Blind Items Revealed

January 25, 2007

This A-list actor is fairly recently married and even has a child. Although he has had a serious drug problem in the past, most people thought it was just that, in the past. His previous drug use had caused him to be turned down for several roles which could have made him an even larger star. Because of the drugs, he was forced to take some roles that most actors in his position would turn down without a thought. Until his current marriage, his relationships were always on and off, depending on his drug use. Once everyone thought he was clean, they began hiring him again and again. Now however, back-to-back-to-back-to-back films without a break and a long absence from his wife allowed him to resume his old ways and habits. He still has a few films in the pipeline, but their dates keep getting pushed back to see whether or not he can kick his habit or whether he will be back to his old ways.

Heath Ledger

**Note**At the time this was written way back in 2007, there were those who thought Heath & Michelle Williams got married at Christmas 2006

Still sad.

Has everyone seen "Candy"? He played a junkie so well that I knew he must have had experience.

What a waste of talent. Very sad.

Everytime I read these I THANK GOD I don't have a drug problem. I fooled around with quite a bit of coke for awhile and miraculously did not end up hooked, still not sure why not.

I do have a bit of a drinking problem but nothing like Christina's so I guess all things considered I'm lucky as hell. The Mac Culkin thing is a real crapper too. Scary shit.

Matilda looks exactly like him...I'm so sorry that hes not here to see her, and she doesn't get to enjoy time with him (sober of course).

Kids, drugs are bad.......mmmmkay?

Again, another talented person who wastes it. There must be a connection because it seems to happen a lot.

That is just sad. Say no to drugs people.

I was just gonna say despite The Widow Ledger act, they weren't actually married.

Linnea said...

His death really upset me, I don't know why. So sad.

cheesegrater15 said...

Because he was young, insanely talented, and it was completely unexpected.

I still think Mary fucking Kate Trollsen knew more than she claimed.

Linnea said...

I completely agree! I wish the truth would come out about their connection

My favorite Heath performance: the Brothers Grimm where he plays a bookish type, he is so wonderful and unexpected in that movie. Go see it, its always on cable.
10 things I hate about you and obviously The Dark Knight are up there too.

hunter said...

As much as I love you Vicki, Mary-Kate & Heath were drug buddies - what more could she possibly have known? It was an overdose and it was a mistake.

Well, that's what I got anyway. She definitely didn't KILL him!! She probably knows his dealer but that person didn't kill him either. :(

hunter said...

Actually she might have been his dealer, but still...

mmshukla008 said...

He had soooo much potential...! imo, liam and chris only get movie roles mainly due to heath's absence. he really could have dominated the industry. but like so many others, gone too soon...

RenoBlondee said...

I fell in love with him when I saw 10 Things I Hate About You.
He was my favorite actor.
What's weird is I never pull out my DVD's to watch anymore. I haven't for years. The night before he died I pulled out A Knight's Tale and watched it.
I still miss him.

so his death wasn't unexpected. lots of people knew he had a serious issue. but no one would go on record because it wasn't PC and it might cost them money.

hollywood is such a nice place, isn't it?

My favorite Heath films were 10 Things and A Knight's Tale. He was so talented!

Can you imagine the films that he and River could have made? What a huge waste. But I will remember them through their films and honor them that way.

I hope little Mac and Christina and all the rest can figure it out before they end up in the "What a waste" category.

When famous people die from overdose, it seems like their drug use is whitewashed and excuses are made for them. I know one shouldnt speak ill of the dead, but i think when a famous person dies from an OD, should be a time for the media to bang on about the fact that drugs do kill.

Unknown said...

oh she so did! and i blame that masseuse for not calling 911 right away and instead calling mary-kate like 3 times before calling 911!!!

audrey said...

I feel that drug overdoses are whitewashed so the masses think of the person as a tragic hero to be honored rather than a down and out junkie who can no longer work due to their addictions. There is nothing glamorous about drug addiction be it illegal or prescription.

when dark knight rises came out i was explaining to my mom how he played the joker in the dark knight and how joseph gordon-levitt is in TDKR and how they were both in 10 things i hate about you...i was like mother this is very bittersweet for me. i have all his movies stored together, very hard for me to watch them, he was my favorite actor and i miss him so much

Heath we hardly knew ya :( The Patriot man. The Patriot was it for me. I was like Whoa who is that!?

Hunter how are ya? Haven't seen many of your posts lately.

With these two blinds I find Hollywood and its inhabitants even more abysmal than usual. Every time i read these I can't believe how many people make turning a blind eye a Daily practice. As humans, these handlers, friends or entourage participants suck ass. Not that the actual person isn't totally responsible for their actions, but for god's sake, help your fellow fucking man.

Olive said...

Yes, still upsetting.
I remember thinking how awful he looked in that set pic from The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Never in a million years would I have guessed what would happen next.

I was thinking either Bfleck or Heath for #1. The other two I have to let rattle around in my head for a while longer.

@NapAssasin - ITA. Everyone needs to be told no from time to time. Boundaries are a good thing.

@Sasha - also agree. That's why I love RDJ so much. He openly talks about what he went through and helps support other young actors. Wish more people in the biz would take a stance instead of being lazy cashing checks.

Brenda L said...

@dia papaya - and (apparently) RDJ is unafraid to blow the lid off of Hollywood wrong-doings. It's a testament to his character that he WILL do it and a testament to his star-power that he CAN do it.

Anyone remember "Roar", the TV show on FOX? Now I wonder if it was canceled due to his drug use and not just low ratings.

Ledger never was married with Michelle Williams ,he had drug trouble like his best friend Wes Bentley and his death was unexpected because he was under meds since his beak-up with Williams

I LOVE the patriot, but its so hard to watch now. Not even because of Mel. Heaths death scene in that movie..I don't deal well when I see it. That movie makes me cry a lot.

I know right!?

Carebear, hello! I hope your saturday is going sweetly. I know-it was on tv a few months ago and I got a case of the sads just seeing him all young, healthy and beautiful. What a shame.

@Aunt Jess and rejectedcarebear , And to think I defended Betteroffsingle about a week ago. He is either trolling or needs a sensitivity chip upgrade.

Michelle shoutout to Bradley P on that sensitivity chip!

Kelly Simmons said...

I think Mary Kate called her security guard before the ambulance. That was the problem-o.

iheartjacksparrow said...

@Olive - I assume you've seen Parnassus. He looks so awful in the movie, like all the energy has been drained out of him and he's aged about ten years. After TDK he should have taken some time off to just rest and recover from such a demanding role, not jump back into another role.

Comma Chaser said...

Another movie to add to the list is Lords of Dogtown, based on the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys. The movie is okay/not great, but Heath Ledger has a bit part in that movie, but he's good in that one as well. I didn't even recognize him for the first five minutes.

Sadie said...

@betteroffsingle

My best guess is that you either need to use an ad blocker or do some major cleaning of your pc because there isn't a thing wrong with this site. It loads instantly for me and most others!

O'Really said...

It breaks my heart to see his old movies...he was so handsome and talented. I think Joseph Gordon Levitt favors him and could play him in a biopic.

katsm0711 said...

Isn't it nice that (which mag is it?) is talking about Macauley's drug problem. Maybe it will be a new trend to call out these troubled blind subjects. Drug users don't use alone, they get it from someone and usually do them together so it's rarely a secret. People need to start talking and saving their friends!

kerri said...

For those of you who haven't yet seen 'Candy', please do, he was fucking brilliant in it.

AKM said...

"I LOVE the patriot, but its so hard to watch now. Not even because of Mel. Heaths death scene in that movie."

Bah! I never saw THE PATRIOT! Oh well, I suppose the statute of limitations on movie spoilers might be up for that one by now. :-P

a non a miss said...

I think if the movies been out for over a decade, you can't be too mad :)
You should still see it, it may not be historically accurate, but Heath was very good. There's an odd sub-plot where Mel gets the hots for his sister in law. I've seen it way too much. Its always on during the summer!

hunter wrote: I do have a bit of a drinking problem but nothing like Christina's so I guess all things considered I'm lucky...

I know I do not know you or your circumstances, but as some people mentioned above, sometimes someone needs to say the difficult thing, out of concern. So here goes: hunter, please consider that usually the person who drinks or uses thinks it's maybe a "bit of a problem" but that they "have it under control." Sometimes the people around them see a different, more accurate picture. Are you sure you are ok? If you need it/want it, there is help available. Take care of yourself.

That goes for anyone else struggling to stay afloat and thinking at least they aren't underwater yet. Don't wait until it's too late.

Ok, bye.

dia papaya said...

@carebear - The Patriot was just on and I couldn't bring myself to watch bc of Heath. He was so vibrant. I got the sads and couldn't do it. I feel your pain!

@WUWT - nicely put!

Actually, the masseuse, who found Ledger, called Mary-Kate before calling 911.

Here is some info:http://www.accesshollywood.com/mary-kate-olsens-connection-to-heath-ledger-death-revealed_article_8139

I think the Trollsons are pretty evil.

All about Eve said...

Me too! I love this movie but I can't watch it anymore, it's just too sad to see what a great talent was wasted by drugs :(

Sherry said...

Heath's death really affected me too. I had not seen many of his movies but loved him for some reason. He was wonderful as the brother in "Monster's Ball".

ugly leotards said...

I can't possibly be the only person who sees a contradiction here. If the person who was tattling on Heath knew him well enough to know he was battling a drug problem again, wouldn't they know if he was married?

So many of these blinds stink like last week's fish market. It's all fine and cute until people start believing all the horrible, disgusting, victimizing bullshit that the least busy, most poorly educated "lawyer" in the world makes up.

Add me to the 10 things I hate About you crowd. When he danced down those bleachers singing "I love you baby....." I was gone.

Michelle, you have done a phenomenal job raising your daughter. She is a beautiful young lady and you know her daddy would be proud of her. xoxo

Olive said...

@iheartjacksparrow
Hi. No, I've never seen it. I couldn't bring myself to watch it.
I agree. He definitely should have taken time off after playing the Joker.

ClearlyDisturbed said...

Haha so let me get this straight. Actors need to stop being coddled and having those around them enable them to abuse alcohol and drugs BUT its not Heath's fault he was a drug addict who overdosed...we are blaming some young actress that wasn't even in the same state at the time. Gotta love it. Let me know how that TOUGH LOVE works out.

I thought Heath was ok and a decent actor.. hardly the second coming or anything nor do I have any idea first hand how well or poorly Michele is raising their spawn.

Shallow Gal said...

beautiful Heath. Hard to watch his movies now without getting sad.

10TIHAY is one of my faves as well.
