Brittany Murphy's Mom Writes Open Letter To Dispute Poison Claims

I am not a big fan of Brittany Murphy's mom. I think there has been something shady about her for a long time and I don't think she ever told the full truth of what she knew about the death of her daughter or Simon Monjack. With all of that being said though I still trust her way more than I trust Brittany Murphy's dad who is a three time convicted felon. He is trying to make a buck off his daughter's death just like he probably tried to make a buck or two off her while she was living either by asking her directly for money or selling stories about her to the tabloids.

Was there something wrong with Brittany prior to her death? Absolutely. Was there something wrong with Simon Monjack prior to his death? Absolutely. Is it strange that those two died of some type of mold or other thing that seemed to have spared even the slightest illness to Brittany Murphy's mom even though she lived with them? Absolutely. I have always felt there needed to be more investigation into the deaths of these two and that no one was ever given a straight answer. They were the strangest deaths I have seen in a long time and I don't think the full truth has ever been given but I also don't think that what Brittany's father or lab has done will help matters because they want a buck and not the truth. So, they may have ruined a really good chance to learn something more.

If you want to read the open letter Brittany's mom wrote you can click here.

I think Simon and Mom conspired to kill her off - didn't they have a sexual relationship after Murphy died? But I don't think he expected her to kill him as well.

luved her. bummer to see her memory dragged thru the mud like this.

Yep, it's shady.
Again, it's odd how 2 young seemingly healthy people died of toxic mold while mom (who had cancer at the time) is perfectly fine.
I don't know what people he used but I would like to think hair spray doesn't leave HEAVY METAL remnants in your hair/scalp.

Mom inherited everything. All I know is that if my daughter died unexpectedly, the last thing I would say (privately or publicly) is "we will probably never know"

But hey, that's just me having a soul and stuff.

I don't know what she died of (though I suspect drugs had a huge part) and I think the mom is a weirdo but I don't think she killed her daughter. Listen to the 911 tape - she is devastated. That picture of Britney is lovely.

Yeah I agree, very suspicious.

I too always thought that Simon and the mom were having an affair (wasn't there some questionable pictures of them walking in a cuddle manner after Brittany's death?) and then she bumped him off.

Very Wild Things ending vibe!

Where are all this mold rumors coming from? I thought she died of pneumonia or asthma or something like that which was a result of her drug use? I always assumed he did the same drugs as her, and somehow they got some bad stuff which poisoned them. That's much more realistic than thinking an ill woman murdered the daughter who was supporting her.

Sorry. Just read her letter where she mentions the mold thing. I think she's leaning on that because she's in denial about Britney's drug use, but that's because I'm not a conspiracy believer.

Topper, when she died it was said it was due to 'toxic' mold. Her husband died of the same condition 6 months later
(can't clicky, here's the link from less than a week ago)

Her mother admitted to the police that she shared the bed with the husband after her (and before his) death.

Crazy stuff.

Well, Britney Spears lived in that house with no issues whatsoever prior to Brittany Murphy, so one has to wonder ...

There's not much left of the house at the present time - the owners have stripped it right back bare, with just the frames standing. I'd want to rebuild it too, with a history like that.

I saw a clip recently where Montag showed a journo through Brittany's bathroom and bedroom shortly after she passed away - to say she was a hoarder / clutterer is an understatement - the vanity counter didn't have any spare room - shit everywhere - and the bedroom was full of clothes - racks upon racks upon racks. Not what I would have expected of her.

I would think she would want to know what killed her daughter. Hold those responsible for it. I think Mom is involved, but I don't trust that Dad either.

Still think she and hubby had the Aids and that's why they were together. We all have toxins in our bodies. Way more than we want to know.

Agreed, Enty. Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction which is what I think we have here.

How did the mom inherit everything? Som inherited everything and when he died, everything went to his mom.

He didn't get a dime even when she died (and he was still alive)

Her death always seemed suspicious. My gut feeling was that the Mom and husband were involved, but then when he died, I became even more convinced. Two can keep a secret, but only if one is dead.

The fact that the mom said she shared a bed with the husband is really weird. Why would you do that if you wanted to keep it under wraps? So either they are really weird or it was a brilliant stroke on her part. Opposite day! Poor Brittany. May she RIP.

That whole letter is odd and distasteful. Right off the bat she explains that she chose to stay out of the limelight after Brittany's death but who is she? She's was someone famous' mother. She wasn't in the limelight.

I don't think she would need to discredit a 90 year old man so much of she wasn't worried about what could come out. In the comment section of the link there is a transcript of part of her and Simon's Larry King interview. Simon says she came to her mother an hour before to tell her she was dying and she loved her.

How does someone at that age think they are dying randomly from natural causes? If she was so sick that she died why didn't they get her to the hospital or call 911 sooner. A good mother wouldn't care if it was a false alarm, she would rather be safe than sorry.

I do think the husband and mom conspired and then the mom killed him off. Maybe he threatened to blackmail her or she just didn't want any loose ends. I don't think she realized how suspicious them dying of the same thing actually looks.

Am I the only person who thought the Mom died as well?

Such a weird story.

I read brittany was birn with diabetes and had health problems from that. Add in the hours, the dieting, non prescrip meds, and her having pneumonia, and it sounds like her body just was depleted snd gave out.
Now i read the mithers letter and what I gitvout it was: ex husband never around and not in anyway a father to her, there was toxic mold in house which may or may not have contributed to her death. Other than than i dont know whats shes trying to say.

I always suspected that Brittany and Simon were both heavy drug users. For Brittany, it may have been to stay thin--she seemed like she was also suffering from an eating disorder.

It was definitely strange, but to anyone who thinks Simon or her mom killed her--why would they kill the only person who worked in that family? Brittany supported herself, her mother and her husband. They needed her working and bringing in money because they certainly weren't. No one got a huge payday when she died, and she's not someone who is capable of earning big money after her death like Michael Jackson's estate. Her career was dwindling at the end but she was capable of bringing in big money only if she was alive and working.

I was surprised to learn on E! that the coroner doesn't test for poisons (unless they are alerted to a strong suspicion). You would think at least after the husbands death, they would test for everything?

To not do so just results in speculation... especially in the case of a public figure.

A life insurance payout is reason enough for some.
