going right ot, reporting in some Sandy news. I have a guest arriving anytime from Long Island, she has had no power since Sunday, and they dont expect her to have any for a week or more! No hot food or shower since then Her hubby is NYPD, says city is devasted, and he is not given to overstating things. People in upstate NY lost 4 trees, a shed and no electric anytime soon. I in RI, we really lucked out away from shore, never lost juice. My sis in upstate NJ, no power and prob be at least a week before they get it back. Coast literally redrawn by mother nature. Hope everyone is safe and coping well. Give us somem of your coping skills- games u play, how u boil water for baths- and I will pass them on!

@auntliddy - I would suggest what some people call "French baths" - using water and a washcloth on those more "smelly" areas. If they have a grill, could boil water on that and let it cool for the bath - they're going to have to give up having a proper bath for the time being. Without power, I just read a lot. Yes, the girls do go nuts over this stuff. My 11 year old boy always tells me what the girls are into so he can make it a point to avoid it. His motto is: If the girls like it, it sucks.

auntliddy, glad you are OK. Baby wipes are great for cleaning, & don't forget dry shampoo (the powder stuff) that way if they can't boil water they can still feel clean. Also, if you go to Mountain Designs or other places like that where you buy trekking gear, you can buy microfiber towels, iodine tablets for purifying water & other stuff. Good luck everybody, please keep us informed.

Only the really naive people believe that Rob and Kristin are actually real couple. The wiser person knows that this is all PR-just like the rekindled fauxmance of Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana. Both of these "romances" will end once thier perspective films are released on DVD.
You'll miss "Twilight" soon enough when the Hollywood gossips return to 24/7 coverage of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Bethenny Frankel, the imploding teen moms and the casts of "Real Beyotch Housewives" of wherever. You'll all be begging Ashley Green to go to the Ivy for lunch and shop on Rodeo Drive just to see a photo other than Amanda Byrne's police mugshot.
