It was the best that the whistleblower could come up with because the US publication shared an editor with the UK version. Not only were the whistleblower's disclosures conveniently cherry-picked...The journofluencer's bias in who she picked apart in the article was obvious. After all, she promoted a news nepo-baby, who made more money than the other influencers she exposed, by sliding him into another piece with a Q&A-based publication. Two-ish months later.

The dark money piece left out the fact that one of the journofluencer's pals, the former editor of an infamously unserious listicle-based site who rebooted with a more "credible" brand, gleefully endorsed this dark money racket in print before it got critiqued.
