Blind Items Revealed

August 12, 2009

This foreign born, married B-/C+ movie and television actor just missed out on what would have been his big break. A lead on a great television show that was canceled. He has always been thisclose to moving up a notch on the list. Well, his actress wife is also a B-/C+ but she is on the downswing of her career and older than her husband. Anyway, the husband has got the role of a lifetime he is about to begin shooting and his wife saw a role in the movie as a chance to try and resurrect her once promising career. In public the husband was all for it, but in private he worked behind the scenes to make sure her part went to another actress because he wants the focus to be all about him and not about a husband and wife on the same movie. His wife still doesn't understand how she went from having the part one day to it being offered to another actress the next.

Antonio Banderas/Melanie Griffith

Really sorry to hear that he's such a schmuck

She knows and she doesn't trust him anyway.

Does this make me look fat? I doubt this is about AB nixing an opportunity for MG because he wants to be the center of attention. I suspect that MG was never seriously considered for anything but that AB asked the producers to humor her for the sake of domestic harmony.

I'd hardly say Antonio was "on his way up" in 2009. Nor would whatever show they're referring to be "his big break."

The man was Zorro for God's sake!

Huh? I'm confused (as usual...) I think Antonio's "big break" came years ago when he first burst on the U.S. movie scene w/ Zorro and those movies. He is hardly waiting for a break or to move up the list. Plus...is he TV? Also, he missed out on a big break on a show that got cancelled? OK...but what does that have to do with the husband/wife movie thing? And what "role of a lifetime" was he in in 2009/10? There's nothing of note on IMDB

what great tv show? because i find nothing with Banderas and tv show in 2008 or 2009
and Banderas is became famous with ZORRO in 1995

I think you are all missing the obvious. Melanie wanted to play Mrs Puss in Boots but Donkey hated her voice and Fiona said she was too old. Shrek himself had no opinion because he secretly loves all the puss. This happened on the set of Shrek Forever After (2010). They offered a Saturday morning cartoon show featuring Puss in Boots but Melanie shredded the offer after finding out Selma Hayak would be Mrs Puss, so Antonio never saw it.

Yeah this sounds like a BS blind.

How is he gonna bang production assistants if his wife is on set all the time?

You should never put your acting spouse in this position in the first place. If it is her or his idea fine or the director's idea in the first place assuming the director discussed it with the acting spouse, but you should not be pushing for it and putting them on the spot. Working together most of the time in any business is often bad news unless it is mutually agreed upon and still requires a certain type of relationship or certain type of personalities to do that successfully.

This sounds like BS to me. He had a career long before 2009. Also the blind talks about a lead on a great television show and then refers to a movie. Which is it?

"She is older than her husband" ..by all of 3 years! Pfffffttt. Also Banderas has a Tony award from 2003. Not that stage meams spit in H'wood, but he was hardly a newcomer in 2009.

Banderas had a Tony nomination in 2003 but lost to Harvey Fierstein.

but lost to Harvey Fierstein

This reveal doesn't make sense or even fit.

TalksTooMuch said...

Harvey Fierstein is the only interesting thing about this blind.

This makes no sense. Antonio was neither looking for his big break nor did he get the role of a lifetime in 2009. He'd been around forever at that point, and BOTH of them were are are on the downswing of their careers.

Were AND are, is what I meant to say.

He always seemed like a cunt who is too full of himself and I guess this blind proves it. Not surprised, what a douche.

This might make sense 20 years ago during Mambo Kings, Philadelphia, Interview with the Vampire. Now it's ridiculous.

And television actor? Does Nasonex count?

are we going to get this revealed next week with the actual answer? doesn't fit them at all

This doesn't make sense - for the same reasons everyone stated. Unless it was about another couple and Enty was going to get sued so he threw Ab and MG under the bus.
