Blind Item #10

Studio executives who have seen the draft of the script for this way delayed second installment of a franchise says the way it is written now, it will never get made. Why? The actors won't shoot it that way and it will never even get an R rating. Plus, at its current length, the movie would run about 3 hours.

According to this site the actors don't want to be in it anyway so maybe they will get their wish.

I still can't believe the studio gave the writer such power over the sequel. I don't know what bad crack they were on when they did that.

It has to be FSOG. The sequel was supposed to come out next year, but they didn't even start shooting yet. And everybody knows that EL James wanted something waaay hotter than that. With her husband being the screenwriter, we can imagine how the script looks like. Besides, from what I've heard, the second book is like the "best" one and the sex scenes are more intense. People were expecting FSOG to be something close to a porn movie, but it was so lame. EL James couldn't even give a 10 to the movie. Now she will make sure to make things right.

With the "way delayed" part I was thinking Avatar.

That's what popped into my mind also. 50 Shades most likely deserves all the ridicule it gets but it pulled in a long ton of cash. The sequel will be made come hell or high agua.

People ought to consider making mini-series more often rather than features. Length is not (such) an issue, the relationship(s) development can be much more nuanced and changing and I think it lets to actor get to know their characters a little better.

I think this might be Avatar, too.
