Hootie and the blowfish
Omg Darius Rucker! Great guess...never thought he was straight.
Nashville the adopted town
If this is Darius Rucker of Hootie: At the height of their popularity during that first album, a friend of mine's brother got invited on their tour bus with a bunch of their friends and had a great time partying and joking and singing and nothing nasty happened and my friend's brother said they were all a great bunch of down-to-earth guys.
Darius Rucker?
Wow great one Mhb! Black and gay in country music, still a decent sized star though and more respected there than rock and pop fans gave to Hootie and the Blowfish
I loved Cracked Rear View!! Didn’t see that one!
Wow good guess!
I had heard rumors about DR a long time ago. Had completely forgotten about it!
Nashville rivals Hollywood for the closeted gay population.Which is completely understandable imo. A lot of their fan base is not very broad minded in that respect.
I went to college with these guys. They played our local bars for years before they went on Letterman and became the sort of BonJovi hometown heroes of sleepy southern college towns, with R.E.M. being perhaps the first for the SEC but they were much more edgy. Darius could pull any girl from our all-night bars, and did. But none of the relationships lasted very long. They do a lot of charity, and no one around here would give a rip. Nashville and his newfound audience, well, I can't speak for that.
"I'm tangled up and blue
I only wanna be with you..."
I never, EVER, would have came up with Darius Rucker on my own.
But yes. He'll always be "Hootie" to me. Well done, MHB.
All he's doing is loving them the best that he can.
Thought this was Mark McGrath
Unknown agreed. I would have probably liked it if it wasn't so over exposed.
I wouldn't have guessed Hootie. my first thought was "the calling" and Alex Band. But the "another name" clue didn't really fit.
Awww...Hootie....You coulda fooled me! Now Mark McGrath I could see but the clues don't fit.
His Darius please live the real you.... if people embraced HATBF they sure as hell should you
God that album made me wanna put hot pokers in my ears....
Gotta be Hootie!
DDonna Tarttty I know someone who had the very same experience with them. While some wanted nothing but illegalities, Hootie and Friends were a cool hang.
Hootie like the peen? That's hot.
+1 Unknown, I hated Cracked Rear View from day one. I especially loath Darius Rucker’s monotone style of singing.
So this is what Hootie was blowing
Darius can sing. Beautiful voice.
Darius is married and has three kids.
Right @BMW. And to a white woman. I've seen their pictures in kneepads back in the day.Thought he was a clean cut guy so according to your typical MTO reader, he is gay.
I remember an interview where Darius said that there is no Hootie and that's not his name. XD
Harry Wayne Casey of KC and The Sunshine Band. Played the Republican National Convention Gala.
C'mon, how many dozens of closeted stars still work successfully in Nashville? That town protects their own.
Harry Styles! Lol
@bmw, well Bradley Cooper is married with a kid too. That doesn't mean anything.
Who has Bradley Cooper married? Did he dump the yachting beard?
