CDANCON Thanks

I would like to take a second here to thank everyone who participated in the CDANCON event. From the very beginning it was Hez' brainchild and she saw it through to the end. None of it would have happened without her efforts and so any credit should go to her.

I'm sure she is already planning to make next year's event bigger and better and with an entire year to plan, it will be incredible.

Thanks to all the people who came to the events whether it was from LA, or other spots around the globe.

Thanks to all the people and companies who contributed prizes for you the readers so you could feel involved even if you couldn't attend.

I also wanted to give a special shout out to Anna Kosturova. Many of you may know her from her incredible swimsuit collections and other great sportswear fashions. Anna was here recently for Fashion Week and she opened her gifting suite to many of the people that make this blog possible. She took care of my spies as well as other celebrities who serve up much of what you read in the blind items. I can't begin to thank her enough, and thanks to Hez again for introducing me to Anna. I encourage all of you to check out her site which is linked above.

Deadline For Entries Fast Approaching

If you have entered for one item, you have been entered for them all. No need to send separate entries for each giveaway. Just thought I would tell you. The next thing up for grabs comes from someone who just succeeds at everything she does. She is an incredible person, poet and actress. As you can tell from the picture above, it is Amber Tamblyn. From Joan of Arcadia to The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and Stephanie Daley, Amber can do it all as an actress, but honestly, she may even be a better poet than actress. If you have not checked out her book Free Stallion, you need to do so, and soon.

CDANCON--More Stuff

When the people over at Full Bloom Tea heard about the convention and luncheon this weekend, they wanted to be a part of it. I thought maybe they just wanted to give away some of their teas, but nope, they are going to contribute so much more.

CDANCON Lunch--Finally

The CDANCON lunch with Dominique Swain will be held on October 27 at noon. The location will be the Pig 'n Whistle at 6714 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028.

If you are planning on attending and haven't let me or Hez know, then please do so as soon as possible.

I know that many of you expressed an interest in having a gathering of CDAN readers in New York, Vancouver and in Australia. I can't promise DS at any of those places, but if you get something organized that has at least 20 or so people attending, I will get someone fun and at least somewhat recognizable to have lunch with you.

I would love for every reader to make it to the lunch. I know however that many of you don't want to drive across town, or fly across the country or around the world just to have lunch. Perhaps you may be more interested in carving another pumpkin, mowing the lawn, or are just a shut in. If for any reason you can't make the festivities, don't worry. The lunch will be filmed so everyone can feel like they were there. If anyone has any questions they want to ask DS about her work or her blogging or really just about anything, send them to me or to Hez and I will make sure she answers them on the tape.

The lunch should be fun and I'm working on some other guests and surprises. Also, don't forget to register for your chance to win a bottle of M from Mariah. DS will be handing out two bottles. One to a guest who is there in person, and another to a lucky reader. If you haven't entered yet, then you may do so by sending an e-mail to ent.lawyer@yahoo.com and put something in the subject line that says it is for this contest. CDANCON-A Gossip Lovers Convention

CDANCON is just an event designed to bring together people who love gossip. Although it is called CDANCON, liking this blog is not necessary or required. This blog just brought together a group of people from all over the world. At some point during all the commenting and guessing, real friendships were made between the people who read and enjoy this site. They decided to get together, and what better place than Los Angeles.

I want to make it very clear that everyone is welcome at CDANCON. It is not a clique thing and it is very inclusive. You can come for all, part, none, whatever, and as I said, you are welcome to come even if you hate me or the blog. The only real requirement is a love of gossip and wanting to meet new people.

I think the idea of this first one is to see if (a) people actually show up or if DS will be eating by herself, and (b) making it a foundation for something larger in the future and perhaps combining readers of many different gossip blogs.

I understand that much of this is kind of short notice, but if some people actually do come, then the next time we do this there will be a much bigger production with much more notice and see if we can't get the whole world to come and celebrate the world of gossip.
