I hate that the correspondent's dinner has become a celebrity event. This should be for actual journalists.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, many of those show up. I have a few friends who went, and I never had any qualms about going to the White House holiday party when I worked there years ago.
I truly despise what the White House Correspondents Dinner has become.

ReplyDelete@Seachica Our political/entertainment/media complex is almost as bad as the military/industrial complex. Someone in the WHCA said on C-span during the event, "Journalists are chasing celebrities, celebrities are chasing the President". A perfect summation of the WHCD.
