This actor used to be almost A list. More of a popularity thing rather than an acting thing. Struggled awhile and is now on television. Barely. Won't be on long on this hit network show if producers discover the reason their barely out of her teens actress star got hooked on coke. He just hates to use alone and the woman he was using with dumped him earlier this year.

The only show I can get to fit is Vampire Diaries, with Ian Somerhalder as the guy. He recently broke up with Nina Dobrev, so maybe Kat what's-her-name or the other what's-her-name is his new snort buddy.

Any new actors join modern family? Idk. I rarely watch network, and can only think of a handful of shows with young actresses as stars.

Bones - David Whoreanaz, they wouldn't drop him
Castle - Nathan Fillion, widely known to be a nice guy in the biz
Glee - Corey Monteith? Popular for the school reference?
How I Met Your Mother - none of the 3 male leads can be dropped

Maybe it is Corey Monteith (except for that almost A-list tag, and AFAIK he and Lea have not broken up). Maybe the rehab supposedly for alcohol is for coke? And he IS surrounded by very young actresses.
Rob Lowe is clean-been sober for something like 25 years, and, given the pics of him in the Sunday Times magazine last weekend, he's not only clean, he's healthy and hot!

Soap opera acting cliches aside, Jonathan Jackson has multiple Emmys so he's not completely unknown. Played the son of Luke and Laura for many years on and off.
