The Enquirer Rolls The Bus Over Macaulay Culkin Again

After Macaulay Culkin and his people spent the better part of a day and a half denying the whole addicted to heroin and oxycontin story the Enquirer ran, and were talking about lawsuits and such, The Enquirer stepped up to the plate and swung again and told Macaulay that he should get professional help or he would suffer the same fate as his friend who died of an overdose earlier this year. The Enquirer then named one of their sources. It turns out the family of Elijah Rosello confirmed that Elijah and Macaulay had done drugs together prior to Elijah's drug related death in March. I think The Enquirer named a name so Macaulay would realize he had no place to go and would back off. Since the statement was released yesterday there has not been a peep from any of his people.

His people should not leave him home alone. (get it!?)

They are going after him like they did John Edwards.

It's nice to see a tabloid using its power for GOOD for a change

LOL @Chad

good for them for using their power to make him get help!

Frufra said...

Yes, I want to know more about Kirstie (that means see more pics!)

Mac makes me so sad - what a lost soul.

As much as I hate to say it, the Enquirer seems to know their shit a lot of the time. Kudos to them for using their power to try to help someone this time.

Makes me wonder this publication runs blinds. They seem to have a great legal department.

ablake said...

I always doubted the Enquirer, until they were the ones who exposed 'the blue dress' (Lewinsky)

Henrietta, I am not quite sure what you mean? What in the world does Home Alone kiddo have to do with John Edwards?

AuntJess said...

I hate to be the Debbie Downer here guys but shame doesn't really work w/ H addicts. They have to WANT to get straight for themselves. I'm willing to bet the only thing the Enquirer is doing for Mac is pissing him off. Not helping him get clean.

StewMcG said...

ABlake, NE was the one who broke the John Edwards affair/scandal.

seaward said...

LOL ABlake, the Enquirer is who broke the story of John Edwards' cheating scandal.

I love Mac, hope he gets hisself clean :/

Kim D Esq said...

I buy the heroin story. But he may have to really bottom out before he even wants to get clean. Im not sure that's happened yet.

Agent**It said...

Enquirer also broke the Gary Hart scandal.

@ALBlake the Enquirer was the publication that originally exposed the John Edwards scandal. The MSM knew about the rumors of his "love child" but wouldn't print anything. The Enquirer agressively pursued the story for months and eventually got pics of him visiting the babe and that's how the scandal went public. Henrietta's saying they're pursuing this Culkin story the same way they did the Edwards story.
Say what you will about their obvious and pointless blinds, but they don't make shit up.

ABlake - it was Matt Drudge (Drudge Report) who broke the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Heroin is a horrible, horrible drug. I know a girl who has been battling this addiction for a few years now. She's 20. She steals from her family to get money from pawning things. Right now she's taking her Suboxone, but we'll see how long it lasts.

I knew it was true when his lawyer "beseeched the press to stop spreading the story." if it wasn't they would have at least done a cease and desist with the actual threat to follow thru w a lawsuit. The word beseech sealed it for me. So sad I really didn't want this to be true. I hope he gets help.

lolaluvs2snack said...

Wow, get on heroin from a break up? I'm not buying that, its a conglomerate of things.

auntliddy said...

Wow. Mag trying to help. Just wow.

The Enquirer used to be a joke but in the last few years they've really stepped it up and get a lot of stuff right. I don't doubt them anymore though they probably still run some BS but this isn't it.

MadLyb said...

Poor kid - I hope he gets off that crap. I think calling him out on it may push him towards getting help.

I'm with AuntJess. Ain't no way you can just magically convince an addict to go to treatment and have it stick unless he WANTS it to. So, yeah, NE is probably just pissing him off at this point. Not sure that's the way to do it, guys.

Think of the millions of heroin addicts worldwide who manage to hide their disease. My best friend in Vancouver was a junkie. High-functioning, except when he was nodding out or jonesing. He kept me away from opiates and was very protective of me, and when I went into rehab, he went deeper and ended up homeless, got beat up, hospitalized, then went to a methadone clinic and found lodging in a provincial halfway house and started university classes. He was one of the kindest and smartest people I ever met. I hate opiates and I feel sad when I think about people hooked on them. Massive rehabilitation and therapy is necessary to get people off them. Lots of junkies can only get better if they get a daily maintenance dose of some kind of opiate or a drug that hits the chemical receptors for opiates. That whole smirky "Ha ha, I'm doing drugs" attitude is part of what got him into this crappy place.

AnonyMrs said...

Isn't that pic old? Why are people just now starting to worry about him? He has looked like that for at least a year now. Just saying...

billybob said...

Poor kid. Heroin is one of my most feared words. A close relative of mine had to leave London and live out in the country to get away from all the temptation. Hope he doesn’t overdose and die. This shit can affect your breathing centre and cause a respiratory arrest.

Elizabeth said...

I don't know if it's true or not but he looks so unhealthy it's highly believable. Parents that want their kids to be child stars take heed. There are very few examples where it turned out well...unless you love money more than your child.

ablake said...

surfer, back then the majority of folks weren't as plugged into Drudge online as they were the NE in line.
Yikes though, thanks for the clarification folks:) Had no idea NE had a huge hand in exposing Edwards. (I do remember Hart though Agent:D)

I seriously hope Mac gets it together. He's a talented fella. Much more ahead of him than behind him. He needs to know that.

Rose said...

I'm guessing they don't realize addiction isn't like cancer. You can't really predict someone's death. He could just as easily die today from an overdose while others live longer than you can even understand why.

I really hope he decides to get help while he can.

Opiates...fun until it suddenly grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. I'm wishing him all the best, he can kick this if he's ready.

I love Macauly 'I like a clean workspace' Culkin. :( So sad.

I don't know if Macaulay is on drugs, but the Enquirer has a habit of running 6 months to live stories. They did one on Chaz Bono a year ago. I think they did one on Oprah on Kirstie Alley. Every once in while they get something right, but for the most part it's all smoke and no fire.

Marie said...

That Kirstie Alley headline cracks me up. Her diet program doesn't work? No shit! HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF HER ASS?

Anotheramy said...

MC has always been a very sad person hasn't he. Since the very beginning.

zeldafitzgerald said...

Why does he only have six months to live? You can live forever pretty healthily on heroin if you have access to good shit and don't have to live a life of crime to score. Not like alcohol.

Monica said...

Poor guy . Another victim of child sexual abuse. Remember when he used to hang out with MJ? Yeah.

captivagrl said...

This is sad. I hope he still has a few good people in his life.
