Liza Minnelli On Celebrity Rehab?
So much for no star power. According to TMZ, producers of Celebrity Rehab are in negotiations with Lisa Minnelli for her to start on the new season of the show. It had previously been announced that the show was either not going to happen or be delayed because no celebrities have any need for rehab. After producers started raising the fees, suddenly Tila Tequila and Jason Wahler signed up, but that wasn't enough.
Liza is saying she is not interested in doing the show, but TMZ insists otherwise. She would be paid about $500K to appear. I didn't even know she needed to go back to rehab. Isn't she sober? I really don't see how this helps her career and she can make more money than that playing shows rather than embarrassing herself on television each week. Maybe she would change her mind if she knew everyone would be getting a complimentary wisdom tooth removal.
Of course there is the possibility that Buster will show up and help her escape.

I think this would sully her legendary status. We know she's an addict but we don't need to see her madness up close and personal in a reality tv setting, this is definitely not a good look for Liza.

Maybe the hook is that she is a 'recovered addict' character on the show. Of course we wouldn't learn about her anticlimatic non-train wreck 'till the 10th episode.
oh sweet Jesus. It's shocking, but I must guiltily admit that I would watch this... Just to have her on there would be enough.
yeah, it would do for her what that crazy reality show did for Whitney.
She strikes me as someone who likes all eyes on her and she doesn't really care why they're looking. Any attention is good attention for some people.

Oh Gawd I can see it now, Liza looking into the camera and saying "MAMA, MAMA, ARE YOU OVER THE RAINBOW NOW, MAMA?" It pains me to think about it!

She looked fucked up in SATC2...if she really is addicted to something I hope she gets clean off camera. That show is so exploitative.

Call me cruel, but I would rather watch a "bachelorette" show where Minelli lives in a house with eleven gay guys and one potentially bisexual guy. She would have to try to figure out which one was potentially bisexual, at least bisexual enough to pretend to want to have sex with her a few times, just enough to justify marriage! And then they would marry! And then they would spectacularly divorce, with recriminations and accusations of betrayal and falsehood. I'd watch that.
