Vanilla Ice Has A Reality Show

Vanilla Ice has a reality show and surprisingly it is not about how a guy with no talent still manages to make a living with that same non talent. The guy plays 100 shows a year. Are there really that many people who need to hear Ice Ice Baby live before they die? Is it on the bucket list of people?

Anyway, the show actually sounds interesting. It is on DIY and is about Vanilla flipping homes. I like those kinds of shows and I thought the one Adam Corolla did for TLC was great. Adam actually knew what he was doing and Vanilla says that he has been flipping homes for ten years.

Unlike most shows about flipping, the homes Vanilla Ice flips are usually $1M+ homes in Florida that just also happen to be fixer uppers.

Vanilla's Wife Says It Never Happened

I hate domestic violence. I think I have myself clear on that point. One of the things I hate the most is when a victim can recant her story and then no charges are filed. I think each state should allow prosecutors the ability to file charges against a suspect even if the victim decides to recant their statement.

The reason is simple. Victims of domestic violence are often coerced into recanting their statement. They love the person who hit them or abuses them and they promise themselves it will never happen again. Unfortunately this is not usually the case, and therefore are just setting themselves up to be the victim again.

Prosecutors in Florida today decided to not charge Vanilla Ice after his recent arrest for domestic violence because, "There is insufficient credible evidence to prove the charge beyond a reasonable doubt due to the victim recanting her original statement and lack of an independent witness."

Makes me sick. What is worse though is the happy-go-lucky statement from Vanilla's lawyer.

"His wife from the get-go indicated she didn't want to press charges and it was a big misunderstanding, but police arrested him anyway. We provided the State Attorney's Office with statements that it was only verbal from witnesses and from his wife, who recanted on the scene what she told them."

"Rob's excited that he gets to go back home, because all the restraining orders have been dropped. He can't wait to see his kids, and everyone's excited about it."

I'm sure his wife is thrilled that Vanilla is coming home also. I mean he didn't hit her. Right?

Hit, Hit Baby

Well he didn't actually hit his baby, but Vanilla Ice aka Robert van Winkle was arrested yesterday for allegedly pushing his wife. He said he didn't do it, and she said he did. He said his wife is bi-polar, she said he was upset that she was buying a bedroom set.

Wow, hate to see what he would have done if she got new carpeting. Vanilla has been arrested before on domestic violence charges and should be kept in jail just for being an all around jerk. I mean just the fact he is smiling like that after being arrested for domestic violence is kind of jerkish. I bet he was thinking,"hey this is going to be all over the internet. Free publicity baby. Ice is back."

You know that is exactly what he was thinking. Whether or not I actually did the crime for which I was charged, I don't think I would be sporting a s**t eating grin like that and know I would never be caught rocking a soul patch. I would be pulling that thing out hair by hair before they took that photo.

In his defense, and it is only the tiniest possible defense. She told the cops she wanted to divorce, and presumably told him as well, but still was going out and buying a new bedroom set. That is kind of just like saying, "you will be moving out soon and I am going to be having other guys in here and don't want to be reminded of you."

It doesn't excuse any pushing or hitting. There is never a good reason to hit a woman if you are a man, even if you are married to Denise Richards, but I get the feeling that maybe she wasn't being completely 100% honest. Not that he doesn't deserve a night in jail just for making us all listen to that crap he put out in the 80's . Geez was it that long ago. God I am old.
