Blind Items Revealed

February 22, 2014

This A+list celebrity was at lunch yesterday and had a meltdown. It started with her eating her food with her hands and then she started talking to herself and the next thing you know it was the shortest lunch on record and everyone got out of there.

Sad. She used to shine so very bright and seemed to really enjoy performing when she was young.

OG Enty loved him some Brit.

They really need to bring her back to Bayou Country and keep her locked in the basement like Boo Radley.

Jessi said...

This makes me so sad. However, I don't know if I necessarily think her parents are full on evil. Maybe it's because actually Brit loves to perform. It keeps her on a schedule and allows her to continue her passion when in Vegas. I really do think she loves what she does. So I can't fault her parents for wanting to give her that.

Unknown said...

Sometimes I get the feeling someone is trying to convince us Britney is more far gone than she actually is because they have an agenda. Be very easy to plant this kind of stuff. Not like Enty does his due diligence with his rather broad disclaimer.

Kno Won said...

I don't understand why it's OK for her "management" to keep working an obviously ill person. If she had a physical infirmity, people would be up in arms if she was forced to perform. An emotional/mental infirmity? Drug her up and push her on stage!
Absolute bullshit. Everyone's failed her and it's despicable. She needs to be rescued and treated gently until she's feeling capable again.

Kno Won said...

To be clear: I think something criminal is going on.

Next thing will be blind items about balding actors who are having chemo.
The girl isn't well. Erratic and unusual behaviour is a symptom of that. Let's not make fun, eh?

Steampunk Jazz said...

Riven, I never thought you were mocking her.
I think she is doing better but back then, I suspect, the energy of her show changed the absorption rate of her meds. This sounds like they were still trying to get adjusted..
Whether she follows society's definition of sane or not, I hope she's happy.

AJ said...

I used to sit in the audience for the new Mickey Mouse Club when she was on it. She always came across as eager to preform. I think that she wants to preform and despite her family's control, it's a way for her to feel like herself.

Riven said...

@Steamy & @Kristin @Dragon Hands are being consciously coupled!

I couldn't stand her in the "Hit Me Baby" era, well in most of them really. But as soon as her mental health troubles came to I backed off and just want her to be happy. Now I think about that cover and how if started the newest cycle of the pop industrial complex and sexual exploitation of teens and it makes me nauseous.

I feel for her. This was recent too. Sad.

Unknown said...

I agree with what some others have stated, she loves her work and a schedule and something to have to look forward to and a purpose in life is much more beneficial to her than doing nothing. These things happen from time to time when one has psychotic episodes. It's when it goes unchecked for long periods that it becomes dangerous. She's doing very well for what she's dealing with. Her family is doing a great job and has her best interests at heart.

Mental illness hurts. IT HURTS. It hurts so badly. I hope she and I can both find the right treatment.

Let her RETIRE.

Move back to Louisianna. I bet if she bought K-Fed a big house down there his wife would move.

phrancophaux said...

Sending love your way. Mental illness is a real b.

Riven said...

@Tina that was my thinking as well. I think this shit is either saved and being leaked every now and then because there's one of these "blinds" every few months somewhere, or it's total bs that anyone can make up and "leak" because her mental health struggles were so public.

That or what @Steamy mentioned (which is hella smart girl), that the shift in intensity of her daily activities messed up her medication absorption and they had to adjust dosages or scripts.

Damn, I feel sorry for her.

Be well, Brit Brit!! Mental illness is so hard. In a small way, I'm glad it was an "eyewitness" account and not caught on tape (if it's true...) - the media would have a field day and she doesn't deserve that again.

No.... Prayers for Brit. I love that little Cheeto!

RowdyRodimus said...

Give up the charade everyone! Admit it! EVERYONE talks to themselves. It's how we as people work things out about ourselves. Psychologists will have you write a letter to yourself to help work out personal problems, that's just a silent way to talk to yourself.

There is nothing wrong wit talking to yourself. Period. People want to talk shit about people who do knowing full well they do the same thing but feel self conscious doing it in public. It helps them feel better about themselves by feeling they have more self control than the person doing it in public.

Like I said, if you talk to yourself in public, don't worry what people think. We're all screwed up in some way and if working out your problems vocally in public is the worst of them, you're doing pretty good.

AKM said...

@astra - If there are some psychotic features, it could be schizophrenia or possibly schizoaffective disorder (which is schizophrenia mixed with a mood disorder like severe depression or bipolar disorder.) The rumours floating around have said that she's been treated for bipolar disorder, right? So it could be that she's schizoaffective. Severe and untreated bipolar disorder on its own can sometimes manifest into a psychotic break as well, though.

So, now that I've played armchair-psychiatrist, I'd say unmedicated bipolar disorder or schizoaffective. Maybe. Can be difficult to figure out. I doubt she's totally unmedicated, and I hesitate to diagnose anyone who isn't a client in front of me, but...you know.

@rajahcat - I do, too. I always root for her, and her music isn't even my thing. She just seems like good people. I mean, have we ever had a blind here about her being a bitch? I can't recall any. Prayers for Brit.

AKM said...

@Rowdy - Ha! You're absolutely right. (I personally love doing it in my car, but that's just me.)

Upon rereading the blind, eating with one's hands and talking to herself isn't necessarily indicative of a psychotic break. Of course, when it's during a meal with other people, it COULD be troubling.

I don't know. She ain't my client, so I'll just continue to root for her and hope for the best. I like her. She needs to just come to STL and go to a ball game and the City Museum and such with me.

Steampunk Jazz said...

If the meal was spaghetti....troubling.
Seems like the assumption is, it's a sandwich or something...
Her team has probably been with her thru thick and thin, I doubt they would bolt over talking to herself and sammitch mangling.
If this is true, there was more...
Best, girl..Best

@AKM I'll let you know next time I'm in St. Lou to see my beloved Cards (We really need to get an elder reliever to help nurture all those young guns in the pen) which me and my dad do about 1/2 dozen times a year and we all can grab lunch or dinner at Shannon's.

Unknown said...

Sure, there is certain foods we eat with our hands,,,like sandwiches and yes,,sometimes , sure, we all talk to ourselves, I do it,,,eek. However I don't talk to myself whilst at lunch with other people, and have never seen anyone do that, and none of us eat food that's not meant to be eaten with our hands ie the steak, or the pasta, when in public,,,again, I've not been out to lunch with people and seen them do that, not sober anyway, and he basically says it started from there and it was a meltdown and it caused people to leave and the meal to end. So if it's true, she's really not very well. :-((

Actually, people with schizophrenia need a routine and this is all Britney has done her whole life so Vegas sounds like a good compromise. Plus, I agree her father makes alot of money off her now but he never lived off her before and he did get clean and drop everything to get her healthy. He was there 24/7 and I'm sure his salary pales in comparison to what that swindler and all those hangers ons got out of her. In this case only, I prefer her father taking advantage of salary benefits over Britney being drained dry from shady shady human beings.

The Enquirer said...

It's pretty obvious from her post show meet and greets that Britney still isn't well. Have any of you seen either of the two recent documentaries? Foe the record is the older one and they do a good job of showing she's not well without really explaining it. It seems her episodes come and go. Other than performing on stage they keep her out of the public eye - except for the meet and greets. You rarely see her in public anymore, which makes me wonder if she is getting worse. Just yesterday though she did make a rare outing to a private box at the Staples Center.

I think she genuinely loves to dance and the Vegas gig gives her stability and an income that she will need later. I think her parents love her and want the best for her.

She doesn't seem to be able to sing on her albums much anymore though. Britney's most recent album was sung primarily by Maiyah Marie. My guess is that she will retire once her Vegas show ends.

Krissie said...

I really doubt she loves her work. When she performs she looks dead in the eyes, doesn't sing, and barely dances. If she loved her work she'd try a little harder, meds or not. She would at least smile. Not buying it, they're making her work. Greedy family.

Woodsy_gal said...

What?

Woodsy_gal said...

@enquirer Maiyah Marie??

Alita said...

Nobody is standing there with a cattle prod and tv accent chanting 'sing real purdy, Brit, yeehaw! Dance, I said!'

The 'let poor Brit retire quietly to the country, poor dear' thing always makes me flinch. She has given no sign that she wants to stop - she's given clear sound that she wants to continue.

The people saying she should go quietly to the country for her mental illness are, in effect, saying that she is incapable of working because she's mentally ill. You know - go be hidden away discretely dear, now that your facade has slipped. Which I doubt anyone really means here.

Kelly said...

+1 over and over again @Alita! I feel the same way. I hate when people say send her back to LA to retire. She doesn't want that!

The Enquirer said...

@Woodsygal - Yep, Myah Marie. Sorry I spelled it wrong originally.

Myah Marie has been a backup singer for Britney Spears for years. As Britney's mental stability declined, Myah's role on her records increased. Myah sang the bulk of the songs on Britney's latest album, "Britney Jean" and was the sole singer on Britney's latest single "Passenger." It was so unbelievable that Britney could pull off Passenger that her manager said she had taken vocal training for a long time to be up to the task. It was Myah.

At one point Myah's proud Dad foolishly spoke to the press telling them that Myah was the voice behind Britney Spears. Myah denied it and lauded Britney as the true talent.

Britney Jean is the final album of Britney's original contract with Jive (fulfilled through RCA).

I don't think this was posted to make fun of Britney. There were some pictures posted within the last week that were supposed to be Britney performing. One was definitely not Britney. The other I wasn't sure. The pictures were posted side by side which also struck me as odd.

Sometimes there are things that can't be said out right. People are paying their money to see Britney Spears not a look alike. If Britney has relapsed, for whatever reason (meds need to be adjusted, etc.) then who is on stage in Vegas if her show is being staged now.

Mental illness is something that has to be closely monitored. If Britney is "resting" right now then they are looking out for her. Private treatment is expensive and while she is richer than most of us she will need treatment the rest of her life hence the need to make money.

krychek said...

She is set for life many time over. She doesn't need to work anymore. Stop making excuses for her, greedy people, that's all.I'm sure she can be lucid once in a while and stop the madness.

Astra Worthington said...

No Alita, I don't think people are saying that at all. Personally, I see a woman who is living an extremely stressful, high-pressure lifestyle, doing an extremely demanding job. It doesn't appear to be the best environment for someone with a severe mental illness, although I am sure some people could pull it off. In Britney's case, she looks terrified, miserable and/or dead in the eyes all of the time now. She certainly doesn't seem to be enjoying her life and work as it currently stands.

Brit is from a rural area, which is where her extended family lives and she has roots, so it's probably the best possible place for her to live, somewhere with people who know and hopefully care about her and her health. Just because you live in the country doesn't mean you don't matter and she could work with kids or something, which she's always said she would love to do. I also remember her saying that if she could, she'd go live on an island away from everyone (obviously that was in an unguarded moment, you won't hear that kind of talk from her now). So it's not anything like "putting her away to appease the normal people" or whatever, it's out of genuine concern for someone who does not look happy or healthy. Just my opinion though.

@Astra Worthington - You can see the documentaries on YouTube. The older one is called "Britney Spears: For the Record." It was filmed in 2008 in part to promote her new album Circus, and in part to show the world that she was better but it was painfully obvious that she was still not well.

You might want to go to Youtube and search "Britney Spears For the Record Surprise Bonus Scene." It really shows how unwell she was at the time. Her handlers took her out in the middle of nowhere just so she could drive her car. She seemed completely out of it. It was really sad.

The second documentary was filmed last year to promote her Las Vegas Show 'Piece of Me.' The documentary is called "I Am Britney Jean." It's essentially a behind the scenes making of the show, but it gives you a good idea of how she is today.

For the most part she's lost her confidence and fire but she's still a good dancer. I feel really bad that she has to have so many people around her at all times but still seems incredibly isolated. For the most part she also seems really lost.
