Ke$ha's Mom Says She Has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Ke$ha's mom has been doing a pretty good job of looking like an idiot since Ke$ha went into rehab for an eating disorder and booze and whatever else she is doing there. I think Ke$ha's mom misses being relevant and doesn't want her daughter to find someone else who wants to live of Ke$ha's money so she checked into rehab with Ke$ha but not before giving a statement that she is suffering from PTSD. Huh? You mean the same thing that returning soldiers have when they come back from being shot at and mortared and living on the edge of death every single day? You mean that PTSD? Yeah, so you can go ahead and start hating her now. What was the cause of her PTSD? Ke$ha going to rehab was enough to trigger it. Look, I don't care when people make up fake crap they want to say they are in rehab for instead of the truth, but I think it is insulting for her to say she has PTSD. There has been nothing that has gone on in the past two weeks to trigger it and it makes light of people who actually do have PTSD. If Ke$ha knows her mom is making this crap up then Ke$ha needs to step up and apologize for her mom.

I care nothing for either of these two but I do find it odd that a rehab facility would take on 2 close family members at the same time. ( disclaimer - I know nothing of rehab facilities)

I can't stand people who make these ridiculous claims. I also can't stand people who have to turn every single situation into something about themselves. No wonder Kesha is messed up. She can't even go into rehab to try and start healing without her mom making it about herself and bullying her way into the rehab center.

What child should apologize for a parent?
How's about some personal responsibility/accountability?

Entern, honey, have a mimosa. It's Sunday morning!

PTSD isn't exclusive to soldiers. Rape victims often have PTSD, as do victims of horrific crimes, natural disasters, etc. It's post-TRAUMATIC stress disorder.

That said, Kachinga doesn't need to apologize for her mother. Mom's obviously capitalising on her daughter's issues and I don't know when/why/where/how the mother has ever been relevant enough to warrant a news item.

Meanie Rhysie said...

Thank you, Bacon!!

Wtf, Kesha is responsible for her Mother??

No. Fuck that, StoopitEnty.

Seven, the voice of reason. :)

Flygirl said...

Thank you @ Seven of Eleven. I was going to say the same thing. I've dealt with PTSD and I'm not a soldier.

Hopefully, (and I think this is the case) the rehab facility keeps the two apart.

Beetlejuice said...

Thank you Seven.

I had PTSD after being robbed at gun point.

Meanie Rhysie said...

And, in a non-snarky way...

Her mother looks rough. Damn!

Yes, dump on today's Enty for not being specific enough.

So what was ur-Ke$ha's trauma? Did it compare to the level of any of the given examples? I doubt it.

Robert said...

"misses being relevant"??? I must not have been paying attention, because I don't recall a time when K-dollar sign-Ha! herself could be called relevant, let alone her mother.

Small1 said...

Thank you @ Seven! PTSD is very serious and not just for soldiers.

msgirl said...

Again kudos to Seven. I suffered from PSTD from growing up with an bipolar abusive mother, never knowing when she was gonna strike out at me. To a young child, it's a crushing situation.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Look just because you fuck for tracks doesn't mean your soul doesn't die a little each time. How often did the situation get out of hand even beyond what she expected? What she took to cope got out of hand. I hope she heals.

Poni-Tayl said...

Why advertise going to rehab regardless of any pathetic excuse. Who cares? I can't believe this was even published.

To copy and paste my comment from yesterday:

I don't beleive that Ke$ha's mother is not doing her daughter any favours at this point in time. She seems to be blaming anyone BUT Ke$ha (and by that, I mean Ke$ha needs to take SOME responsibility for her situation in order to address it properly) - as well as Dr Luke, she's blaming Darren Craig (Ke$ha's former boyfriend - break-up was traumatic for her); and an advisor who told her to do whatever it took to lose 15lbs in a month. Oh, and add to that she told one publication that her daughter doesn't want to be forced to make 'stupid pop music' anymore. Not a good move!

Exactly this, except my mother was bipolar and borderline personality.

Foster children also are regularly diagnosed with PTSD :(

Maybe she has PTSD from being on the simple life with Paris

NaughtyNurse said...

To me, it sounds like a very controlling, f-ed up mother is trying to insert herself into Kesha's rehab experience in an effort to control what she says and and does. Again, no wonder Kesha is screwed up.

Beth said...

Thank you Seven.

Enty, way to try to shame people you ignorant slut. Why don't you try googling something before getting on your soap box?

As so many before me here mentioned, you can have PTSD from many things that fall under the witnessing or being the victim of violent/traumatic events...rape, incest, robbery, accident, natural disaster, war, psychological/emotional trauma, abuse survivor ...the list goes on and on.

Here's a personal example, I have it from losing a pregnancy and hemorrhaging so badly I nearly died (a traumatic event) so a medical emergency can cause PTSD, I get flashbacks of the blood, without warning--it's hard to go into hospitals. Nightmares. It's PTSD, diagnosed by a real doctor.

Don't you think people that live through a natural disaster could develop PTSD? Open your mind. Jeez.

Its just U said...

Who knows what happened in her life that may have been traumatic. People manage and cope with situations until they can't manage and cope anymore.
Who knows, maybe seeing her daughter get help may have shown her a way to get better.

The mother may have PSTD, but jesus, could she let her daughter have her moment to heal? She cld have waited or gone quietly to her own rebab. I think she;s a selfish bitch.

Squid said...

No one needs to apologize for their mother.

Kelly Bassin said...

LOL @ Harlow17!
There was a blind item quite a while ago titled, "She's had a hard life," in which a pop singer's mother had to turn tricks to keep the family fed. The blind also said that the mother made the singer turn a couple of tricks too. Kesha was the popular answer for the blind. Although I doubt the blind was totally true, I would think that working as a prostitute when one does not wish for that kind of life would cause some PTSD.

1. Ke$ha is not responsible for her mother's behavior, so she owes no one an apology, much less a bunch of random strangers (like us)
2. PTSD is not limited to soldiers--do some research before you embarrass yourself with your posts
3. Ke$ha's mother has never been relevant, so how could she miss it? You're confusing her with Dina Lohan.

Beth, my heart goes out to you. Don't pay attention to jerks, it's their problem with something you said and has nothing to do with you.

PTSD : I agree w Beth whoever this Enty is - perhaps thoughtless - you're obviously not educated - even lawyers know about PTSD due to often working with/on behalf of clients with the condition.
Cunty Enty - that was ignorant and cunty.

Unknown said...

Yes I am shocked that Enty is so thoughtless about something so serious.

PTSD is something that can be festering for decades unknown to the person who never got the help they needed, who never understood there is a name for what is bothering them let alone help, like sexual abuse in childhood, whether from outside or inside the family or surviving a tragic event of any kind, like many people who survived the attacks of 9-11.

During Celebrity Rehab, Dr. Drew always does has sessions with family members as they are often part of the problem and they are certainly part of the solution.

When Amber the former model was on, Dr. Drew had her mother in and they were co-dependent drug addicts, they did their drugs together and he talked the mother into going to rehab right then and there but I am pretty sure it was not the same facility.

Unknown said...

Sometimes it takes dealing with another family member's issues or someone else having the courage to seek help that makes another family member realize they need help.

Thank you for sharing Beth.

@Violet--maybe it's a good thing they're in same rehab facility. Maybe they can have some fucking family therapy. Maybe we can get a good Lifetime movie out of it...

Though PTSD isn't my specialty I've taken several courses & have it.
1. As many said PTSD isn't just soldiers - that's how it was 1st discovered (called 'shell shock' after WW2). After Vietnam, it became known as PTSD but was still relegated to soldiers and fairly recently gained acceptance as an illness all can have.
Yes, PTSD can be caused by any event beyond what a person can likely expect to occur. Not all people who experience trauma get it & it effects many differently. It's estimated 90%+ of addicts have it - addiction changes brain chemistry (& usually pathways) which alters user's experience of PTSD)
In this day & age it saddens me greatly when I someone shamed. Imo, people in authority positions have a responsibility to not shame others. It's very sick & keeps so many sick cycles going.
Triggers can be sounds, smells, weather, tone of voice, song, many aren't even aware of them. Sometimes by finding them patients can use diff tools to 'come back' to present (triggers cause them to relive trauma as if it was happening right here/now).
Enty, do research.
Anyone here truly know if she has it? Does it matter to you? Maybe she does.
Finally, I had 5 separate very traumatic events (raped twice, car accident twice - my baby died in 1 best friend in other), & bf stabbed himself in front of me between 18-20.
Beth, it's their s**t, not yours. I'm proud of you. :)

Enty needs to take a stroll over to the Veteran's Administration website and read about PTSD. I cannot credit them enough for their research! They have an excellent paper for first responders. Their methods of therapy are proven and explained in layman's terms. Education Enty!!

Elissa said...

There's not much I can add to the awesome comments of so many other, except this: trauma doesn't have to be recent to cause PTSD. The worst symptom, in my particular case, is that I don't get the sense of distance that comes with the passage of time. I don't relive things, but every trauma seems recent, from the dentist who used to hit me when I was 4 (and who is the reason that I have the teeth of a meth addict) to the many childhood molestations, to the pond scum that raped me as an adult and fathered my youngest child, to the recent suicide of my little brother in a fairly gruesome manner. I never get "closure", because it's never in the PAST.
Yes, that timing of her announcement is suspicious, and it's likely a publicity ploy, but it's unfair to make that determination on the mere fact that she hasn't seen military service.

OneGirlRevolution said...

Um...I think enty was giving an EXAMPLE Of real PTSD (as opposed to Kesha's mom's very likely fake PTSD) if you read, he doesn't say anywhere that only soldiers can get it.

In fact, he says, "and it makes light of people who actually do have PTSD," i.e. he's saying that people who fake PTSD belittle the people who actually suffer from it...like the people who shared their stories here.

Way to attack someone for getting angry at someone who shits on true sufferers.

AIP said...

If that is indeed the case Lola, the the Enties need to learn how to string a coherent bloody sentence together.

Considering they have been hinting that Kesha was molested at some time in the (recentish) past, they are being unreasonably hard on her. What the f* do they know about what could trigger a flashback?

AIP said...

*the Enties.

Yes I know... My iPad has a well-developed sense of irony.

OneGirlRevolution said...

Unless my reading comprehension is failing me, I don't believe enty said (or even implied) that Kesha was faking anything so I fail to see how this post is a . being unreasonably hard on her, or b . making any commentary as to whether Kesha had/didn't have a flashback.

Unless I have missed something, enty is saying her mother is a lying piece of shit who is blithely using PTSD as an attention getting excuse, and in doing so insults people who actually do suffer.

NaughtyNurse said...

I think people are misreading this item. It says that Kesha's mom is suddenly claiming she, herself, has PTSD and must go into the same rehab center Kesha is in. The scenario reeks of the daughter trying to get help for herself, and her attention-seeking mom saying, "Oh, no! This is all about ME! I need help MORE!"

Baba said...

@seven thanks for posting that before i could. i was about to flip out on the entern. i'm already having a shit day, i didnt need to read about someone questioning and stereotyping ptsd.

i have ptsd from a relationship. a relationship you fracking entern. sorry i dont fit your narrow view of who qualifies for ptsd.

Hegg said...

I am glad to see some folks on here opening enty's mind on the human state. Military related PTSD is definitely not the only type. It is the most well known however as boys from WWI had it and called it something else at that time so it has been around for quite some time.
I was abused consistently for 16 years and have a panic disorder and ptsd.
