Well turns out that he just couldn't be bothered to leave his hotel room and his meth. Six months ago this actor never did any drugs and now he spends almost every waking moment doing meth.

Cuba and Denzel are both Oscar winners, as are some others (Clint Eastwood?). Most of the others mentioned are already known to use (drugs, drink, etc.). ENT says paid appearance so that sounds like someone more off the radar than anything you've come up with so far. Besides, your answers are always the same for every blind. Think b-list (not oscar winner), had been clean (young) but now hooked (maybe was on the rise but now known to be hooked hence the prepaid? gig). Curious though, what do "film actors" get paid to do at the inauguration? Please don't tell me any of those stars making speeches were paid.

BTW - making meth isn't really hard. Every meth case I get the cops put right in the search warrant the exact method that is used to make meth (usually with anhydrous around here) in their affidavit to establish probable cause.

It's a fallacy that meth users are stick thin. I always thought so, too, until someone in law enforcement set me straight. Basically, he told me that meth users can also put on weight because once they start using, they lose the will to do anything else and sit around like lumps. So, possibly looking at actors who have gained some weight in the past 6 months might lead to the right person.

I'm an avid reader-of Enty's posts AND y'alls ALWAYS entertaining comments-and an infrequent, even a sporatic commenter. Just had to tell everyone that I just adore y'all (Enty included ;)).
I know this has been said MANY times in the past, but when y'all get to guessing these blinds, as vague as some of the clues may be, it's so much fun to see the interaction b/n everyone (even though, as some commenters like to point out, a lot of the same people are thrown out as guesses often-nice to see that that doesn't seem to be happening quite as often....'cept the obligatory Affleck guess, which I love ;)).
I just love that y'all are willing to help each other out, & especially love that most don't just randomly toss out a name, but generally have some explaination as to WHY you believe that person may be the suspect in question. SO much more fun to read than comments on every single other blog w/ blind items (whose comments I quickly scanned ONCE (honestly), saw how the commentors were obviously in junior high, or at least had that mentality &, after you scrolled down past the myriad of "FIRST!!" comments (w/ no guess 'course), they gave absolutely NO basis as to why they are throwing a name out. It was frustrating b/c of how juvenile, immature & just plain mean they are towards each other! When I discovered this board over a year ago, I almost decided to forgo the comments b/c of my past bad experiences, but-thankfully-my curiousity got the best of me. I was pretty much elated to discover the caliber of people that are a part of this little community: y'all are, 1st of all, obviously ADULTS (woo hoo!!), and, 2nd (& even better) are intelligent, kind people who, for the most part, treat each other with respect & courtesy. About six months ago Dark Knight was released. I really think this might be one of the cast from that. It was a huge film and with Heath Ledgers death, well im thinking there was a clue there in them not doing drugs back then.

Ed Norton: I think being able to open a film makes you A list, so don't think it's him. Besides, he's from MD and probably had lots of family to deal with so doubt he'd hole up by himself in hotel doing drugs (altho some families do make you want to do drugs....)
Aaron Eckhart: No way. Just no way. He's giving up smoking cigs, which I'm sure his Mormon mom is grateful for. Don't think he'd want to give her a heart attack by doing drugs. Besides, his career is hot now and I don't think he'd botch that.
Joaquin: I said from the start the film is a spoof. One thing that people forget about Joaquin is that he has one mean sense of humor. If you read comments about him by co-stars it's usually mentions what a goofball he is. But he gets nervous at red-carpet events and doesn't display his "real" self in public much. (I also think the beard and ratty hair are fake. He was seen recently with short hair and clean-shaven!)
Of course, I have NO idea who this person in the BI is, but I'm sooooo curious!!!!

Brendan Frasier, he won a SAG award for Crash, although the Mummy franchise may techically make him A list, its a stretch really since the movies were horrendous. The only tv he's done are guest appearances which I don't think qualifies [even Brad Pitt guest starred on friends and would still be considered exclusivley movies]

I really like the Edward Norton guess. He's been very political (with the Dems) in the past and seems to have totally fallen off the radar recently. Moreover, I no longer think he's A-list. Most of his recent work has been arty or bombed.
Just because his family lives in MD doesn't mean that this is not him. If you were going to sit around going meth, would you do it at your mom's?
Also, the other guesses -- Fraser, Gosling, etc -- have had a bunch of blinds about doing drugs (e.g. Fraser's appearances during the summer and Gosling getting fired from The Lovely Bones). Based on that, it would seem they were busy doing drugs 6 mos ago.
