Today's Blind Items - Betrayed And Broken
It is the sad fall of a man who was once an A+ list celebrity. He still has A+ list name recognition, although with people under 25, it might be lower than that. Our celebrity has always been deep in the closet. Everyone knows he is gay, but somehow we never even bothered to ask him because we all just know. When he would come on late night television, you were guaranteed a great 10 minute segment. A few years back, he met a guy through a dating service. The guy, is about a quarter the age of our celebrity. He says he met the guy through a dating site. Most people believe he was found either through an escort site or a hookup site. In any event, our celebrity fell in love. Lust. Hard. The next thing you know, the boyfriend moved in and was spending vast sums of the celebrity's money. Vast sums. Sometimes a hundred grand in a month. The celebrity bought him multiple cars and a condo. The condo was for when the boyfriend needed to "work." What it really was though was a place the guy would go with hookups he met at various bars. The boyfriend started staying less and less at the home of the celebrity because of "work," but still managed to use the credit cards the celebrity got for him to pay for every expense imaginable. When the celebrity started questioning the $5000 nights out in clubs, the boyfriend said he was just entertaining clients. Our celebrity was so in love with this guy that he just accepted the stories and cut a lot of people from his life who were trying to paint the real picture. Then one day, the boyfriend told the celebrity that he was moving out. Oh, and that he wanted $2M or he would sell his stories about the celebrity to the media. Surprisingly enough, the celebrity paid the money. I think he was hoping it would keep the boyfriend. Nope. Since the day the boyfriend walked out, our celebrity has just been counting down the days until he dies. He has no life in him any longer. He never leaves the house and only rarely gets out of bed. A sad end to a great guy.

Yeah...the official story was.the death of his dog...I'm sad for him...hoping he will get it together.

My first thought was Richard Simmons, too. Shame, though, he spread so much joy and was full of life. Karma has a way of working some things out...just saying.

I saw JM on the news when his house caught on fire recently. If he's not getting out of bed, he was cleaned up very nicely.
I don't really see him as a+. Plus I've read about what an ass he is in real life. Would enty describe him as a great guy?
Richard's long time lover grew up next door to my aunt in Ky. Here's a story about the guy to show you what a nice guy he is (this was when the guy was younger and living at home many years ago)...one of my aunt's neighbors committed suicide by blowing his brains out, no one would go in the house, yet this guy went in and cleaned up the whole mess for the neighbor's wife. He and Richard also send for his mother every year, fly her out to California first class, and wine and dine her to the limit. My aunt died a few years ago, so I have no idea if they are still togehter.
Definitely Richard Simmons. He'd always be on late night shows back in the day. Awhile ago didn't someone ask the police to check on him and he told them he was fine and just didn't like to go out anymore? This is him.
Richard Simmons, which breaks my heart into a million pieces. He's wonderful and he deserves better.

That's my guess. He's done a couple of interviews recently but he had been pretty much invisible prior to that. He's been talking about the fact that he's completely broke and it's been reported that he's dying.
I agree with all who say it's Richard Simmons and that breaks my heart! I used to work at an animal shelter down the street from where he taught aerobics. With every dog walk, I hoped I'd run into him. Several times I did. He was just as fabulous & full of life as you'd imagine. I hope he can rise above this.
His NAME is A+ list- meaning everyone knows who he is
I spotted him at a Barnes & Noble. I heard his voice first - *rings a bell* - then look up to see RS, complete in tank top and 70s style running shorts! It was mid-winter so the rest of us were wrapped up snug like pigs in blankets, quite the contrast. He was very sweet to everyone in the store. Here's hoping he gets his mojo back.
All of the comments questioning his A+ status must be from under 25 year olds, just like Enty described.
