It was indeed a different mobile site loaded with ads. It had a similar format like DListed where it said "continue reading". Adblock wouldn't have stopped the ads placed between the posts.
I have the old site here in my kindle fire and some piece of shit word press site that isn't operating on my lexus7. It looks terrible. I will try and do something to see if its makware causing that but nothing new is up on THAT site today but it really is crap!
So I run a virus scan on the lexus7 it finds a few problems and takes care of then. Try to go to CDaN and its the same POS site that popped up before. So that advice on the fb page is b.s.

Its still the new site on my lexus7 but absolutely nothing is there :( you have to click for everything and the links dont exist. And none of us have word press ids either I'm pretty sure so all our blogger info stays with blogger and we have to re register.

I briefly had the new site. I hope that thing is not for real. Sorry, Enty, but it's pretty awful. I have the old one back but I suspect the new one will be back and soon as the kinks are ironed out (some links were not working).

Gina the old site is mostly black and has no links to anything except comments and old posts. It has shitloads of ads and a video that runs automatically. The mobile site is mostly white and has the comments directly under the item. No ds or video. The new site is complete crap on a different host - wordpress.
Now Im on a PC and the old site is here but still the new site is up and not running in my house right now.
Is it not customary to forewarn your peeps that you are making a change to the site, that is what most sites do so you don't think you are going crazy and take down the site completely offline whilst you are updating and just have the web address lead to a message saying we are offline due to updates or whatever.

I'm on my iPod touch and the old mobile site is finally loading. Earlier this AM I kept getting error message "safari could not load page due to too many redirects." I never saw an updated design. And the message from cdan's FB page is complete bullshit. Do they honestly think we'd believe that suddenly all CDaN readers got the same malware on their devices and are only having problems with one specific website?! Lol
Too sad. I've been here forever. If Enty is using Disqus like DListed I'm gone. It doesn't work with Safari. Maybe it was time for a change anyways.

You can get the new site on IE but only get error messages when you click on links [sent email to webmaster] and you get the old site on Firefox but no new links.

I only read the site from my phone and I was accessing the updated side yesterday and just now I refreshed and it came back to the normal site. I couldn't comment in the new format (which is awful) and there still are no new posts...
All I got using IE was a pop up ad that said "click to win free iphone." Firefox shows the old site, but with a 50 year old Ducky Dale and Ashton Assface as the first post.

Yeah if it goes to Disqus I'll probably quit too. The new site I saw was geared towards making you scroll past ads. And remember that different mobile devices need a different way to display much like different browsers. You have to be configured for all of them hence each of us seeing something different.
I was given a redirect that wouldn't redirect and requested me to re-register.

@Rose Lizenberg it sure doesnt work well on iPad. It allows replies to each and every post too so you get in scrolling back and forth hell. Unless you have unlimited free time to web surf it is truly annoying.
I have noticed that each site that uses it configures it differently too. Some seem to work better than others.
Finally after all day everything is back to normal on all my different outlets. Maybe tomorrow we will get posts and don't forget to fall back on your clocks tonight North America. Extra time to have fun!!.

I got that new site a couple of weeks ago. I had to go in and clear my browsing history to get the old site back.
the real enty has been gone for a long long time. his writing was completely different. it had full sentences that had proper syntax & grammar. they were COMPLETE sentences.
he also had a completely different attitude toward the people he wrote about.
personally I think Jax a long time CDAN poster has taken over the site.
but thats just me. I think this was a barfed up attempt at updating the site.

On the 404 error pages it had a link to report it to the webmaster and I did a few times. It brought up a report on my email to send in that was addressed to enty. I am east coast so this was pretty early today.

I just refreshed this page and it brought me to a an "updated" CDaN version that has a huge orange disclaimer at the bottom of the page that said something like the reveals may be inaccurate and fictitious or something along those lines. Then when I tried to click on comments, there weren't any (I clicked on this post which clearly has comments) and there was no option to post a comment
