HIV+ Man Forced Girlfriend To Have Unprotected Sex

A man in Florida has been charged with criminal transmission of HIV, battery, false imprisonment, two counts of arson, two counts of aggravated battery and sexual assault after he doused his girlfriend with gasoline on Halloween night and forced her to have unprotected sex with him. He told her during the assault that she was going to die one way or the other. He says that she was cheating on him which is what made him do it. During the assault the man also doused the kitchen table with gasoline and set it on fire. She says he would not let her leave even though he had covered her in gasoline.

She managed to free herself and got out of the house.

So, where's the attempted murder charge?

More importantly - where's the relevance to celeb gossip? A tenuous connection at best.

Does anyone else think this guy resembles Bobby Brown?

Eeeviil. I hope the scumbag fries.

It should absolutely be attempted murder, considering he said she was going to die one way or another. That shows intent.

Sick and disgusting.

@Lucas excellent use of the word tenuous! Esp since Enty has been neglecting it lately.

You beat me to it, "a."

How is this not attempted MURDER?

Sheesh.

Fl lawyer here. Intentionally having unprotected sex w someone if you are HIV positive can be grounds for attempted murder charges but I haven't seen it outside the bar exam.

How about the covering her in gasoline and lighting fires near her part?

I think he doused her in the gas to try and prevent her from catching the Hi 5. Very caring gesture on his part. They have found an anti fungal foot cream aids (heh) in blocking transmission, so who knows what other home remedies are out there.

Yup, that's the first thing I thought, Bobby Brown!

He should be doused in gasoline, but someone should actually light a match. See how tough this guy is then.

As a general rule, you have to be black in order to be prosecuted for HIV transmission. As I've pointed out before, here and on other discussion boards.

Of course. FL (my disowned Home State) and Texas. The latter has a dbase of their judicial murders listed on an official website--the lack of racial diversity is revolting.

And I've always liked it that CDAN--Marks I & II (& III?)--occasionally posts stories with some sort of real-world significance.

ENTY. Forced sex is rape. Call it rape, please.

Ohh @Lucas. So crass, flippant, and unfeeling. But there's points in it, no doubt about it. Points indeed. Probably about 60 for the flippant, 8 for the unfeeling. Just 1 for the crass. About a gazillion for the tenuosity of the whole thing though. Mmm, that about does it I reckon.

In related news, I think we should start grading comments. You clicksters get megawatts - especially VIP on a Friday. And 7 and V anytime ;)

@musical_life, cosign. Such a marginal distinction ...

I'm sure most of y'all are more liberal in the area of things like the death penalty than me, but I'd bring back some of those Old Testament style punishments. Heck, I'd like to see a town square guillotine, stretching racks, bed of nails, etc.
