Lets Count The Drinks
What we have here is Lindsay Lohan drinking. The only question appears to be how much exactly did Lindsay Lohan drink? Here is my thing with Lindsay Lohan. I think she shouldn't be drinking at this time. However, and this is a very big however. Lindsay's problems have always been with drugs, not drinking. At this point in her recovery, I don't think she should be drinking, but I also don't think it is realistic for her to go the next 60 years of her life without drinking.
I have used the Drew Barrymore example before. Drew went to rehab to get herself clean, but she wasn't an alcoholic, or a drug addict, the problem was she was 13 and needed to stop at that time. Drew drinks now and uses some pot, but I don't think anyone considers her to have a substance abuse problem.
Many of us partied our little brain cells away when we were Lindsay's age and if we had access to her money, we might have even used something a little stronger than booze. Were we addicts or were we young?
Lindsay just needs to refrain from drinking right now because I am afraid it will lead her back into drugs, and since she has no money to pay for them, will end up being some dealer's play thing or charging some of these wealthy guys she is sleeping with on the first date.
Anyway, back to the math. Page Six says that Lindsay took a swig from a Grey Goose vodka bottle at the Box Friday night. She was with Samantha Ronson by the way. According to the NY Daily News, Lindsay had at least two vodka cocktails at a different NY club on Friday night. So, if we count the swig as one drink, and then her cocktails as two, lets see. Carry the one. She had three. OK, thanks. Hardly a disaster since they were spread over the course of the night, but not the perception she wants to leave with producers who are looking to cast a new film.
Lindsay. Drink water out and vodka at home.

The point is, if she's trying to get the career back on the road, she needs to appear totally clean. The publicity machine behind the girl has been in overdrive since she left rehab and she's an idiot for going out to a trendy club and basically fucking up everything they've done to convince us she's on "the road to recovery."
It's all about image people. Smoke your crack/pole at home.
As someone who stopped drinking at 21 (Heavy underage drinker), I know how hard it is to not drink when every one around you still does (to excess). However, three stints in rehab make this sort of behavior unacceptable. Addiction is a treatable disease, not a curable one.
What I don't understand is why she continues to put herself in this situation. Is she really that dense?
Some people are young and some are young and addicts. Just because someone is young, rich and beautiful doesn't preclude them from having a serious addiction. I have no idea what her process is, but the last time she drank her publicist (or whomever) referred to it as a relapse. That says to me, that drinking is not something that she should be doing at this time...as it constitutes a relapse. Not to mention that as lovely as alcohol is, it may make it a hell of a lot easier to justify using whatever her drug of choice is when she is already drunk.
You learn in treatment and AA/NA/CA that once you stop your drug of choice, you can't use other drugs either.
Lindsay Lohan has had a couple DUI's, hasn't she? And being arrested for going nuts and chasing someone in your car at 100 mph like a maniac high on cocaine is not typical young and wild partying, either. I haven't had a problem with cocaine (just alcohol), but I bet if I had had enough opportunities I would have. From what I understand, cocaine addiction is really, really hard to control. Unfortunately for Lindsay, because she loves the nightlife and is young, she shouldn't be drinking at all or be around that scene, and I agree with the commenter above, alcohol messes with your reasoning and leads you to be more likely to think you can handle driving or "just one" use of that drug.
You must not be recovering from alcohol or drugs, ent, and that's a good thing (unless you have a problem), but if you were you would never tell Lindsay Lohan to drink vodka secretly at home.
So that means Drew isn't the answer to that blind item from a while ago?

There are always comments how Lindsey has no money. Can someone tell me how she is broke? I am not doubting just confused.
I know she has a mother, father, siblings...but that just seems like a lot of dough to run through - even with a drug problem. So is she broke like I only have 10 million or is she broke like I only have 10 dollars?

BLOHAN IS SLAPPING REAL ADDICTS IN THE FACE WITH HER BEHAVIOR.
ADDICTS HAVE *NO CONTROL* OVER THEIR USE. THEY CANNOT DRINK IN MODERATION (FOR LONG). SHE IS SLIDING DOWN THE SLOPE OR HAS BEEN DOWN THERE THIS WHOLE TIME.
THIS IS WHY ADDICTS HAVE TO REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM THEIR OLD LIVES IF THEY WANT TO HAVE A CHANCE AT STAYING CLEAN - EVEN THEN RECOVERY RATES ARE AROUND 5% AFTER ONE YEAR.
BUT SOMEHOW SHE WANTS US TO THINK SHE'S IMMUNE TO THESE FACTS - JUST LIKE SHE DENIED SHE WAS USING BEFORE HER FIRST, SECOND AND *THIRD* TRIPS TO FAKE-HAB.

Jindi - I agree completely, but my ears hurt!
She's an addict, it's stupid to think she's going to do one thing and not another. The behaviors go hand and hand. Drew was sober for years and years, getting her career back on track before she learned to drink, and not use drugs.
Lindsay has been out of rehab, her 3rd, for less than 2 months. She's killing what's left of her sad little career.

as a 90% reformed party girl who could have given lindsay lohan a run for her money a two years back, i just dont think she gets it yet. i remember almost NOT getting my CPA bc i didnt want to waste a year studying. it just did not click for me, i would have rather sacrificed education, career, and financial security to have another year of uninterrupted partying. luckily, my parents threatened to cut me off and i just sortof grew out of it. hopefully she will get a wakeup call already!
Toni: a clue on her spending habits and sucking all her money away. Her bill at the Chateau Marmont for all the partying she did there was over 1 million alone. And cocaine is very expensive. Not to mention all those 4,000 dollar purses she owns.
No addict is the same as should be the treatment.
Some people are AA some are NA some are both.
Not all addicts need be tarred with the same brush.
I know plenty of peope who had drug problems that drink with no relapse..i also know a few alchoholics who can't touch a drop but smoke the odd joint without issue. Everyone's different.

what about all those stories about her asking the bartender to put her vodka in a water bottle? sneaking the stuff is an alcoholic's behavior. she had problems with a LOT of substances. she may someday be able to drink socially, but now is definitely NOT the time.
as for her being broke, for someone of her ilk, being broke is not exactly the same as for someone like me.
she's got to have resources somewhere, plus residuals. me? i got nuthin.

Lindsay has a clear problem with alcohol. If she didn't, she wouldn't have been busted TWICE in two months alone for DUI. She can't control her drinking and it impairs her judgement to where she goes on 100 mph high speed chases on PCH that could kill herself, or worse some innocent victim. While drunk. And carrying coke.
If she didn't have a booze problem, she wouldn't have been popped driving at nearly twice the legal limit only 11 days out of rehab. She clearly likes to hit the bottle and when she does, it seems to lead to her using other drugs and screwing around with random strangers.
Having "a couple drinks" isn't acceptable if you sat in any AA meeting and said "My name is Lindsay and I'm an alcoholic." She RELAPSED. The definition of alcoholic is not having control to stop using. She admitted in her press release after DUI #2 that she was an alcoholic. Any drink for her would be a relapse.
She knows people are watching her to see if she effs up again. Instead of staying at home and being well behaved and praying for scripts to come in to revive her career, she goes clubbing every night and now she's drinking again. Which means the clock has started ticking for her next meltdown. Her behavior hasn't changed despite THREE rehab trips.
She's an idiot. The only thing I wish at this point is that she ends up violating her probation and actually doing the REAL jail time that she deserved (with 2 DUI's, she should have done much more than 84 minutes in jail). Hard time might make her see the light and really commit to rehabilitation.
