This C+/B- list actress should be way more famous than she is. Hit television shows and huge, monster hit movies, but still not really reaching a level of fame you would expect. Most of it is her own doing though. The actress, who is gay, and not really closeted, but not open either, just likes living a very private life. She says that most people know she is gay, but when she got what she considers her big break, the director didn't think she could be sexy heterosexually since she was gay so he told her to prove it to him. They were at lunch, sitting across from each other in a booth. She came over to his side of the table, whispered in his ear, and then proceeded to manually stimulate him until completion while at the same time whispering in his ear. She got the part and has played some very sexy heterosexual women ever since.

I really don't think it matters as much as the actors think it does. I really don't think the audience knows or cares most of the time. Movie buffs and TV lovers just want half-decent shows to watch.

She does a good job of putting her sexuality on the back burner. When I think M-Rod, I don't think Lez, I think Alkie Mess.
Michelle Rodriquez is a hot semi-butch, so I don't see why she had to prove anything to anyone. Methinks the director is a pervy prick. I'm starting to question my heterosexuality because the girl crushes are starting to pile up.
I never bought her as straight and her making out with Vin Diesel is unbearably awkward to watch.

Definitely written to be the fast and the furious director, as the was her big breakout role. She wasn't on Lost until years later.
My son who is mid 20s and has never read a gossip item in his life, called her "that hot gay chick from Lost," after seeing Avatar. I asked him how he knew that, and he said he thought it was obvious. I can't say I thought that when I first saw her. She is a hot mess, tho! Lawdy!

Her first movie, and it was a breakout role for her, was Girlfight, in which she played a high-school boxer who aspired to break out of "women's boxing," and ends up going toe-to-toe, in the ring with her boyfriend. You can often find it for $3.00 in used DVD places, and it's not bad at all.
Girlfight's director, though, is a woman named Karyn Kusama, also known for Aeon Flux and Jennifer's Body, so this story isn't about her casting in that.
I should add that I should remember to challenge her that I don't think she can do het-sexy sometime, because DAYUM!!!

Good for her! Someone needs to break through glass ceilings! I was talking to a write friend the other day about how it's ok for straight actors to play gay but there are very few openly or semi-closeted gay actors to play straight. Esp in movies, so I support this 100% for chutzpah alone!
