Your income is not going to get you through. You get a call from an old friend who used to help you make connections that a foreign born A list actor is looking for some company and you would be perfect. You see your chance. You seduce him the first night so the pregnancy story will work. A month later you tell him you are pregnant. He now is not only giving you money which you funnel to your boyfriend, but the actor even marries you because he is a standup guy who won't leave his pregnant girlfriend single.

So he didn't hire as an escort this time but it was a blind date? The blinds dont bother me as much as the inconsistencies do.

Sounds weird, I know, but it makes sense with the Oscar vote timing: Engagement announcement 2 days before US oscar campaign kicks off, wedding a few days before final Oscar voting ends.
Besides, I think that booking a church wedding on Valentines day,would be something that has to be done super early whether or not you're a celebrity.

False. She returned to London in May, appeared with Ben in Hay in late May. If this were true, then she should already be pregnant. We have the same pregnancy August-September somewhere. Not suitable history - by the time they have seen each other for several months.

Why do people say she is/was a prostitute? According to Wikipedia, it sounds like she's been extremely busy studying theater internationally, writing, directing, and winning the Samuel Beckett Award. In fact, she sounds like the artistic equal of Mr. Cumberbatch minus the popular BBC series, and therefore, a logical partner.
This cumberbatch stuff is getting silly..and I normally adore the ridiculous. If he saved a bus load of orphans clutching puppies, he wouldn't be the Oscar favorite, and yet people think a pregnancy is a vote getter? They may have reconnected in May but it seems like they didn't become close with eachother until around July- when the French Open took place. But even then she wasn't seen frequently with him, and she was in Dublin while he celebrated his birthday in London. Don't you think a serious girlfriend would spend time with her boyfriend on his birthday? August-September she was all over Scotland with a group of friends, while Benedict was in completely different locations.

Wikipedia is definitely not a reliable source and can be edited by anyone, just saying. I searched her on there right when the engagement was announced and none of those accomplishments were on there until pretty recently. They were only added when all these articles talking about how benedict is her "trophy boyfriend" came out. Also, a lot of her accomplishments have been proven to be false or incredibly exaggerated. Like the the Samuel Beckett award was given to a production group she was working with, not her alone. And the Lacuna Theatre has even released a statement saying she is not actually affiliated with them at all.

All those you saw on instagram aren't proof, you don't know for sure when they're taken. Just when their posted. And one of them said throwback Thursday and some were posted 630am. @NW1, I think we have a winner. The part about Matthew having trouble with money still doesn't add up for me though. Matthew released a smashing debut album 'Trust' in 2013. Sophie's babydaddy is Gambles, she pinned the kid on Benedict and now he's married her to save face. He probably has his doubts but the truth will come out once the DNA test is done. Benedict is not going to raise another man's kid and Sophie is probably going to ask for a nice sum to leave quietly. He can either give in or openly accuse her of fraud.

I call BS. What kind of guy marries a woman with her past (i think there was another BI about Hunter being escort) without paternity test? Even Cmberbatch can't be that stupid. Seriously, there is nothing weird about this relationship. he knocked her up at one of the first dates, he decided to do the right thing, but at the same time, being in the awards season, he milked his private life to the fullest. That's it. no escort, no Weinstein, no secret boyfriends, just Cumberbatch and his messed up idea of how Oscar campaign should look like. I give them 6 months till taboids start to publish articles about "trouble in paradise" and another 6 months till they fill for divorce and enter a very public and dirty custody battle.
This doesn't make sense for anyone the way it's written. It would make more sense if the pregnancy happened after the red carpet girlfriend stuff started. Guys do think with their dicks sometimes, but wouldn't you be a little suspicious if the first thing your red carpet gf wants to do after meeting you is screw without a condom? The guy involved may not know about prenatal paternity tests, or it may be too early to get one. And yeah, if it's Cumberbatch, I can see him being that gullible; he's had a stream of people using him, and Hunter is surrounded by experts in the art of using people. But if it's not him, it would have to be someone just as gullible.
@dancer, surely someone he knows, a family member, close friend, agent, publicist, any number of show business savvy types, etc. would have argued, aggressively, against a rising star marrying a near stranger based entirely upon her word. There's no way this blind is true.

There's gullible and there's completely simple. I don't think Benedict is simple! In fact, I think he's a very intelligent man. Neither would he think he had to marry his baby mama in order to get an Oscar. We're not living in the dark ages!
Plus, if it was so easy for others to find out Sophie Hunter was a high class call girl, don't you think he could also find out? And if he knew, don't you think he'd realise others would know soon enough?
If he came out as gay, the fans be denying the possibility of that too. I really think that they would prefer him to be asexual, like his Sherlock character, and can't accept that he might be romantically attached to anyone. Hence these stupid rumours.

He didn't know about Katia, even though he was able to get clear of her pretty quickly. That said, he didn't have an Oscar campaign on at the time that required him to look straight in a hurry. And I've seen fans begging the man to come out already. I think he's really kind of close with guys, myself, but I'm a former fan-- his comments about people with autism did it for me.
First time poster. Even I have to jump in and say that this story makes no sense. Anything is possible but I am just seeing a slideshow of different backstory possibilities, trying to see what fits.
This is starting to feel more like some sort of pitch session at a PR brainstorming meeting, trying to decide which narrative to go with. "Benedict Cumberbatch: Shenanigans in Santo Domingo! You Will Be Shocked!"
Exactly. Amnio is optional, many mothers opt out because of the risks involved and to be on the safe side it is done at 15-20 weeks. SH may have said ok at first then deliberately revealed her pregnancy at PSFF putting BC in a bind. He couldn't force her to go through with it afterwards. If she was already pregnant by someone else she was 3-4 weeks further along than BC thought. What could he do at that point? Start a paternity dispute in the middle of award season? No. So he married her to save face while knowing full well that if a postnatal DNA test proves that it's not his he will be granted an annulment. That is his out.
