Dr. Burke Is Back- For One Episode

It's hard to believe it has been seven years since Isaiah Washington was fired from Grey's Anatomy. That was an interesting period in the show's history. You had Washington get fired after making homophobic comments about TR Knight which forced TR to come out. Then you had TR and Katherine Heigl both walk away from the show and neither has been the same since. I don't think Katherine and TR speak much either. She was the one who convinced him to go because she didn't want to be the only one. With Sandra Oh leaving at the end of this season Shonda Rhimes decided to bring back her old love interest who left her at the altar for one episode airing in May. It makes sense. One thing I'm wondering though is if this is a one time thing or if Isaiah will get his old job back. The guy has barely worked since being fired and only now landed a gig on the CW in a show called The 100. Shonda giving him this chance is going to open a whole lot of doors that had been closed.

Shonda Rhimes Talks Grey's Anatomy *****SPOILERS****

Did you watch the finale of Grey's Anatomy? Well, if you did you are probably in a little bit of shock and Shonda Rhimes feels your pain and talked about it on her blog.

Okay. Callie said it best tonight: Life changes in an instant. Turns on a dime.

This finale was incredibly hard to write. I did not enjoy it. It made me sick and it made me sad. We end the season not knowing ANYTHING about the future. Except for two things. We know we are definitely saying goodbye to two of my favorite people: Chyler Leigh (Lexie) and Kim Raver (Teddy).

I know this season’s finale had some surprises for viewers and the exit of Kim Raver was one of the big ones. But Kim’s series option was up and she was ready to give Teddy Altman a much-needed vacation. It’s been a pleasure working with someone as talented and funny and kind as Kim; everyone is going to miss her terribly. I like to imagine that Teddy is still out there in the Grey’s Anatomy universe, running Army Medical Command and building a new life.

I love Chyler and I love the character of Lexie Grey. She was an important member of my Grey's family. This was not an easy decision. But it was a decision that Chyler and I came to together. We had a lot of thoughtful discussion about it and ultimately we both decided this was the right time for her character's journey to end. As far as I'm concerned Chyler will always remain a part of the Shondaland family and I can't wait to work with her again in the future.

I'd write more but I'm honestly too sad. I don't like life changing in an instant and turning on a dime.

Thanks for watching Season Eight. We are, as always, grateful that you joined us for the ride.

What Else Could T.R. Knight Say?

"After a five-year break, it feels great to be on stage again." Uh huh. So sayeth the man who fought his way out of a contract paying him almost six figures a week for a three month run doing some play in Los Angeles. What else could the guy say? I am surprised he didn't say that he has some other projects in development, or something that at least pretends there are other things in the works. Of course then all we would have to do is go over to IMDb and see there is nothing on it.

I am also wondering if he is going to start missing that paycheck when the new season rolls around and he sees Katherine Heigl who was going to be his walk out buddy still getting her paycheck and not even coming close to a theatre stage. I really don't understand why people want out of contracts that pay them over a million dollars a year. I just don't get it. My personal philosophy would be to ride the thing out until the damn thing grinds to a halt and keep collecting the paycheck. It is too easy in the acting business to see your career fade away into nothing and just turn up at some ten year reunion show and be forced to sit in the back row because you have been gone so long.

You work and you work and you finally get the break and then you just throw it all away. Why?

Katherine Heigl's Movie Career A Bust - Hello Grey's Anatomy

As you know by now I don't watch Grey's Anatomy. It isn't that I don't like much of the cast, because I do. For some reason I just never started and I hate coming into a show several seasons late. You just never get into that rhythm or fully involve yourself with the characters. Anyway, I don't need to know anything about the show to tell you they are getting screwed over by Katherine Heigl and don't really care.

Katherine Heigl bad mouthed everyone on that show just like she bad mouths everyone with whom she has ever worked. Katherine was ready and did throw Grey's under the bus until she realized that maybe her movie career wasn't going to be as good as she thought. That maybe getting kicked off a movie might be a sign of things to come and no paychecks to bring home.

So, instead of trying to talk her way out of the last year of her contract, now Katherine is all smiles and hugs and how she loves Grey's Anatomy and she never wanted to leave. She was just tired and cranky and hopes everyone will forgive her and please, keep paying her until she can make it big as a movie star and throw you all under the bus again.

I'm wondering also if she told TR Knight she was going to stay on the show. Maybe she thought, "hmmm, he can go and I can stay and be the biggest star on the show." More like the biggest diva, but whatever works. So, I guess she survives her tumor or cancer or whatever for now.

Katherine Heigl Wants An Emmy

Last year if you will recall, Katherine Heigl decided she wasn't going to nominate herself for an Emmy because as she put it, the writers sucked and so she wasn't very proud of anything she had done on the show. OK, so it wasn't those exact words, but it was still something like that. Now that she may have been killed off, and realizes the chances of any future awards in her future are extremely limited, she said, what the hell and nominated herself for an Emmy this year. One can only hope she doesn't make the finals, and therefore give her something to bitch at for the upcoming year. That would be sweet wouldn't it?

Oh, and to improve the odds she will win, she has placed herself in the Best Supporting Actress award instead of lead actress. It is the same category for which she won in 2007, but one could argue she was more of a lead actress and she certainly hasn't supported anyone other than herself.

Grey's Anatomy Kills Off The Entire Cast. Starts Fresh For Next Season **Spoiler**

I didn't watch Grey's Anatomy last night but judging from the number of status updates I saw on Facebook last night, there are a tremendous number of you who live and die with this show. From what I understand, Katherine Heigl flatlined and will only be revived if her next few movies bomb. TR Knight was killed for sure and will only return as a ghost if Katherine Heigl's movie career goes up in flames. It also seems like McDreamy got married. Kind of. Anyway, all of you can have at it and discuss if you would like to.
