Diandra Douglas Thinks The Rich And Famous Should Have Different Laws

Diandra Douglas gave an interview to a Spanish magazine. After she took the time to throw Catherine Zeta Jones under the bus for selling photos to make a buck and to stay in the headlines, Diandra, who used to be married to Michael Douglas then took aim at the judicial system in the United States. “It’s horrible that someone with money and famous parents should receive such tough punishment.” She was referring to her son Cameron Douglas, who is currently serving time behind bars for various drug related crimes. Apparently she has decided that if you are rich and have famous parents then your punishment should be lighter than those who come from less fortunate circumstances. Unfortunately, there is certainly a double standard when it comes to crime and punishment for the wealthy and less wealthy, but I think that comes more from being able to hire lawyers and spend a ton of money rather than depending on a very overworked public defender to keep you out of jail who has no resources and limited amounts of time to deal with your case when they are dealing with hundreds of others.

Here are the crimes Cameron has been convicted of.

1999- Found with cocaine in Manhattan and was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. The charge was dropped after he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct.

2007- Charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after police officers found a syringe with liquid cocaine in a car he was in.

2009 - Arrested by the Drug Enforcement Administration for possession of 0.5 pounds (0.23 kg) of methamphetamine. Due to the large amount of the drug seized, Douglas was charged with intent to distribute.The charge carries a minimum prison sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life.

2010- Douglas pleaded guilty to both conspiracy to distribute drugs and to heroin possession after his girlfriend had smuggled heroin hidden inside an electric toothbrush and passed it on to him while he was under house arrest.

On April 20, 2010, Douglas was sentenced to five years in prison for both possessing heroin and dealing large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine out of a New York hotel room

In October 2011 Douglas pleaded guilty to possessing drugs in prison and was sentenced to an additional 4-1/2 years in prison for this charge.

January 2013-  Douglas was again found to have drugs in his system while in prison in Loretto, Pennsylvania. He failed a urinalysis and was sent to solitary confinement.

He is due to be released in 2018.

Cameron Douglas Tests Positive For Drugs - In Prison

Earlier this month, Cameron Douglas was thrown into solitary confinement after testing positive for drugs. This is no way for the son of Michael Douglas to act if he is trying to get his 10 year sentence for dealing crystal meth reduced. The New York Post says federal prison officials tested Cameron and found that he was dirty and then sent him to solitary. There is no word on if he is still there or if any additional time will be added to his sentence. In the last couple of months Cameron had a hearing as he appealed the amount of time he was sentenced because he called it outrageous for the crime. He had a point, but the dirty test is not going to help and I guess he will keep using when he gets out.

Michael Douglas Goes To Court For His Son

Yesterday in a Manhattan courthouse, Michael Douglas lent his presence to the proceedings in an appeal to get his son's 4 1/2 year sentence for smuggling drugs into a jail reduced. The case is on appeal and as I told you earlier this week, the 4 1/2 years for the crime is the longest ever handed down and that usually no jail time is given for the crime. So, Cameron is appealing by saying it is harsh and now it is up to the appeals court. I'm not sure what Michael can do except look all celebrity like there in the front row and show the panel that Cameron has his support.

Cameron Douglas Beaten In Prison

Cameron Douglas, the son of Michael Douglas,  says he was hurt in prison playing sports. Every other person who has any knowledge of the situation says that Cameron's broken finger and leg were the result of a $100 bounty being put on his head for being a rat and naming names when he was sentenced last year to 4 1/2 years in prison for trying to smuggle drugs into prison. Most prisoners who attempt to smuggle in drugs are just warned or lose privileges and are not sentenced to jail time, and the 4 1/2 years could be a record for that offense. Cameron says prison handball games are rough. Yeah, let me know next time you break a leg playing handball.

Cameron Douglas Gets Another 4 1/2 Years In Prison

Cameron Douglas better get used to seeing his jail cell for a long time. A judge today sentenced him to 4 1/2 years in prison which is added on to the 5 years in jail he is already serving. Federal prosecutors had only asked for 2 years but the judge said that Cameron had blown the biggest opportunity of his life and sentenced him to a whole lot of prison. Think about this for a second. Redmond O' Neal was basically charged with the same crime in California and got nothing. Cameron got 4 1/2 years in prison. I guess the lesson here is if you are going to commit a drug crime or any other crime, go state and not federal.

Cameron Douglas Says His Lawyer Smuggled Him Drugs In Her Bra

Apparently Cameron Douglas is worth losing your law license for and getting arrested because that is what happened to his lawyer. While testifying against his former drug dealer, Cameron said that after he was arrested a couple of years ago for dealing meth out of his hotel room that he hired a lawyer. Like something out of a movie, his lawyer was female, and presumably attractive. They would kiss as much as they could while in "conference" and she smuggled him drugs into jail by hiding them in her bra. After his bail was revoked and he was sent to prison, the relationship and presumably the drug smuggling continued. At some point the lawyer was arrested and confessed. You would think that would be a guarantee of a conviction, but the charges were dropped. Crazy.

Cameron Douglas Takes It Like A Man

Cameron Douglas plead guilty to just about everything that federal prosecutors charged him with. The big charge was the dealing crystal meth which carries a minimum ten year prison sentence. In comparison the heroin possession thing he had hanging over him because his girlfriend tried to smuggle it to him in an electric toothbrush seems like small potatoes compared to the rest. His heroin situation wasn't as bad as Pete Doherty's but Cameron will still get some extra jail time for his while Pete is sitting at home watching sex tapes he made of judges while he sticks a needle in his arm and talks about how much he loves the UK.

Looking back you could kind of see this guilty plea coming. In that AARP magazine interview, Michael Douglas said Cameron still has a lot of life ahead of him which is true. Cameron is 31 and in ten years he will still have lots of time and it isn't like he will need to find a job when he gets out. Better to get straight now and enjoy the rest of your life then doing the back and forth thing for the next 20- years and realizing you wasted your life away.

Cameron Douglas's Girlfriend Is An Idiot

I would say that high on the list of people not to date would be drug dealers. I am not saying they are at the top of the list but they are fairly near the top. Reason number one is because you are very likely to be arrested at some point during your relationship. Reason number two is that you probably will start using drugs which will cause you to do stupid things. Of course this presumes you are not stupid in the first place for dating said dealer.

Well yesterday in federal court, Cameron Douglas' girlfriend Kelly Scott was arrested. Why was Kelly arrested? Because she passed Cameron an electric toothbrush. Oh, and inside the toothbrush were dime bags of heroin. Yes, inside a federal f**king courtroom she tried to pass someone drugs.

What an idiot.
