Blind Item #2

This B list reality star from a very hit network reality show spent her time at Sundance going from one swag suite to the next picking up as much as she could and is selling it all on ebay. No wonder she was asking for two or three of every item. With as much stuff as she got, she will probably make close to $50K.

Karina Smirnoff "grabbed anything she could get her hands on" - DM

She's B-List?!?! I'd put her at C list reality

Cheryl Burke was there, too.

Karina according to the DMC.

So I should hit the DM first in the morning?

This is Star Jones territory. My word - no shame! I'll go Karina because she's been so desperate for a while now.

Hey, rich people need love and presents too. Maybe the gifters figure that the celebrities are the only ones who will be able to buy a second tube of $150 dollar lipstick and a second box of LV dog-poop bags.

Whoever it is, I hope they're aware that the IRS is keeping track of the swag now.

Exactly, she'll owe tax on the swag and then on any income she makes from the sale of the swag on ebay.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear it's Hilton but sounds like DM indicated it was Karina. Save the $ darling. You may need it .

Punctuation: Did you find anything on eBay?

Hate to break it to you, most celebrities do this at Sundance.

Exactly what I would do.

This reminds me of the Honey Boo Boo Halloween special.

"Did you really come to the same house to get candy 3 times in a row?!"

It can't be Paris, kardashian(s) or any of the Real Housewives because it says "network" these ladies are all on cable. Smirnoff ftw!

Sorry I meant Equation.

Mala Propism said...

Yep. Not only will she owe taxes on it - she'll have to declare it as income!

Whoops! Just saw that you said that right after I replied the same thing Amy :) gmta

Most of the ones who take multiple stuff are at least smart enough to give it away as gifts to their assistants, family, friends, or others to avoid the tax issues. It's like having someone else buy their birthday presents.

LMFAO. I hope she took as much as she can.

How does the IRS keep track of swag?

The tax came about for Gift Bags stars were getting for appearing on shows like the Oscar or Golden Globes, Grammys etc.. so in liu of payment of appearance they got sweet bags of stuff. But the gift bags were in the 30-40 thousand range and that is when the Gov't stepped in. It is for more formal events.

I don't think they can track gifting suites, i'm sure there is some tax loophole it isn't income but promotional BS. The rich do not like to pay taxes I assure you.

Her is an interesting take on gifting suites by a writer that was just horrified by the whole system.
