Lainey Blind Item
It’s hard to stay up. Every time he’s gone up, he’s always come back down. It was thought that that was only because he was young. And now, with children and a devoted wife, he was supposed to be able to hold it together. So far, sure, but just barely.
There were signs before Christmas but during the holidays, he injured his back on a ski trip. This was not widely disclosed and kept out of the press. Painkillers were prescribed. The big movie was pushed back. Cocktails were consumed in combination at events. No one remembers he actually went to rehab several years ago. Still, so far, he’s functioning. And things are great with his wife. She really tries to take care of him but she’s not always with him. When he’s out on his own, it gets messy. There have been times lately where he’s been so drunk, he’s the dude passed out on the couch when everyone else has gone home. Either that or he’s the dude who’s all over the tall, attractive model type at the Oscar party that his wife decided to skip. Oh yeah, that happened. It keeps happening. They were talking nose to nose. He gave her the full charm. A “later on” was definitely implied, while everyone around him just shrugged. Because it’s not the first time and it’s not the last time and it’s the secret they’re all expected to keep. Not because he doesn’t love the mother of his children, because he does, he really, really does. But between the pills and the alcohol, he’s losing control of that side of himself that’s been held in check for too long.

I don't think it is RDJ only becuase his wife won't let him off his leash far enough to get into trouble again.
Sounds much more like Ben, he went to rehab for booze and gambling. Every time he gets really succesful he tends to blow things up in his personal life.

Ben was NOT at the Oscars or the parties. Jennifer was. So it's not them.

I think this is someone who considers alcoholism a disease, meaning he has no control...RDJ has pissed off some addicts becuase he has stated that drinking & drugs is a choice, I doubtful he would take anything stronger than ecedrin at this point. Bale's wife was at the Oscars, she was sitting next to him. Could see this being Affleck, his ego gets out of control when he gets successful & he thinks he can handle it, meaning just 1 drink, 1 pilll, 1 hand of poker, etc...

You can now safely dismiss the possibility that this refers to Robert Downey, Jr.
Anna it says was not at the after party. As in, wife attended the event but chose to not partake in the afterward parties.
That's why my guess is Bale.

Do you know how many oscar party's there are? He went to the Vanity Fair party with Jen, but when they went to other parties, she probably opted out. He's not going to hit on a girl at such a high profile event as Vanity Fair anyway. He did it once he was wasted at a different party.
Ben may have went to Madge's party after. No cameras allowed at that one. Plus his big fatman* movie got pushed back.

@Lizzie du, possible, but Matthew M was also telling everyone that he and his wife weren't going to party very long at the after parties because he wanted to go home and put another baby in her. Doubt it's him.
Whoever this is, it's very very sad. Hope he gets straightened out for his sake and the sake of his fam.

Matt M's big issue is pot, he likes it alot, he stays up late listening to music smoking it...drink & pills & other stuff was never much of an issue for him...with kids he has cut down on the pot.....doesn't want them around it

I always thought the RDJ guesses were a joke. Someone guesses him for almost every blind, even if it in no way fits.
I always disregard the RDJ guesses along with Betty White & other guesses some people think are so "funny ha-ha cute" for every blind.
Who said anything about pics or cameras being taken during the Vanity Fair party? People have eyes...and people talk. It's high profile and closely watched party.

FYI--- and I acknowledge this may be hard for some of you to understand---but the majority of the world does not spend their spare time on gossip blogs etc. and with Downey being clean for so many years many people are not aware of his past troubles or have completely forgot. I was quite young when he was a mess and I barely remember it. I am aware of it now obviously from being a regular here. No Need to cop an attitude about it.
The cameras at Vanity Fair thing was about Ben and Jen being photographed together at that party. Madge doesn't allow photogs so people were just pointing out that he could have went to that party without her. That's all.

D, Phaedra is on fire this episode and Andy Soze just needs to give Peter a peach to hold in the opening bc he is the shadiest of them all.
I remember RDJs problems - they were EPIC. That is why I have so much respect for the guy turning his life & fortune around. Very intelligent fella.
It's not impossible that he'd slip, but I hope very unlikely & that is how I take it when he is in the guesses over & over. Maybe they think if they repeat it over & over they will get lucky & he'll slip. Sure hope not.

Disagree with Derek, EVERYONE remembers RDJ as a wreck. How could you not, he is the poster bad boy for drugs and alcohol. His career is nothing but dips and comebacks. This is someone who went to rehab on a low profile while RDJ is completely open about his rehab stints and that adds to his charm. This blind is about someone who is not open about their struggle with addiction. Also there is no way RDJ would take painkillers as an addict. Not RDJ.
this one is supposed to be Ben if I remember correctly Lainey said last week she would soon reveal why Ben looked so stoned at Oscar afterparty. Also Ben allegedly broke his ribs during Chirstmas Holiday, postponed the filming of Batman Vs Superman. Plus Lainey had been making up her Ben Affleck/Jennifer Garner saga for years. You'll know if you follow her blog for a while. I don't know if she is just one crazy fan girl who put her fantasy on her gossip blog rather than AO3 or there actually are some people pay her to write. But I don't consider this one a blind riddle. This one is only fan fiction.
Ben Affleck was definitely injured this past December while skiing and B v S was pushed back a month as a result. So CLEARLY this blind is trying to be about Ben Affleck. Whether it's true or not, I'm not sure... He's really been working non-stop, so I have a hard time believing he's slipping back into substance abuse in a major way...
this is someone whose wife does not look like a model, hence the he does for the tall model type. Jen Garner fits the description.
