This former A+ list mostly movie actor has slipped to A list because of his recent bad movie choices but at least he still has his looks. Apparently though he is becoming even more of a pain to deal with though because he hates his new movie he is refusing to do any kind of press for it unless he is paid more. He probably would still skip out on it. Producers are hating him right now. Well, they join a very long list.

Ryan doing press is part of your job and the contract you signed to get paid to do the movie.
Not one person got it because it's a steamy pile. Actors are contractually obligated to do press. Yes, they can be jerks while doing it (hello, Bruce Willis!), but they still have to do it. Unless it was some dinky indie film from Dubuque, there's no way he'd be able to refuse to do press, have producers hate him, and continue having a career.

Possilby The Voices, which I never heard of, but has Anna Kendrick, so I'll probably try to see on tv or rent.
I never found Ryan Reynolds attractive. It doesn't help that the entire world tells me I should.
I better not see another blind item now if him being A+
I just don't find Ryan Reynolds or Ryan Gossling attractive. I don't get the hype.

I guess it was for RIPD, since he's done lots of promotion for The Voices, not at Sundance bc he was sick but at Sundance London and for TIFF...
I bet Blake is the real pain to deal with.

If I had to choose Ryan's I'd take Reynolds over Gosling any day.
@skipper, Im thinking this IS for "The Voices" @ Sundance,Park City in Jan.2014.RIPD was in July '13 & He got booed in Cannes in May '14 for "The Captive" repercussions m/b?
Yep, actually at the time this BI was posted Sundance was taking place and he skipped it for health reasons though...I doubt it was bc he didnt like the movies, it has had good reviews and has won some prices too in Europe...it defo was better received than The Captive!
I just wish they'd quit trying to make Ryan Reynolds an action star. The only person he's tougher than is Ryan Seacrest--and that's iffy. I bet if you insulted Seacrest's hair he'd throw down.

When in the world was he A+??? The only blockbuster he was in was Green Lantern, right? And that was a flop.
He's not ugly but he's also nothing special. I see guys that look like him every day. Plus he has a douchey look on his face most of the time. The only movie he was ever good in was The Proposal and again he was only good because of Sandra Bullock and Betty White.
RR, IMHO, is fairly nice looking but def frat boy and def NOT "THE SESSIEST MAN ALIVE". I saw him in person when Scar Jo was making over my dog. He looked good. But still don't think I would. I don't perculate for Frat Rows finest. Then again, I like him in movies.
Gosling? Takes some hunky shots and pics. Don't get tbe massive hype cuz he can look odd pretty often.

Actors are NOT contractually obligated to do press. They are expected to do it. If they don't everyone knows about it and takes it into consideration the next time they think about hiring them.

Nick James, editor of the film magazine Sight & Sound, said: "It's certainly surprising. It's usually written into stars' contracts that they're supposed to do a certain amount of publicity – especially for such a big-budget blockbuster. Edward Norton has been in a wide variety of films, so interviews would provide good human interest angles for the press. His absence will affect the publicity."
It's written into most major-studio contracts, but it's a rider. It's not the primary work that an actor is being contracted to do, and some actors refuse to have a PR rider included. Most don't gripe about it because if you want to keep being offered eight-figure salaries per picture, you need to plug those films so that they pull box office grosses. It's in the actor's best interest to flog their flicks.
@ducky And, please, let's not forget Oscar Nunez was hilarious in The Proposal.
What movie was this for?? He didn't have any new movies come out in early 2014?? Maybe that was why no one guessed him.

Ryan's film The Voices premiered 1/19 at Sundance. I'm thinking people don't attribute A+ movie actor to Reynolds, because I'm thinking more along the lines of real stars, like Pacino types. Not Van fucking Wilder!!!
