I think Howard Stern splashed himself with a shot glass of water for an Ice Bucket Challenge. I guess he was afraid of getting that wig wet.

Worst Outfit Of the 2014 Emmys. You can only pick ONE! I chose Dascha Polanco, only because Lena got the exact look she was going for:
Malfoy on crack channelling Pink Flamingos...

I know I'm not supposed to write about you know what, but I missed the fashion snark fest earlier. Carry on...

Is that a wig?

He prob couldn't do it at home cuz he couldn't get his horse to dump a bucket of water over his head; although she does like to wear a bikini, he could do it to her.

I have a head cold and feel miserable. Sympathy please. I know my boys at home won't give me any.

It's MY Birthday on Friday and had every intent on binge drinking the weekend away...but my daughter convinced me that she would just DIE if I would not take her to the Fall Out Boy/Paramore concert on Saturday. It's her weekend with her father and he refused to take her. So Mom steps up to the plate! (Secretly love Paramore, so it's not a total hardship..I'll just have to bang my boyfriend real good on Friday to make up for it..lol)

@Helen. Isn't that the truth about males - sheeeeesh. No sympathy atttallll.
I do feel for you. It sucks being sick. Although you get to be on here. Lol. O ya, sympathy..... I do hope u feel better soon. Maybe can eat some gormet style chicken soup. :-)

High priced Vodka vs. cheap vodka. Unless you are drinking straight shots right out of the freezer, what's the difference? If you are adding ice cubes and/or mixer and/or soda, you are just a fool for paying more for a fancier bottle.

crila16 said...

Are you asking if I'd rather do anything else other than watching the Emmy's?

If so...yes. Watch paint dry...or sex. But the sex part isn't an option right now. So...the paint watching option.

Unknown said...

Awww Helen! Rug up, get a hottie (water bottle), a cup of tea, and get well soon!

Haywood : I had a nice one recently cinammon with gold flakes in it. Yummm....

Yesterday while waiting outside (with my puppy-naturally) for a friend that I took to The Dentist, i stopped a lady in a minivan who backed up and into the side of a newish car and smashed it pretty good. She was trying her darnedest to get the heck outta there- TOTAL HIT N RUN -Betch!
I let her see me taking a pic of her lic plate, when she still was make a "gun" for it I stepped to her window and knocked while telling her she knew she hit the car and standing so she couldn't maneuver around me w/o hitting me.
I was pissed at her and I didn't want someone to get screwed. It was not the smartest thing I've done. And the safety factor DID occur to me, but it didn't stop me.
She also had about 3 teens / Tweens in her car. What a good example she was setting.
And ohhhh, if looks could kill I wouldn't be here.
I told her I had pics and to wait that I was going into the 2 offices to find the car owner. She never said a word to me. I had even asked if she spoke English. When I found the owner and she met with the woman I could hear the woman was American and had understood me just fine; she just wouldn't talk to me.
So, they did there thing, the bitch left and I continued to wait for my friend outside on a bench, AND GUESS WHAT! a Freaking BB came flying at me. TRUTH! It pinged off a garden rail about 1foot away from me and I saw it. I was like, Holy crap!!" And I wondered if the Hit and Run family went around the corner or came back and the kids took a shot at me.
A passer by saw the BB too. The dentist, who had seen the action going on with me came to check in me, twice, after the BB the Dentist insisted I wait inside even with my pup.
It's a pretty nice neighborhood and nice Dentist Offices. I guess that doesn't matter at all.
THE END

Damn, @SYF, that sounds like a day and a half! Did you report it?

@Helen, hope you feel better soon! I know exactly what you mean, when a guy gets sick, it's the end of the world as we know it. A woman gets sick, they offer to pick up KFC.

Oh helen, so sorry dear. Some nice hot tea, some cinnom toast, a comfy pillow and a box of fluffy tissues shld do u well. Later either get takeout chic soup or if nes, canned. Eat nice and hot. Be better soonest!!!

Head colds are horrible. You're too ill to do anything, but not ill enough not to care. It' so boring and frustrating.
Pamper yourself. Make those lazy boys wait on you.

Re. the fashion at that event which shall not be named, I'm more forgiving of the lower-tier performers who dress badly, since they have far fewer choices and less experience. It's embarrassing, but the hope is, that as they become more successful they'll learn and improve. There is NO excuse for those that have a stylist and access to bespoke designer dresses to get it wrong.
I don't mind what Lena wore because, as you said, it accomplished exactly what she wanted it to. I just wish it had fit better. If the designer doesn't send a seamstress with the dress, then hire your own. Poorly fitting clothes are disrespectful to your host.
My worst dressed was actually Sofia Vergara. There was nothing wrong with the dress, but it's the same dress she's worn at every event for years now and I'm sick of it. She's a top-tier TV star with a stylist, access, and a great body. She has everything going for her, but no imagination.
My best dressed was Robin Wright. Ralph Lauren ripped off Phoebe Philo for Celine's design (he did the same with Valentino for Lupita N'Yongo's Globes dress), but the result was great. I love an evening suit on a woman.
Sorry for the essay. I could talk about fashion for ever.

Little bit. Enough to be jealous.

There's only you and me and we just disagree...

Only you know and I know all the love that we've got to show...

Feeling alright...not feeling too good myself...

Let it go, let it go, let it flow like a river
Let it go, let it go, let it flow through you

Enjoy, @All Lace!

Well thank you @SYF

Happy early birthday LURKER!!!

Sending HeisenHealing Power And hugs to @HELEN
Feel better soon!!! <3

And thanks for biting YOJ and great input! Sofia does ay it too safe in those Zuhair Murad gowns but she's so stunning, no one calls her on it.

I think she's the most gorgeous woman on TV the past few years but her voice KILLS me. Someone best shut that PARROT up already! (Ugh I miss Happy Endings!)

@Heywood Definitely cheap Vodka, usually Svedka not the Popov that my best friend's grandpa kept a pint of in the glove compartment. My husband loves his scotch and he splashes for the good stuff that doesn't come in the big bottle.

On another note, my youngest son is being deployed sooner than expected. He's going to try to come home on leave in late October but I have a feeling that he will be deploying even sooner. I just hope he can make it home for a visit, not just for us but so he can say goodbye to his dog. She's 17 and she's not well. It gives me the sands.

Whatever Lena was wearing was hands down the ugliest outfit I have ever seen. I wonder if Ellen will copy it one day like Bjorks swan.

Yoj said...

@skippy
I LOVED Bjork's swan!
Would I wear it? No. But it is absolutely what I want Bjork to wear.

Yoj said...

@Jennmcn
You have so much on your plate right now!
I know it's MUCH easier said than done, but try not to be anxious over what you can't control. You could make yourself ill that way. Take care of yourself, so that you can take care of your family.
I'll keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,Your Friend said...

@7of11. No, I didn't even think to do that. My thinker may have been "out of order"..

Now I want KFC.

@auntliddy. U made me lol!

@All Lace - DAve Mason? Of course! He was a member of TRAFFIC and he also did an amazing duet album with Cass Elliot!

All Lace no Leather said...

@Scallywag, thx I'm looking forward to it. I think you are a bigger fan than you admit!

@ Dishy, I love Traffic and Blind Faith. Each time I've seen Eric Clapton he has done some Blind Faith tunes, and when I saw Steve Winwood, he did both Traffic and Blind Faith. I'm hoping Dave does some Traffic too. This will be the first time I've seen him.

I love the music from the 60s and 70s. I think I was born a decade too late.
