Martina Navratilova Eliminated From Dancing With The Stars
Well, I predicted the first week's casualty correct, but I am really sad to see Martina Navratilova leave Dancing With The Stars. She seems to have really loved being on the show and she certainly practiced enough, but for some reason she just could not pull it off as well as I thought she would. I honestly thought with all the footwork you need to have in tennis that she would be much better at dancing than was actually the case. That big sigh of relief you heard was from Melissa Gilbert who is banking on staying on the show each week to try and resurrect her career. The groan you heard is from Maksim who is ready to be voted off so he does not have to deal with Melissa anymore.

Melissa Gilbert is starting to look like Melissa Rivers sister with all the plastic surgery, IMO......she makes the bitcheist faces...

I blame the bra. Makes her look really saggy.

The DWTS costumer should be shot for that... and that's saying a lot given those costumes!
The two tennis players that have been on the show, Martina and Monica Seles, haven't been able to translate their footwork over to the dance floor. It's too bad, because both seemed to enjoyed being on the show.
Maks should just hold tight. Competition is tough this year and Melissa is one of the worst dancers. She'll be gone soon, I imagine.
I've played competitive tennis and have been in a traveling dance group. It's a totally different type of footwork. With tennis, you learn the right footwork and let it naturally do it's work on the court. But it takes YEARS to feel that comfortable. Unfortunately, Martina didn't have years to get used to dancing footwork to the point where it comes naturally.
I don't watch the show, but too bad she didn't get past this week. She is one of my idols. She changed women's tennis with her awesome strength.

I felt sad that she was voted off. And, I'll say it..."I blame the fish net" Oh my, that outfit...why? She seems like a sweet lady.
Melissa, could pass for Melissa Rivers. What is she doing? When will these stars learn, aging isn't a bad thing...in comparison. :-(
Wow, that outfit is not flattering, and that's a shame, because it's obvious Martina has made an effort to stay in good shape. Why not show it off properly?

I felt bad for her too. She seems genuinely sweet, she just got stage fright or something. Also, I think the best part of that show is the beautiful costumes, I'd be ticked if I was only on the show a couple weeks and had to wear that hideous thing.
I'm sorry to see Martina go too. But yeah, that outfit is fugly.
no one likes the pants? i love the pants! i bet they look really cool when there is shimmying going on. when my oldest was preschool age, she had some short pants like that and they. were. awesome.
I like the pants. Chelsea Kane wore them two seasons ago.
The stars have say in their costuming, so if she wasn't comfortable with it she could say so. It's still a terrible look though.
The pants are fine. It's the "Little Mermaid caught in a fish net" top that's killing me.
I would rather have Maria Menuonos go home. She's so annoying I cannot stand her.
I dont watch Dancing with the D-List, so this is the first time this "fantastic" outfit is hitting my eyes.
WHAT the HELL is her old old ass doing in a fishnet shirt and red bra that a Dennys day shift hooker wouldnt wear?
Her Hilary Clinton-esque face/hair DOES NOT vibe with that outfit- it's actually quite disconcerting.
Oh and Justin Beiber called- he wants his gay face and pose back from that dude behind her~

Her stomach looked very flabby in that top. I have quite a few friends that do tennis and Zumba - which is basically Latin dancing, and they are great! At the same time, they are not professional tennis players, and the feet work is probably opposite of what they were trained to do for years - the graceful days of tennis left us in the 70's...I bet Chris Evert might do a good job though, she still had a little bit of prissy in her tennis...
I'm not watching this season, but came to say that I'm sure Michael K had to have had this picture in his "What the Hell Kind of GD Outfit Is This?" posts.
