Donald Lapre Indicted For Fraud

Donald Lapre has been a late night infomercial staple for years. He has been making people rich for so long that you would think he would have already made everyone rich. Unfortunately it looks like none of the people who bought his products ever actually got rich. Lapre was indicted yesterday by a federal grand jury on 41 charges. Sounds like a lot, but by the time everything is done, it will probably a couple of misdemeanors and a fine. Anyway, he was indicted for selling 200,000 people one of those start an internet businesses which are essentially worthless.

Of course they are. They just say start a web page and then people will come to your page and buy products from it. Yeah, that is likely to work. The victims spent almost $52M on Lapre's packages.

a late night staple? no way. until he becomes infamous, á la "you're killing me, larry!" type of line, he is not a late-night staple.

I think he was a staple back in the 90's.

But anyway, you mean it was a pyramid scam?! NO! I won't believe it!
