Adam Lambert Will Front Queen For One Night
That headline could probably be taken a lot of different ways. Adam Lambert finally confirmed what everyone already knew in that he will be the lead singer for Queen for one night this summer. He will perform with the bad on July 7th at Sonisphere. I think I need to spend one summer just going to every music festival in England and the UK because I think in that one summer you would probably see every band that exists today. One summer, 5,000 bands. I think Queen should find a permanent singer and Adam would be good for them. The problem is they don't play that much anymore because they are all rich and it takes them awhile to get motivated.

Good for him. He's a good fit for a one time performance, maybe two...but they can never replace Freddie and they know it.
Now I'm going to have to YouTube Adam. I've never seen or heard him perform so it'd be hard for me to have an opinion on this. I love Queen though so I hope everyone does well!

Am I reading this correctly - 1 concert? It seems like an awful lot of rehursal for 1 concert.
Damn, I wish they would bring that show to Los Angeles. I didn't love Adam's first album, too much club music. But I'd love to see him fronting Queen.
I've thought for a long time that if Queen ever wanted a permanent lead singer again, Adam would be perfect for it. No, he's not Freddie Mercury, no one is, no one ever will be, but he has a fantastic voice and his flashiness is over the top. I think he'll do a great job. Would love to be at that concert!
Adam is a good singer, but the fuss over him during his time on American Idol was unwarranted. His fans thought he was the second coming of Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, and Elvis Presley, all wrapped up with a bow. That and the lead-off singles from both his eras have left me jaded on him. I'm sure he'll do a good job with Queen, but I'm not interested in any way.
I think Adam wants to make his own music and not just sing covers forever, so being able to play with them once in a while seems like a nice balance.
I hope that he takes this seriously. I still say he'll end up being a "where are they now" type of entertainers.
I loved Adam on AI but don't like the type of music he puts out. He can definitely make this work while still being himself and not trying to slavishly emulate Freddy.
I don't follow AI that often, but as an outsider, he is keeping his name out there in mostly a good light. That is important in the industry.
I never watched that season and I know who he is. AndI love Queen..so hope this works well for him.
I agree with Dianne P - I loved him on Idol but don't like the music he's put out. That said, he should do OK with Queen. Brian May seems tickled to have him.
I watched that season of AI, I liked Adam, he had guts and boatloads of talent. He also seemed to be a very nice guy, open, friendly and kind. I hope he nails it in this once in a lifetime gig.
God I just want to see Brian May live one time in my life. Please ???
I think he'd be great as a fill-in for Queen. Obviously Freddie is irreplaceable, but AL definity has the same intensity for theatrics Freddie did and he can belt a tune out. Id love to see the performance!
(SIGH) I like Queen and I miss Freddie. Adam might fit well with the rest of the band. I would have liked George Michael to be their front man.

As a Queen fan, I'm cautiously optimistic about this - however I wish it was anywhere but Knebworth. It's almost sacred ground for us fans (site of Freddie's last live performance with Queen).
