with your computer issues, I genuinely do because my husband would be completely lost on this PC without me. I am mostly self taught, through trial and error and lots of googling over the past ten years because we couldn't afford to pay for help whenever we had problems with our computers.

Is there anyone in your life who would/could come over to take a look at your PC, to download and run some of the free programs like CCleaner, MalwareBytes, rKill, and Avira virus scan? Those are some of the safest and most reliable FREE progams and they really help your computer, in addition to the built in programs I mentioned above (disk cleaner and defragmentation). If you've never done maintenance on your computer, it would take a few hours to clean everything up, possibly even two days, but you would definitely notice an improvement.

It sounds like your problems go beyond this website and you could be vulnerable to having your computer hacked and tracked. If someone is tracking your computer, they could have far more info about you than you realize - banking info, passwords, the whole nine yards. I hope you can figure out a friend to come over and help you work on your PC.

surfer said...

For Sherry & WUWT - I'm not that young, and certainly not a techie (I couldn't do the links myself).

I checked AdBlock, and it does NOT work with Explorer, if that's the browser you use.

If you go to http://adblockplus.org/en/, right beneath the box that says Install, there's a link to System Requirements, which lets you know which browsers and which versions this program supports.

No point in getting upset - we're just trying to help.

Meri said...

PLEASE stop posting about ad blockers and ads. I want to read guesses, not spam.

Alexis Bledel is an interesting guess!

Meri - we help each other out. If it bothers you, ignore it, but don't tell us not to talk about it. That's what we do here.

Finlay said...

Dudes, seriously, in this day and age if you don't know about ad blockers you need to learn, fast. And stop using shitty browsers like Internet Explorer. Who still uses that? And it doesn't take a lot of memory to download Firefox or Chrome and an ad blocker and it will speed up your whole Internet experience and get rid of most of the ads and unwanted music etc. and yes, I only see this site a few days a week and even I've seen hundreds of comments and advice from people on how to cut ads to the rest of you. IT'S NOT HARD, PEOPLE. You don't need to be a computer expert.

Um...sorry Meri! :)

Char said...

Get ad block. Not that hard.

portlandjewel said...

I was thinking Rose McGowan too.

Char said...

Ok even my 65 year old parents figured out (on their own) not to use Internet explorer, downloaded Firefox and Chrome, and managed to get an Ad blocker.

If you don't learn how to use your computer properly you will end up with a lot bigger problems than ads on your favourite web pages. Try YouTube how to videos. The Internet is full of places to look to figure out how to do things.

I don't think it's Rose McGowan for two reasons:

1) she dated Manson nearly a decade ago at this point, and has been in a few relationships since then (wasn't she with Robert Rodriguez for almost two years?)

2) "collapse" of hit show implied to me that this was a show that was popular and then had a rather sudden drop in ratings & cancellation, while "Charmed" had a pretty long run and just kind of petered out gradually over time the way most shows naturally do.

The O.C. Fits #2 better, but was Mischa ever really "cusp of A list"? (Plus, as others have pointed out, she left it before it was cancelled).

I use Firefox, but my thing is...why would a site that is active and getting at least mid-range hits per day if not more....why would it act that way in the web browser that is probably still the number one most used...IE? Doesn't IE realize that allowing ads to run amuck and ruin computers isn't doing much to help their cause?

Brenda L said...

Also anyone hesitant to use Firefox because IE is what they know....at least try it. Seriously, it is not that much difference as far as what you get and how to use it. Take a Saturday evening and download Firefox, and then spend time either taking the tutorial or googling how to find what you are looking to do. You can have both browsers on your computer at the same time, so it's not like you have to drop IE completely. I tend to watch videos more often on IE, they run a little slower on Firefox, and I've clicked o CDAN before while in IE and it does screw up.

Icecat said...

katsm0711 said...

@hairy oh no a car accident and surgeries ruined her career? That's so sad. I need to google.

katsm0711 said...

Google chrome tracks your info and I'm pretty sure sells it. Firefox is definitely the least invasive.

The Black Cat said...

I sympathize with the non techie readers, surely you don't want to even know about the data mining that goes on by visiting this site either. That would just blow your minds. Don't even Google it. Ignorance really is bliss.

surfer said...

To katsm0711 & The Black Cat:

I use something called Privacy Suite, which is an add-on with Firefox. Blocks all tracking and cookies. Just choose your preferences. Once you've installed it, a little circle appears in the upper right-hand corner of your page, showing a number. That number represents the sites you have blocked from tracking you. And when you close your browser, it shows you how many cookies and everything it's about to delete.

I love it.

And to BrendaL (if you're still reading) - I honestly don't know of anyone, anymore, who uses IE as their primary browser. I use Firefox, but also occasionally use Opera & Explorer (Explorer offers InPrivate browsing, which is nice).

I never installed ad block because I occasionally click on the ads if something looks interesting, as a way to support the site. But between the auto-play videos and the site constantly setting off warnings from my virus-protection software, I think it's time. Sorry, Enty, but this just isn't workable.

NYCGirl said...

Surprised no one said Lara Flynn Boyle...

I downloaded AdBlock a couple of months ago after seeing multiple mentions of it in the comments, and I was amazed at what a difference it makes in terms of page-loading time.

Shit You Can't Buy said...

Rose McGowan. Bf Marilyn Manson (likes to toy with religion, calls himself the god of fuck), abused in the Children of God Cult (that was her flashback).
Charmed was the cancelled show, her dive down to low-list began when she screwed up her face with plastic surgery.

Shit You Can't Buy said...

Oh and this theory also fits the fact that Rose was outed as the actress who slept with Gerard Butler in the reveal days in July.
Anyone who sleeps with him has issues xD

Zeeky_Boogy_Doog said...

Mooshki - With AdBlock, you can disable it certain pages if you like. While you're on a website where you wanna see ads:

Right-click on the AdBlock icon that's on your browser window, and you get the menu. You can choose for that site, for that one page on the site, or disable AdBlock entirely!

Sherry - AdBlock is tiny. My computer is a Mac from 2003 and it's so old I can't even use Google Chrome! The ads on this website are bigger than AdBlock. Firefox is maybe 25MB, but it's worth it.

I'm not trying to pick on you at all by saying you should get it. A friend of mine got a nasty virus from an ad -- sometimes they sneak past the people who screen for malicious stuff. I don't want anyone to have that happen to them!

pusssykatt said...

Not to be the devil's advocate, but bandwidth and domain has to be paid for. You criticized him for asking for money or donations last year, so I assume he started doing the ads. I think he's overdone it, since the ads go on way before the end of his post. I think he's entitled to the popup that always comes up and I make a point of clicking some of his ads if they are something I'd like, but I stop the page from loading after that and can read the whole page. Ad blockers are find and dandy, but someone has to pay for that webpage you're viewing. Make a point of donating..i.e. I use tinyurl all the time, so I donate to them. I appreciate their service, the same as I appreciate any service, and realize it's not FREE to him. I just wish EL would tone the amount of ads per page.
