Only $1.5M?

You know something is really messed up in this world when an actual, verified Marilyn Monroe sex tape goes for just $1.5M. To out it into perspective just how messed up it is, Jessica Sierra's sex tape went for a little over $1M. That's right. Someone you could not pick out of a lineup unless she had a sash that said American Idol and had her crack pipe in her hand has a sex tape worth almost as much as one of the most famous stars to walk the earth.

The articles I've seen today profess shock that Marilyn would have made a sex tape. They're kidding right? Even after she made it famous she still was definitely not above doing a little side work if you know what I mean. It seems like once every few months new nude photographs are released of her. I wouldn't be surprised if there are sex tapes of her with the Kennedy's.

According to the NY Post article, J Edgar Hoover (used to be the Director of the FBI) prayed every night to whatever cross dressing God he believed in that the guy getting oral in the Marilyn tape was one of the Kennedy brothers. No such luck. My guess is that it is a mob guy. Considering the source of the tape and the fact he has his face hidden, he is probably a mob guy. I would say some married guy from the burbs, but doubt he could have afforded Marilyn. I mean film had to be extra right?

I know this is probably sacrilege, but don't you get the idea that maybe Marilyn Monroe was someone who only got where she got because she was so willing to do whatever it took on the casting couch. I honestly don't think she is that great of an actress. I just think she was someone every guy wanted to be with, and she took advantage of that fact to get what she wanted. She was willing to trade so to speak.

In my opinion she was only given this near mythological status because of the fact she slept with the Kennedys and died under mysterious circumstances. Put her in today's world. If there were a woman who slept with anyone to get parts; Slept with a sitting President, possibly the Attorney General; Some of the President's friends. Maybe more than one at a time. Slept with guys in the mob and married ballplayers and authors and posed naked for men's magazines as well as made a sex tape, and that is just we easily know, what would you think of her?

Actually, Ent,I think she is the most photgenic woman I've ever seen. She always looked absolutely stunning and glowing in photos. I think she slept around because that's what she thought she had to do. I don't think she was too bright upstairs, and had way too many bad influences around her. If she had the business savvy of, say Madonna, I think she would have been a billionaire.

You know, I think Marilyn actually did have something about her which set her apart from the others. She had some sort of charisma that I don't see in many of today's starlets. No, she wasn't a fabulous actress, but she had a pretty good gift for comedy and definitely commanded the camera's attention. The sex tape thing isn't a surprise, as lots of these women had to resort to these tactics to get places. I'm sure she was willing, but we all know that she had some severe psychological problems stemming from rejection and abandonment at an early age, so I actually feel sorry for her. Hell, even Betty White took nude photos, so it would seem that this was just how things were done back in the day.

Not a good actress, but had a very sexy, vulnerable and sad quality to her that made men want to take care of her. I agree with Cyn, she was very photogenic, too. She was sexy w/o being threatening, so women loved her, too.

I dunno, I agree with EL on this one I think...I've NEVER understood why everyone wanted to be like her: her look is overplayed (thanks to the romanticizing of her image), she was dumb, she wasn't a good actress, etc etc etc. She was simply the Paris Hilton of that day. Its now a cliche to hear "Oh I love Marilyn, this look is inspired by her, I just love her." I've seen nearly every bottle blond on the red carpet try to pull it off, and Christina Aguilera has made herself a long running laughingstock of the red carpet with repeating it ad nauseam for the past several years now. I just don't think she was anything particularly special, but was made out to be because she slept with the right people...(that's just me though. I rarely deify anyone)

Somebody loves her enough to gain possession of this film and keep it from the public, even though it could probably make them a billionaire. Respect.

I don't believe that she was dumb. I really don't think Arthur Miller would have married her if she was. I think she was troubled, and had carefully crafted an image of being the quintessential dumb blonde because that was what sold at the time. I don't really think that Paris Hilton is completely stupid either. People don't get that far by being stupid. We're the dummies for buying into it.

WHY I'D THINK YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT LINDSAY LOHAN - OR HER MOM

I just like that the FBI described it as a "French-type" film.

She was very photogenic, very feminine, and voluptuous, which is sadly, pretty much frowned upon today, despite all the negative comments when someone appears too thin.

And I agree with pretty much everything said in the last paragraph. However I may feel about (her) nude pictures, it's interesting to see that there was no backlash or big deal made of her male counterparts of that era who also posed nude, as witnessed by those appearing in FFF.

pathetic is not the marilyn monroe sex tape situation, the lack of interest, or the "shock" that there was indeed one, but instead it is PATHETIC that "(used to be the Director of the FBI)" needs to be added to your article. If your 12 year olds need this information, than perhaps they should also be brought up to speed with a description for John and Robert Kennedy as well..."used to be president/brother of president and attorney general".

Ugh!

Everytime I watch "Some Like It Hot", I think she really had something special and that's why imitators look so stupid. There was only one Marilyn, just like Elvis. They had that indefinable something special and (forgive me for saying this), fortunately died before the drugs, alcohol, etc., completely ruined whatever talent they had.

Given all the conspiracy crap with the mob, Hoover, government rivals and even friggin' Onassis out to get the Kennedys, I wonder if there really is any film of Marilyn with the boys??

I'm on the fence as to whether she was the user or usee. I've read tons of biographies and many people close to her say she was very shrewd and knew exactly what she was doing.

i've always had a soft spot for Norma Jean...she was a beautiful tragedy.

i posted this the other day..this article is great for a read:

http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/Marilyn+Monroe-14554.html

(it basically is about a new FBI report stating MM was tricked into suicide)
i personally think it was a hit to shush her about RFK and JFK.

LMAO @ Klown - I thought the same thing.

califblondy said...

ITA, Jax. I've always believed she did not commit suicide. The story I've read repeatedly was that when she got the cold shoulder from the bros, she was out for revenge and told the Kennedy boys she's was going to the press with what she knew, unfortunately she didn't live long enough.

Klown, the clarification for Hoover had to be added since there are an overwhelming number of readers from Canada, including probably Entertainment Lawyer himself!

im not american and didnt know about j edgar hoover either, see we learn something new everyday even in the gossip blogs :S

trentb, you're comments are really patronizing. As a well-informed Canadian, I, along with every person that I know, knows who J. Edgar Hoover is.

Did it ever occur to you that Ent might have really young readers who wouldn't have a clue who Hoover was? That was my immediate thought.

Bring back the Ent who's not bitter and joy-killing.

Doesn't he have his own dumbed down blog to be stupid at?

Hello? I am American and I don't know many past Canadian government officials. My intent was not to insult Canadians like they are not intelligent. Klown seemed to think it was weird to clarify, and I said I think it's because so many of his readers are Canadian. The only intentional snark was at the end where I implied Ent is Canadian and not located in LA, because things point that way sometimes.

Jax, I really wish you wouldn't write comments to me when I am not addressing you.

I personally never saw what others claimed was so great about MM. Was she in Baby Doll? If so, she was cute and girly in that movie but I wouldn't want her physique and I don't admire her and have posters and try to dress like her

DiMaggio blamed the Kennedys and Frank Sinatra for Marilyn's suicide.

Back in 1962 women were still considered nothing much more than decorative arm pieces for successful men. (Richard Burton got 10x more money for a role in a movie that starred Elizabeth Taylor who didn't even top a million per) It wasn't uncommon for women in Hollywood to fall victim to the 'casting couch' just to get considered for an audition. Marilyn was no different in that respect, but there really was something captivating about her. Kinda sad that all these years later nothing really has changed in Hollywood.

Is it just me or is anyone else offended by the Paris Hilton comparison?

All that I can think these two would have had in common is fame in a general sense. Now, unfortunately - they both have a known sex tape.

Beyond that, Paris is a crass, disgusting, tacky upstart.

Say what you will about Marilyn but I find her legend to be far from tacky and crass. She represents - essentially - what sexy should still be.

and for the record, I'm shocked that there's a sex tape. Did they even do that back then?

No ma'am, it's not just you. I think Paris is a cartoon character, and one that needs to be forgotten. Marilyn had issues, but she had heart, which is more than we can say about the other.

My boyfriend didn't "get" Marilyn either, until he finally saw her films - he was in awe of how she, in his words, tried to have sex with him through the screen.

She had this charisma on film that I haven't seen anyone else capture; its like she was a bundle of sexual energy, bursting out at the seams.

Was she the most gifted actress? No. But I still enjoyed all of her films and I still found her beautiful.

I don't think she's just a whore who slept her way into films and fame - I think she's more than that. I think her charisma definitely carried her the most - she was captivating and disarmingly charming; the reason so many men fell for her, including presidents, was because of that - not because of what sexual favors she would do for them.

Marilyn certainly isn't the first or last woman to sleep with men in positions of power - I think that if she was just another whore, she wouldn't have turned into the legend she is.

I have been a Marilyn fan for many years and have read most of the books about her and seen most of her films. I find it hard to believe that she made a sex tape, especially after she became famous.

Marilyn was a natural talent; much better before she began taking the Method acting lessons which, in my opinion, took away the all her naturalness.
