Wonder What Shaq Did This Time

TMZ is reporting that Shaquille O'Neal's wife filed legal separation papers today here in LA. She has been a resident of our state for the past two days and is already taking advantage of our wonderful legal system. She lists the date of separation as November 9th. Shaunie has a had a busy past few days hasn't she? She pulled her kids out of school, moved from Florida to California, separated from her husband, found a lawyer and filed paperwork all in 72 hours.

When TMZ called Shaq'a people for a response they said Shaunie flew to LA and filed here because she thinks she can get more money here. They didn't address why she was filing for separation. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that perhaps Shaq was not the most faithful of husbands? Hmmm? Either that or she really didn't like his reality program or Cleveland's slow start, or she has a thing for Dwayne Wade. So many possibilities. So little interest.

Shaunie is asking for full legal and physical custody of the kids and spousal and child support as well.

Shaq Getting A Divorce And Doesn't Want The Kids

Shaquille O'Neal filed for divorce yesterday in Miami after almost five years of marriage to his wife Shaunie. In his filing Shaquille asks the court that the kids live with their mom and Shaquille be awarded liberal visitation. What that means is that he doesn't want the 4 kids living with him and only wants to see them when he wants to see them which is why he wants liberal visitation.

Liberal visitation doesn't mean I want to be able to see them all the time. Liberal visitation means I want to be able to see them whenever I get around to seeing them and don't want my visit to get in the way of some pre-arranged schedule.

There was a pre-nuptial agreement and Shaunie was going to get a nice big bump if she had made it to December and their five year anniversary.

Shaunie is a very bright woman and throughout her time with Shaquille whether it was as his long time girlfriend or his wife, she was always hiding money here and there and looking out for herself and her kids. While Shaquille was out making the blind item pages, Shaunie was taking care of the kids and herself, but Shaquille didn't like her growing independence or the fact that she was doing well enough on her own that she didn't need Shaquille or his money as much.

Shaquille has found it so emasculating that in his petition he wants the court to ask Shaunie where all her money and property is. Well, she would have to list that anyway, so I don't know why a specific request was made, but Shaq better have all his ducks in a row also. Shaq might be better off just letting her keep whatever she has got instead of having her attorneys start searching through all his private records and payoffs and vacations and shopping trips and things which didn't include his wife.
