People Hate Kanye West - Spend Money To Prove It
Kanye got his feelings hurt when the fashion director of Louis Vuitton couldn't find the time to spend with the whiner so Kanye wanted every one in the world to see how powerful he thinks he is and went on a NYC radio station to tell listeners to not buy Louis Vuitton until after the holidays. This shows that Kanye isn't as powerful as he thinks he is and that people hate him with a passion and are willing to spend money because they dislike him so much.

Funny, that was my first reaction, too. I'm not really the Louis Vuitton type - I like quieter designer labels like Bottega Veneta - but I actually thought 'I should buy something from Louis Vuitton to show my support.'
I don't believe this for a second. Who would spend money to show that they don't like someone?
Especialy with a designer known for hundreds (if not thousands) of dollar merchandise?

Have you seen the parody by James Franko and Seth whatshisface? That is way more watchable than the Kimye version, and much funnier. I couldn't watch the original all the way through, with the sound off.
@Bacon is right - there are no reports of "record sales" after that happened. I can't imagine Vuitton's top customers even being aware of Kanye West, much less caring about them. Too bad, because Louis Vuitton a suitcase big enough for Kanye's ego.

If the remark just happened, I kind of doubt they'd have that kind of info that quickly --retailers would not know/report a surge that quick so if it is direct sales maybe but it seems kind of questionable.
I watched Kanye's interview with Ellen the other day and he certainly gives off a crazy vibe--either he's goofing on us or he's just kind of nutty.
My favorite part of this is that he thinks designers are shutting him out because he's a black rapper, not for the obvious reason of him totally sucking.

Louis Vuitton is just paying to advertise their (very expensive) brand. Their bags are unattractive and lack style, you're paying for the logo.
