Billy Ray Cyrus Will Be Devastated

If the reports are true, and I'm not sure I really care if they are or not, Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston have split. Oh, it's an official split. I love that phrase. It is almost as good as "everyday people." Actually you could almost take that whole Enquirer article from last week and do the whole thing all over again with Miley and Justin. Apparently since Justin has decided not to go hang out on a movie set with Miley while she shoots a movie they have split. Umm, why does he have to go? If the guy wants to model or do whatever he does to earn pocket money, then let him. For the rest of his life is he going to have to follow Miley and be there while she is working on a set? Yes, it is a split. She is working.

Now granted, I am much more likely to believe they are splitting rather than Brangelina simply because Miley is 16 and Justin is 28 or whatever. Oh, ok. He is 20. My bad. Whatever. I at least would not be shocked if they split. I am sure Billy Ray Cyrus will be crushed that he won't have anyone to spot him when he is working out or to help him get his Lindsay Lohan tanning cream on in all the places Billy can't quite reach.

Miley's people didn't have anything to say about the whole thing, but then again, not saying anything means lots more stories so you might as well leave it out there.

Miley's Not Ready To Shack Up With Justin

Miley Cyrus was doing some press for her new book, which she says was really hard to write. Uh huh. Anyway, she was doing press on WKQI which is a Detroit radio station and they actually asked her whether she was ready to move in with Justin Gaston. Now, remember the entire Disney empire has been feeding us the line they are not really even boyfriend and girlfriend. Sure, we all know that is not true, but I don't think officially anyone has moved from that particular mantra. So, instead of repeating the mantra or saying something like she is 16 and he is 20, she instead says she doesn't want to because he is too messy.

"I love him to death, but no . . . [Justin] is so smart, but just like, everything has to, like, go where it's supposed to go and if it doesn't, I get like really frustrated."

So, she is a neat freak and he isn't. Of course you could go totally rated X with this quote as well and say that Justin likes it one way and Miley likes it an entirely different way which would make the whole Justin/Billy Ray thing much easier to understand.

He's Just A Great Christian Boy

I know all of you have probably seen the Justin Gaston photos that have been flying all over the internet. Apparently when Justin parties he does so only without his shirt on. Practically everyone else at this party had his shirt on but Justin, because, I'm guessing the air conditioning wasn't working or because he can't afford any unless Miley is buying. Whatever the reason, I just thought I would post one of the photos to accompany what Miley had to say about Justin today when she was on the radio with Ryan Seacrest.

"He's a really great Christian guy. He's gone through stuff, and I've gone through stuff, and everyone goes through that. I think it's really awesome that we have that in common -- that we can talk about it and that we can understand [each other] ... he gets it."

She then added: "I'm totally gushing right now!"

Well, apparently Justin was gushing a couple of weeks ago at this party. Apparently Miley wasn't invited because it happened after 9pm. You know of course that Miley's parents are very strict and so wouldn't let her go out that night. Unfortunately it much tougher to sneak out of a house wired with alarms than it was when I was a kid. Hell, when I was a kid, my parents left the door wide open hoping I would leave. When I did, they then would lock it and hope that I didn't come back. I may have been a little bit of a troublemaker.

I can only imagine what kind of photos there would have been if Miley had been there instead of the substitute Miley that Justin had to be content with that night.

The NY Post had a report yesterday that said someone overheard Miley Cyrus telling a friend that, ""she was probably staying at Justin's tonight and that they were going to skip the after-party and have a party of their own." I can believe that. Apparently the entire world believed it also. So, to that end Miley's publicist released a statement that said, "Miley had a great time at the show, but the whole sleeping-over thing never happened. Miley went home with her mom and manager. Leticia is very strict with her."

First of all, I don't recall seeing anywhere in the NY Post quote that Miley said she was going to do anything wrong when she went to Justin's place. She just said they were going to have their own after party. I'm sure of course that meant they were going to eat popcorn and watch Jonas Brothers concerts. To throw in the bonus that Tish is really strict with Miley just makes the whole thing even more laughable. Who out there thinks Miley's parents are strict with her? Yeah, that's what I thought. I hate when publicists treat the world like we are idiots and that we just buy the garbage that they stuff down our throats. We have minds and we know how to use them. What if Tish had told the publicist that Miley had indeed spent the night at Justin's and they ended up sleeping together all night. Do you really think she would have told us the truth? Hell no. So, why on earth should we believe her when she said that Miley went home with her mother. Plus, maybe mom said Justin could spend the night over at Miley's house. Hell, if I were Justin I would rather go home to wherever Miley was staying anyway because it is probably nicer than a 6th floor walkup that he shares with four other models.

So He's A No Talent, Mullet Wearing, Ambiguous Guy?

Let me ask you something seriously as a parent. Would you let your 15 year old daughter date a 20 year old guy? Would you let them date knowing if they had sex that the 20 year old was going to jail? Does that give you pause? 15 years old can be like a high school sophomore or something like that, and a 20 year old can be a college junior. Now, I'm not an idiot. I know it happens, and I also know 5 years is not a huge age difference. But, it is a huge age difference at that age with wildly different expectations and demands.

So, I really have a problem with the whole Miley Cyrus romance with Justin Gaston. More of a problem with the way her dad looks like he wouldn't mind a little one on one action with Justin also.

Billy Ray Cyrus told Access Hollywood that, “He actually reminds me a lot of myself when I was 20 years old and I was living and searching for the dream.” Well, first of all Justin already found his dream. A rich girl with willing parents. As for when Billy Ray was 20, I hope Justin never decides to start sporting a mullet, actually has a career that lasts longer than five minutes and hopefully can decide if he enjoys the company of men or women at some point.

The whole thing just creeps me out. The whole family just creeps me out and maybe I am overreacting. You tell me. Right or wrong and would you let your kids do it?
