Big lip kisses from the lovely Camilla and a congratulatory hug from Jared and Jennifer.

He's very happy ... said it feels good; thank you!

JLaw looks great.

Best Actor - male lead.

Bruce Dern - sentimental fave - no chance.

Chewitel Ejiofor - great performance - very little chance.

Tam Honks - great performance - should have a chance but doesn't.

McBongo - great performance - huge chance.

Forrest Whitaker - great performance - no chance.

And the winnah...

McBongo!

Seven of Eleven said...

Oh, sweet Chewie!

Speech is a bit of long one full of self-love about the acting fraternity ...

OneEyeCharlie said...

Have to admit, pretty damn good speech from Matthew

Anonymous said...

Come on, wrap it up buddy ... we have 8 minutes left ... and two awards to go ...

OneEyeCharlie said...

I liked his passion. Not a droning thanks to fill in the blank

OneEyeCharlie said...

Did ramble a bit at the end

ninotchka said...

Wow. Master thespian (for real) Forrest Whitaker looking super pissed to lose to McBongo. Can't say I blame him, McBongo's been a joke for years.

The fact remains, McBongo tore it up in Dallas Buyers Club. No hate for this even though he's a bitch.

I still say Redford was ROBBED but I'll try not to be bitter.

Okay - you can shut up now McBongo. So excited, I should be nicer about it but that's enough Matthew.

Oh well, looks like he's still got the inside track for the Oscar. If he can keep his shit together for the next few weeks, it's probably his.

JLaw looks GREAT!!

Steampunk Jazz said...

@ Seven,Jared leto Must get a haircut STAT! It will save me from will arnett snakeman...:-D

ninotchka said...

If he were really serious about winning an Oscar, Leto would cut his hair. The old ladies and old men who make up the bulk of Academy voters would prefer him to be shorn, well-groomed and clean-shaven.

Just sayin'.

Of course he'll probably still win, if the GG's and SAG's are any indication (they are) so maybe he doesn't have to bother.

Here is Robert De Niro ...

The nominees for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role are:

Cate Blanchett for Blue Jasmine

Sandra Bullock for Gravity

Judi Dench for Philomena

Meryl Streep for August: Osange County

Drunky for Saving Mr Banks

Anonymous said...

And the Actor goes to ...

Cate Blanchett!

YAY!!!!!!

OneEyeCharlie said...

DeNiro seemed quite wooden up there. Was he blackmailed into presenting?

Anonymous said...

This is the first win in this category for Cate.

She said she didn't recognise Robert De Niro!

Thanked her fellow nominees.

Said she's been away from films for a while making theatre (O/T she owns Sydney Theatre Company) ... so is very happy to win this.

OneEyeCharlie said...

Cate just jacked the statue. Get it, girl!

Anonymous said...

@Charlie - inflated ego syndrome, I think

Steampunk Jazz said...

Yay! My fave and a Julia Shut Out!

Anonymous said...

Cate is annoyed at being told to wrap up ... is making a fantastic speech - very grateful to Woody, the cast, the crew, generous ensemble ...

Said she's been married 17 years, with agent for 17 years, and with publicist for 17 years ... thanks so much to all those people, my biggest achievement.

#Lovely!!!!

Seven of Eleven said...

Cate Blanchett on being ID'd for wine.

ninotchka said...

Oh my, it's De Niro - who surprised me in American Hustle.

He's doing Female Lead Drama

Cate Blanchett - Blue Jasmine - great performance - will win.

Sandra Bullock - Gravity - great performance - no chance.

Dame Judi Dench, great performance - no chance.

Meryl Streep - terrible performance - no chance.

Emma Thompson - good performance - no chance.

They cut his announcement of the winner - WTF was that?

Oh well - Cate the Great, as expected.

HA. They tell her she has 20 seconds - she says Matthew talked about Neptune so she thinks she can talk. Says to thanks for those who voted for her and for those tho didn't - better luck next year. Funny.

The dress still sucks and that's very unusual for her.

Thanks everyone graciously - says gthe penis part of the award goes to Sally Hawkins.

Thanks her long-time team so beautifully.

Class act.

Here's Douchebag Affleck.

He'll be presenting best film ...

Is re-announcing them ...

Anonymous said...

And the Actor goes to:

The cast of American Hustle

Anonymous said...

Oh look here's Bradley with his bedroom eyes ... #hot

He's speaking on behalf of the cast

Wow Jennifer Lawrence is really tall - a good 40cm taller than Amy Adams

Steampunk Jazz said...

I'm Magic cause I knew that, lol

Anonymous said...

Affleck sounds incredibly flat and and bored ... what a doozey ... he said thanks and good night

OneEyeCharlie said...

What the Hell? Microphone bombing

Anonymous said...

That's all folks!

Tune in next week for ... can't recall, but I'm sure there's something!

ninotchka said...

Ben and his hair. Best Picture (best cast).
Going too fast for me.. you know what films are nommed.

AMERICAN HUSTLE!

Great flick - good for them.

Is Batman there? I don't see him. Everyone else is there. Oh it's that Margo chick. Bad makeup, dress not as good as last week's but then that would be hard to match.

Cooper talks for everyone - loves David O. Russell - says wonderful things about him. I guess they weren't quit so pissed off at him as that blind indicated.

Was that Cuba Gooding Fuckhead who ran up onstage and jumped in on Ben with "Happy MLK Weekend" just there? I understand the sentiment but.. um... no.

ninotchka said...

God. I feel like we should all have a cigarette now.

OneEyeCharlie said...

I quit many moons ago, ninotchka, but I'll male an exception

Just Another HR Lady said...

Thanks everyone, great reporting!!! Lol

Steampunk Jazz said...

Oh That is too funny ninotchka, what a scam for five Minutes more CGJr.

Seven of Eleven said...

I'm glad someone mentioned the statue jock strap.

ninotchka said...

Well you guys were fab! Stepforded - you did yeoman's work there, for sure.

I want to go back and read all the comments I missed while I was blabbing away.

Steampunk Jazz said...

Thanks everyone, it was like I was there, only bettah. Any idea which idol is next?

Seven of Eleven said...

But... Cuba loves everybody!

ninotchka said...

Ben didn't seem as wasted as he was last week but damn that man is MISERABLE and it shows.

His buddy Sweet Ass Matty Damon is there and everything.

Also, what is up with Brad's hair? Unattractive.

No Christian Bale - no Michael Fassbender - they're probably working, everyone likes the SAGs.

JLaw's working in Atlanta and she made it. Looked good too.

Next week - the GRAMMYS - there will be some seriously fucked up fashion and people there, for sure.

keeshlo said...

This is so fun. Like having friends over for a viewing party! Cant wait til next award!

ninotchka said...

One thing we can all be thankful for this evening -

No Seacrest on the carpet.

See you guys in the comments during the week, even though I'm usually late and lame for them.

Also, see you for the tacky extravaganza which is the Grammys next week, if at all possible. I'll rest my fingers this week.

Steampunk - you're awesome and I like your name. The rest of you are also awesome and this was fun.

Goodnight!

Sugar said...

Looks like I missed the party.

@Sugar, I shall consider forgiving you.

Shazbot! I mean, where do I go from here?? I'm just now seeing Ty Burrell win. West Coast represent!

Anonymous said...

Thank you for your company, guys! And the nice compliments :-)

And yes, keeshlo, I thought the same! :-)

I'm sure I heard Julia Roberts say Ryan Seacrest was sick ... about the same time she was blabbing on about fancying Jason Kennedy from E! ... she was talking about flowers - not sure if she sent Jason flowers, or he sent them to her, but she was swooning about him ... her poor husband! :-(

Ciao :-)

I'm so happy to see Matt Mc win an award. He is a very good actor (see Time to Kill); he just made some bad choices on roles and got stereotyped as the go-to guy for rom coms.

This is a break-through for him. He's worked hard for it. Well done.

Anonymous said...

Zeeky Lizzy you can such the smelliest bull nuts from your backyard! Back off bitch!

Scallywag said...

"Blonde chick in red - no clue. Eyeglass wearing guy - I've seen him but no clue. "

Sasha Alexander from Rizzoli and Isles and NCIS, and Clark Gregg from The Avengers and Iron Man and that Agents of Shield TV show.

@Steampunk is right, Emma Thompson is a goddess and a hoot.

Sarah Paulsen, if you are gonna be standing with Lupita Nyong'o for the next month you need to step up your game. No looking like the lottery fairy.

Larry Hagman died in 2012 so he would have been in last years In Memoriam.

Elizabeth Moss must be floating on air after Helen Mirren's accolades. Good for her.

In 1962, Rita Moreno won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in West Side Story. I guess she wasn't expecting the win, because she was very drunk. She made it up to the stage & it was the first time the home audience got to see a very drunk woman wobble, nearly topple, and slur her way to as acceptance. I was shocked because it was the first time I'd ever seen public drunkeness. And from a movie star, no less!

Freya said...

Maggie always wins and she's never there.

Freya said...

Yeah, I'm getting tired of the jokes too...unless they're not as straight as they claim to be.
