This B list mostly television actress from one of the biggest cable shows on television is lucky to be alive. Apparently she and some friends have been using some land in the hills east of Malibu to try and make their own meth and had a small explosion last week. No one was inside the storage shed they were using but a couple of people were injured trying to push the shed into a pond it was near and then putting out the flames.

Meth is more widely available on the west coast than the east coast, which reports higher uses of cocaine than meth. Meth is now considered the #1 biggest threat by the DEA. Richer tweekers can get much better quality versions of meth as well

I call BS on this. I'm not saying someone saw breaking bad and looked at meth after pictures and said " how hard could it be..." But you know the ' star ' kids took liberal arts courses and not chemistry.

There's been a lot of copycat stuff after Breaking Bad in terms of both meth and ricin. These kids are just doing it to see if they can or just to be cool. Plenty of meth cooks are not educated whatsoever, manufacturing drugs is not that hard. The cost of drugs comes more from having people assuming big risks in the production and across the distribution chain. Similar explosions have also been rising from making hash products like "shatter," which uses dry ice and butane

@Marina: $25-50 in materials to make $200-300 worth of meth. Plus, meth dealers are usually meth heads, so not all that reliable.

@Squeezebox: Adderall is rationed by the Federal government, there have been shortages before. Meth doesn't require Dr visits and copping to ADHD.
