Lauryn Hill Goes Off On IRS

Lauryn Hill started serving her three month sentence for tax evasion this weekend, but, before she left for jail, she had a few things she wanted to say about the IRS and did so on her Tumblr page. First of all, everyone agrees she owed the taxes on $1.8M in earnings, so I'm not sure how slavery and racism played a part in her having to pay taxes. Everyone has to pay taxes. She had not paid any, despite earning $2M, but because she did have to pay them, she thinks the IRS is being racist? I don't get it and think that she has entered the Marley hot box one too many times.

"I shuddered during sentencing when I kept hearing the term ‘make the IRS whole’… make the IRS whole, knowing that I got into these very circumstances having to deal with the very energies of inequity and resistance that created and perpetuated these savage inequalities. The entire time, I thought, who has made black people whole?! Who has made recompense for stealing, imposing, lying, murdering, criminalizing the traumatized, taking them against their wills, destroying their homes, dividing their communities, ‘trying’ to steal their destinies, their time, stagnating their development, I could go on and on. Has America, or any of the nations of the world guilty of these atrocities, ever made black people or Africa whole or do they continue to sit on them, control them, manipulate them, cage them, rob them, brutalize them, subject them to rules that don’t apply to all? Use language, veiled coercion, and psychological torment like invisible fences to keep them locked into a pattern of limitation and therefore control by others. You have to remain focused to cease from rage."

Rohan Marley Will Try And See His Kids More With Mom In Jail

Rohan Marley can make kids, but he is not so good at taking care of them. The son of Bob Marley has five kids with Lauryn Hill and since they split in 2009 he has not really been a big part of their life. He has been such a small part of their life that the kids are going to be split among relatives while Lauryn goes to jail for three months, rather than staying with Rohan. He does say he will step up and see them more during the three months Lauryn is in jail. I don't understand why he can't just move them into his place for three months or move into their house while Lauryn is away. It is not like she is going away for years. This is a three month long commitment and he is not even willing to make that.

Lauryn Hill Gets Three Months In Jail

Yesterday, Lauryn Hill went into court thinking she would not have to serve any jail time because she had scraped up enough money to pay most of the nearly $1M in back taxes she owed. She had faced one year in jail for each of the three years she had not paid her taxes. Two months ago, the judge hearing her case told Lauryn she was going to face the max in jail unless she paid. At that time she still had paid no money. Yesterday, Lauryn was sentenced to three months in jail.

Lauryn Hill Didn't Pay Her Taxes Because She Felt Threatened By The Military Industrial Complex

If you ever want to know who stays up late at night listening to Coast To Coast and then takes it about ten steps further, then listen for the key words from them of military industrial complex. Yes, it exists, and I am sure there are elements that come after people or businesses. They, or the people behind them are not coming after Lauryn Hill. Why would they? They were huge Roberta Flack fans and still can't get over The Fugees doing a cover of Killing Me Softly? Please. You know what this has to do with? Lauryn smoking waaaaaay too much pot and being very gullible. Lauryn is asking for probation in her tax case and she is set to face a judge next week who will decide if she gets three years in jail or gets to pay what she owes while being on the outside. Apparently Lauryn is no longer concerned with the complex and is happy going out and earning money as fast as she can.

Wycleaf Jean Says Fugees Split Up Because Lauryn Hill Lied About Baby

Wycleaf Jean has a new book out and according to The New York Post, Wycleaf says in the book that the reason The Fugees split was because he and Lauryn Hill were having an affair. Wycleaf was married and having sex with Lauryn. She got pregnant. She told him that the baby was his, but it really wasn't. She had also been sleeping with Rohan Marley and when Wycleaf found out the truth, the group split. "She could no longer be my muse. The love spell was broken." Was it love or lust? Anyway, the group split.

Lauryn Hill Pleads Guilty To Tax Evasion

Not paying taxes for all those years is going to cost Lauryn Hill some years in prison. Maybe. She could get three years in jail when she is sentence in November, but I think as long as she pays her taxes prior to sentencing that she won't get any time at all. What would be the point? She pays her taxes plus penalties, then why do I want her in jail? She is going to cost me money by being in jail. Plus, she has all those kids to take care of so I don't see the point. I would understand if she was doing a Richard Hatch and trying to argue he didn't think he owed any money and was not going to be able to pay. Let Lauryn Hill go out on tour this summer and pay it off and pay more on what she earns and let her be. And this is coming from someone who thinks her reasoning for not paying is ridiculous. Do you think she should go to jail if she pays her taxes and penalties?
