Survivor Contestant Who Outed Fellow Contestant Has Been Fired

"Survivor" contestant Jeff Varner who outed fellow competitor Zeke Smith as transgender on Wednesday night's episode of the CBS reality competition has been fired from his real estate job.

The Greensboro News & Record reports Varner was fired on Thursday from Allen Tate Realtors because he was "in the middle of a news story that we don't want anything to do with."

Varner made accusations of "a deception" before revealing that Smith is transgender on the episode. Varner was immediately criticized by other players. He repeatedly apologized, but was voted out of the competition.

Smith explained that he didn't mention that he was transgendered because he didn't want to be known as "the trans 'Survivor' player."

He writes in The Hollywood Reporter that by calling him deceptive, Varner invoked "one of the most odious stereotypes of transgender people."

Survivor's Dan Kay Has Died

Dan Kay, a former contestant on Survivor: Gabon, died unexpectedly on Dec. 31. He was 40. In his early 30's, Kay changed careers. He went from being a lawyer and purchase of investment properties to competing in Survivor.

Kay was 32 when he competed on the show, which aired in the fall of 2008. As he introduced himself to fellow castaways, Kay said, “Hi I’m Dan. I was an attorney for five years and I am currently finding myself.” He lasted 21 days before being voted out after other contestants were concerned that he had a hidden immunity idol.

My buddy, Eliza Orlins, who competed twice on the show, tweeted that she was “devastated” and that the Survivor family “lost a good one.”

Survivor Contestant Caleb Bankston Has Died

Caleb Bankston, who competed on Survivor: Blood vs. Water, died when the train he was on derailed on Tuesday. Bankston worked at the Alabama Warrior Railway in Birmingham. He competed on Survivor: Blood vs. Water in 2013 alongside his fiancé, Colton Cumbie, ending the game in ninth place. He was 26.

Not since Colby gave away Survivor way way back in the day have I seen such an idiotic move by Yung Woo Hwang. The guy had a chance to take Kass McQuillen with him to the finals and Woo would have won for sure. Instead he took Tony Vlachos and that was the end for Woo as Tony became the winner of Survivor Cagayan. I mean this vote wasn't even close. It was 8 to 1. No one was going to vote for Kass. No one. I'm not sure what Woo was thinking. Maybe Tony told him he would split the money with him, but Tony was a master manipulator throughout the entire season and maybe Woo just thought Tony wouldn't be able to beat him. He must have known though right? Crazy.

This is not a relationship I saw ending. After a decade together, cancer survivor and Survivor winner Ethan Zohn and his Survivor winning girlfriend Jenna Morasca have split. With as much as these two have been through and the struggles they faced, I didn't think anything would tear them apart.

Mark Burnett's First Marriage Was A Sham To Get A Green Card

Mark Burnett's second wife Diane Burnett has written a tell all book about the creator of Survivor. She says that Mark used to cheat on his first wife with Diane and that Mark would tell Diane that his marriage was all a fake and that he only married the woman to get a green card. The woman he married to get the green card was also the reason Mark had a job. The first wife's father employed Mark. That is a dangerous move. Cheating on your wife and risking getting fired to have sex with someone else. Mark has denied it all of course. I believe the cheating part. I believe the green card part. He met his third wife because she was his neighbor for years and of course he waited until he was divorced before he acted on any of it. Please.

Zack Morris' Ex Wife Got Married to Jeff Probst

On Monday at a house in Los Angeles, Lisa Ann Russell and Jeff Probst got married. Lisa Ann Russell used to be married to Mark-Paul Gosselaar and have two kids together. Both Lisa and Mark really moved on quickly after their split and I always wondered if maybe a little of this and a little of that was going on while they were still married. Jeff Probst who seems to have quietly dated almost every woman who has introduced themselves to him at a party finally settled down again for the second time too. Maybe he always wanted to marry Kelly Kapowski and this was his way of doing it.

You know, when you appear on a national television show that is pretty popular, people are going to check up on you. Apparently Whitney Duncan has been checked up on and is not actually the single person she has claimed to be. She even won some Bachelorette Of The Year award. She is actually married and has been married for over a year so the fact that she got into a relationship with Keith Tollefson kind of brought some trouble to the marriage. Whitney is married to the lead singer for a band called KingBilly. Well, Whitney left for Survivor back in May and before she came back she called her husband and said she fell for another contestant. She then moved out of his house and has since been hanging out with Tollefson.
