Kate Walsh Divorce Isn't Pretty

This is turning out to be one of the meanest nastiest divorces in a very long time. All I can say is I am glad there are no kids involved. The divorce between Kate Walsh and Alex Young has pretty much been nasty from day one and is a wonderful reminder on why love should be a part of any of your marriage plans. As many divorces as I have been through, none were this bitter. Oh sure there was some dishware broken, but since I obtained most of it with a fill up of the gas tank it really wasn't that big of a deal. Apparently though, despite the fact that Mr. Young makes a very good living, he seems to be upset with the information that Kate has shared with him about her finances acquired during the marriage.

He thinks she is hiding a whole bunch of money. Now, they were only married like 14 months and it seems like probably 13 of those were not happy times. I'm guessing Alex learned real quick why couches are called couches and not beds. How much money could she have earned in 14 months? If you are Alex Young, trying to get half of Kate's money for the year is probably better than the Christmas bonus he got, and in this economy you will take what you can get.

Alex has decided that the person who can give him the answer is the President of Disney/ABC Television. Might as well go for the top if you can get it. This seems more for publicity though because I'm guessing some guy in payroll can probably answer the same question. However, the guy in payroll does not get you a spot in TMZ.

I wish this case wasn't focusing so much on the money because there is so much more to discover that goes way beyond money. That is what I want in some court documents.

They were barely married and he has a good job, so for him to be so angry, something pretty big must have happened.

She must have given him a disease or aborted their child against his wishes. Those are the only things I can think of that would make someone hate you that much.

Bob and Carol and Kate and Alex.

(Now there's a reference that tells everyone exactly how old I am.)

Mooshki, that's funny.

David...I'm not looking this up, off the top of my head was it Natalie Wood, Dyan Cannon, Elliott Gould, and Robert ? (the guy from I Spy).

There's my age for ya.

SO IF HE'S GAY AND SHE'S GAY...AND THIS WAS STRICTLY BUSINESS....WHAT NO CONTRACT...EXCUSE ME PRENUP

What astounds me is not the bearding and/or bad behavior but the fact that this guy still is a Murdoch executive. His public handling of his divorce reeks of bad judgment and stupidity... just the kind of guy who casts a super bad light on FOX. (OK, maybe not as bad as the train wreck that was Kara G "singing" backup and trying to compete in a bathing suit competition with the the implant contestant on the AI finale... but almost.)

Califblondy: Robert Wagner. It's so nice to find someone on the internet who's my age! :)

As for the prenup/contract thing--I expect that there was one and I imagine that whatever happened broke the contract. I'm just wondering if Kate is as bitter as Alex.

short marriage, no kids.....that doesn't usually generate this kind of heat. there's a story here, all right. hope we get to hear it.

You are showing your ages! The "Robert" in the movie Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice was Robert Culp. Robert Wagner was Natalie Wood's real life husband (twice).

Can you just imagine working in the payroll department of a big studio and seeing the enormous amounts of money these people make? I wouldn't mind that job for a day. What type of confidentiality agreement do the bookkeepers sign?

When is someone going to subpeona Sara Ramirez?

mooshki said...

Little Miss, I know a number of women who would like to volunteer for that job. ;)

I doubt the "money" is money in the sense of what you and I make (and I'm not referring to the fact that Kate Walsh's weekly paycheck is large). We common folk would tend to think in terms of our weekly paycheck multiplied by the length of the marriage. This information should be readily available (i.e. on her tax return etc.) to her "ex".

If there is a dispute then it is more likely to be her contract for her show Private Practice. If that contract was signed during her marriage then it could be community property. Lets say her contract gives her $1 million a year but she owns 25% of the show. If the show lasts ten years and goes into syndication then that 25% could ultimately be worth tens of millions. All community property! I doubt that they're arguing about the $1 million!

So how many blind items referred to these two?

@tinseltass

Considering the fact that he was producing Wolverine, but Rothman had to step in to get it finished, and was the one at the premiere getting all the attention, and that his last buy was a book written by a 8 year old that is in the realm of rom-com rather than the big budget action flicks he usually worked on, maybe he is not going to embarrass FOX for long.

Add to that, Kate Walsh got an invitation to be at the Idol finale, seated behind Adam's family, and shown dancing and having fun on FOX, no less.

Another funny detail is that he was said to be friends of ABC's president, Steve McPherson, that now is suing him.

Alex Young must have crossed some serious line when a friend sues him, and a sister company gives air time to his ex-wife.

Marry in haste, repent at leisure.

I'm hoping the juicy details come out soon - the guy is already coming off as a tool.

I just assumed it was a 'beard wanting more money' issue, but i don't think that would cause such spite.

LMAO @ Mooshki. Who would play them in the movie?

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors huh?

My marriage was a prime example of short term (3 years) and no kids, and yet my ex was originally going to go after me for like $200/month in alimony! And I filed because he had been verbally and mentally abusing me for like half our marriage among other things that I've alluded to here. I got away with paying him $50/month for a year for the privilege of getting out of my rotten marriage. I'm a programmer and I make okay money but nothing like these people!

I have no idea what's gone on in Kate Walsh's situation, but I just really hate it when someone that is able-bodied and working tries to suck money like blood from the person they're divorcing. It's effing sick IMO. This has obviously hit me too close to home.

What I'm curious about...is Alex Young gay too? This is actually getting interesting. Man to be a fly on the wall.

mooshki said...

Alex Young is gayer than Christmas.

Alex Young is totally gay. When I heard he was with Kate Walsh I couldn't believe it. I had no idea he was closeted. People need to get some therapists and quit hiding.
