Jackie Chan's Son Busted For Drugs In China

If you want to do drugs kids, I would suggest China is probably not your best option. Jackie Chan's son Jaycee which is also probably the name of a Duggar was arrested in China and charged with possession of about a quarter pound of pot and also for providing a place where drug users can use drugs. There have been a ton of people executed for drugs in China and I don't think they do the whole rehab in exchange for no sentence thing either, but I somehow doubt that Jaycee Chan will spend a day in jail. The government says he faces three years in jail and a lifetime ban from performing in any Chinese movies or television shows which is how he currently makes his living. I wonder how much money will pass before this is all hushed up as some kind of misunderstanding while his lesser known actor friend also arrested gets the maximum sentence.

Jackie Chan Disinherits His Son

Apparently Jackie Chan and his son got into some huge disagreement and now according to The Enquirer, Jackie Chan has changed his will and decided to leave his entire $130M estate to charity and disinheriting his 30 year old son who is also an actor and singer. Jackie thinks that his son Jaycee has got too soft and never had to do anything for himself so if he realizes he is not going to get a huge chunk of money when his dad dies that he will do something with his life before it is too late. I wonder if his daughter that he refuses to acknowledge will get anything. She is 12 and he had her with his mistress.

Hello Rush Hour 4

Are they up to number four now in the Rush Hour franchise? I really can't keep up and I am too lazy to go look. Oh, for those of you who really love the series there haven't been any announcements or anything like that. I just feel like it is a pretty safe bet that one will be coming. Jackie Chan is doing that whole Karate Kid remake thing right now. After that I'm guessing that chances are good he will be open to it.

Oh, and I know Chris Tucker will be open to it. It seems Chris owes the state of California about $3.4M. For that amount he could have had his very own Michael Jackson funeral. Was he at the funeral? I'm guessing that instead of paying the $3.4M out of money he already has, that instead Chris would prefer to spend two months making another Rush Hour movie and then pay the government. Plus he could again take the next four years off until another Rush Hour movie.

What Do You Think?

I was never a huge fan of the Karate Kid movies, but I also felt like they should not really be tinkered with because, especially with the first one, they are good movies. OK, only the first one. They jumped the shark with that franchise pretty quick. So, when I did a post a few months back about how Jaden Smith was going to star in the remake of it I questioned whether they should and whether a ten year old was the right age for the main character. It is tough to weave in elements of a love story when your star is ten. Sure, his dad is Will Smith, but even Jaden can't play more than say, 11, maybe 12 if he borrows some shoes from Tom Cruise.

Now though, my whole feeling about this has kind of shifted. No, I didn't take an e-meter test and become best friends with Xenu. Nope. It turns out that Jackie Chan is in talks to be the Mr. Miyagi character who mentors Jaden. See, in the originals, lets face it, Mr. Miyagi couldn't do much more than just talk. Pat Morita wasn't kicking much ass in the films. He was there to be the wise master, kind of like Yoda.

But, with Jackie Chan this becomes an entirely different kind of film and if Jackie is allowed to do his thing then you don't really need a love interest. It just becomes kind of a buddy film. Think of it as Little Rush Hour or something. You know, maybe some dojo has gone crazy and is kidnapping dogs and Jaden loses his as part of the ring. He turns to his friendly neighborhood whatever Jackie is going to be and Jackie and he embark on a crusade to save the dogs. OK, so it still doesn't sound great, but do you think that a Karate Kid remake sounds better if it has Jackie Chan in it?
