Yes. Only homecoming - once when I was a junior. No prom for me either.

My high school does the 3rd weekend in May. It is in Brooklyn in somewhat a bad area. I live in Florida. I went once when I was up there and vowed never again. I dont give a shit what my college does.

I don't think we have that in Canada

Prom? Formal dances?

Interesting question to ask at 10AM on a school day...

Both do; I only went back to my HS's homecoming game when my younger brother was on the football team. I'm going to my college's homecoming game this year with a bunch of friends--we all try to go to one game each year. I'm lucky that my in-laws live nearby so we don't have to deal with jacked up hotel costs.

we have senior prom but no one gives a shit about our high school football teams etc and most schools in Canada don't have cheerleaders and all that stuff you see in the movies

I immediately thought Homecoming meant the football game in the fall, but from other answers it seems it can mean the dance too. Either way my answer is no to HS and no to college. Though my college does have an annual open house type event that alumni come back for in the spring. I've never been since graduating.

I went to my first homecoming at 5 years. Ivy League school, big on anniversary get-togethers. I never even made it to the game. I got mugged at brunch, spent the morning at the police station, had to beg a ride home, then had to break into my second floor apartment-jumping from fire escape to window-which I had to break. Then I had to drive back into the city to get my car, which of course had been ticketed. That was 25 years ago-I've never gone back, TYVM.

I went to my 10yr reunion and got super drunk and snorted lines of coke off the hood of my HS buddies 74 Chevy Nova. We then proceeded to impress the entire place with our dance moves and general disregard for personal space. Asked to leave early. Do NOT plan on ever showing my face again.

I go to homecoming football game. Years ago the custom was to invite the old cheerleaders back to cheer the first half of the game. Now that my grandkids are growing up they said they'd die if I wore my cheerleading outfit to the game. Isn't it my job to embarrass them?

At my schools, you have to pay to attend. I didn't want to hang out with those asshats when I could do it for free, I'm certainly not going to PAY to be annoyed.

I just wanna say i never "got" cheerleaders. Why do i have to cheer a bunch of boys on? What am i getting out of it? I felt this way as far back as i remember, like 10 or so. So they accomplish, and i kust stand there going yea ur great? I dont think so. And whenever anyone tells me her daughter is into cheerleading and isnt that great, it sets my teeth on edge. I just go oh how nice but inside im screaming, no! No! By all that is holy, hasnt this lame pastime died?! Guess its part of whole jock culture which, im sure you will be amazed to learn, I abhor. And dont tell me how hard the girls work, the disipline involved. Im not disputing that, just why are u cheering someone else on? Do your own accomplishment, dont bolster up anyone else when u cld be doing your thing.

Yes. No. (I do keep in touch with most of my class via FB, though. It's nice. All of the nice kids are still nice, and all of the jerks and/or people I wasn't close to at the time have turned out to be nice, too.)

No Homecoming/Prom in the UK. Just semi-formal school discos that I avoided like the plague. Because if there's one thing more mortifying than High School, it's High School with dancing.
I chickened out of going to my Uni's ten-year reunion, as I didn't want to see my ex-boyfriend and my ex-friend playing happy families. But, as it turned out, my exes are now each other's exes. I'd like to say I'm such a good person that I wasn't happy to hear that, but I'm not and I was.

Yes, high school and college both have homecoming every year…never go. I live halfway across the country…and I am a grown-up now. If I lived closer, I might take my kids so they could see it, though.

No. My High school was consolidated 43 yrs ago and my college major does not sponsor any activity or dinner at the university homecoming.
therefore I CELEBRATE at my chIldren's HS and spouse's university - both schools who know hoe to do a reunion weekend!

I went to an all girls school that is now closed and didn't have it. I do not go to any of my colleges, either undergrad or grads', either. Nor do I go to the one I teach at though I am sometimes asked to.

My daughter is a Varsity High School Cheerleader and competes at Regionals and Nationals with them. Then, she is on a Level 5 World's Team for one of the largest Cheerleading Gyms in the USA. It is a sport these days.

Nothing like that here. My university does hold a themed celebration though. Last year was the Oscars or something like that. I've never gone. It's probably fun though, for someone who isn't completely anti-social.
